I am new in wordpress and I confuse how to solve this.
$redeem = array(
date('Ymd'),
$_POST['value']
);
if ($point && is_array($point)) {
$n = sizeof($point);
$point[$n] = $redeem;
}
update_user_meta(get_current_user_id(), 'value', $point);
} else {
update_user_meta(get_current_user_id(), 'value', $redeem );
}
This code work properly, it makes the data in my database become array. The problem is, how can I show the data from my database into my work page ?
a:3:{i:0;s:8:"20160421";i:1;s:3:"222";
This is the result of value in my database. I just want to show the value of "222".
Thanks
In WordPress, when you insert/update array data into user_meta or post_meta table, it will automatically saves data in serialized form, so you have to unserialize those data while fetching.
Below you can find simple conversation for array to serialized data and serialized data to array. You have to pass serialized data into unserialize function to fetch 222 value.
$arr = array("name"=>"milap","language"=>"php","cms"=>"WordPress");
$sd = serialize($arr);
$res = unserialize($sd);
echo "<pre>";print_r($res);
The output of above code is,
Array
(
[name] => milap
[language] => php
[cms] => WordPress
)

I would like to been appending objects to instagram value instead of overwriting them if there is a new object that isn't repeated.
So I have this piece of code:
if (is_array($api_return)) {
$api_return += ['last_updated' => time()];
$this->instagram->set_user_id($api_return['user_id']);
$this->instagram->set_username($api_return['username']);
$this->instagram->set_access_token($api_return['access_token']);
$this->instagram->set_access_token_expiration($api_return['access_token_expiration']);
$this->instagram->set_last_updated($api_return['last_updated']);
// Show our authenticated message.
$page_content .= $this->get_admin_notice_content('green',
'auth-finished', $this->instagram->get_username());
update_option('instagram', $api_return);
}
What this does, is it takes $api_return which is a array and groups it into an object and saves it inside the database as this:
We have option_name which is instagram and then the value is:
a:5:{s:8:"username";s:16:"saint";s:7:"user_id";i:17841404774727369;s:12:"access_token";s:141:"IGQVJVR1N*****";s:23:"access_token_expiration";i:1650688769;s:12:"last_updated";i:1645536110;}
What I'm attempting to do:
Now I want to be able to save multiple object where the instagram key doesn't get overwritten but each new api_return gets stored as a new object if it's not the same in an array.
Here is an example:
authenticated_users = [
{s:8:"username";s:16:"saint";s:7:"user_id";i:17841404774727369;s:12:"access_token";s:141:"IGQVJVR1N*****";s:23:"access_token_expiration";i:1650688769;s:12:"last_updated";i:1645536110;}
{s:8:"username";s:16:"test3";s:7:"user_id";i:17841404774727369;s:12:"access_token";s:141:"IGQVJVR1N*****";s:23:"access_token_expiration";i:1650688769;s:12:"last_updated";i:1645536110;}
];
What is the best approach on storing the option value as an array with multiple objects?
You have to first load the option an then manually merge the values:
$current = get_option("instagram", []);
$newData = [
$api_return,
];
// Merge array $current and $newData into single array so
// $api_return is appended to $current and the option is updated.
update_option("instagram", array_merge($current, $newData));
I've an existing form which is passing the input data to the model in an array format. $postdata has all the data from the view and sending to model.
Controller:
$inquiry_id = $this->input->post('inquiry_id');
$postdata = $this->input->post();
$this->load->model('Design_model');
$this->Design_model->insertdata($postdata,$inquiry_id);
Model:
function insertdata($data = array(), $inquiry_id){
$sql = $this->db->query("select * from design where inquiry_id='".$inquiry_id."'");
if($sql->num_rows() == 0){
$sql_query = $this->db->insert('design', $data);
}
else{
$this->db->where('inquiry_id', $inquiry_id);
$this->db->update('design', $data);
}
}
Above is working fine. Now, I'd like to add few fields in the view and save in a different database table. Need to exclude the new field values from $postdata array getting saved. Need to find the best approach to do this. I can start with some name for all the new fields, so that we can add any filter if available to exclude from the $postdata.
You can use elements() function from Array helper.
$array = array(
'id' => 101,
'title' => 'example',
'desc' => 'something',
'unwanted' => 'bla bla'
);
$filtered_array = elements(array('id','title','desc'),$array); //you can use this directly to the post data
$this->Design_model->insertdata($filtered_array,$inquiry_id);
You can use array_merge() or array_push() functions to add new fields to the array.
Let's say you have following data
$postdata = array("name"=>"xyz",
"email"=>"xyz#gmail.com",
"age"=>"40",
"gender"=>"Male",
"occupation"=>"Engineer"
);
Of which first 3 records are from old fields and last 2 are from new fields as you saying.
You need to find last index of first set i.e. '3' Now you can do this.
$firstDb = array_splice($postdata,0,3); //here 3 is index we are using to get first 3 records from $postdata
$secondDb = array_slice($postdata,0,3); //here 3 is index we are using to get records from position 3 from $postdata
Output:
$firstDb = array("name"=>"xyz","email"=>"xyz#gmail.com","age"=>"40");
$secondDb = array("gender"=>"Male","occupation"=>"Engineer");
Now you can insert you records as you wish to. Happy coding
Iam working on a laravel project which stores values to a DB entry in loop on meeting certain conditions.
This first creates an array if the entry is for the first time and adds a value to it. Henceforth, it recalls the array and keeps adding values to it.
if(is_null($lead->shown_to)) {
$a = array();
array_push($a, "lead 1");
$lead->shown_to = serialize($cart);
$lead->save();
} else {
$a=unserialize($lead->shown_to);
array_push($a, "lead 2");
$lead->shown_to = serialize($a);
$lead->save();
}
To be able to create an array and add distinct elements to it repeatedly.
Is there a way to first check if the element exists in it or not. If it does, just move ahead, else add it?
Thanks in advance.
There're a couple of methods you can use.
You can first look for the value on the DB if exists using a column from the database like:
$result = Model::where( 'column', 'value' );
if ( $result ) {
// update already exists
} else {
// create one
}
// Retrieve flight by name, or create it if it doesn't exist...
$flight = App\Flight::firstOrCreate(['name' => 'Flight 10']);
// Retrieve by name, or instantiate...
$flight = App\Flight::firstOrNew(['name' => 'Flight 10']);
Also it depends what you are looking for as firstOrCreate persists the value into the DB where firstOrNew just creates a new instance where you need to call save()
to check a value exists in an array you can use array_search(). this will return the value if exists. if not it returns false.
if(!array_search('lead 2', $a)) {
// array does't has 'lead 2' so,
array_push('lead 2', $a);
}
In Laravel I would take advantage of the Collections because they have a lot of helpful methods to work with.
I would do something like this:
OPTION 1
//Depending on the value of $lead->show, initialize the cart variable with the serialization of the attribute or and empty array and transform it to a collection.
$cart = collect($lead->shown_to ? unserialize($lead->shown_to) : []);
//Ask if the collection doesn't have the given value. If so, added it.
if (!$cart->contains($your_value)) {
$cart->push($your_value);
}
//Convert to array, serialize and store
$lead->shown_to = serialize($cart->toArray());
$lead->save();
OPTION 2
//Depending on the value of $lead->show, initialize the cart variable with the serialization of the attribute or and empty array and transform it to a collection.
$cart = collect($lead->shown_to ? unserialize($lead->shown_to) : []);
//Always push the value
$cart->push($your_value);
//Get the unique values, convert to an array, serialize and store
$lead->shown_to = serialize($cart->unique()->toArray());
$lead->save();
You can get more creative using the collections and they read better on Laravel
I think you can use updateOrCreate, if not exists it will create now, if exists, it will update it, so you can keep assigning value to shown_to property
$lead= App\Lead::updateOrCreate(
['name' => 'Lead 1'],
['shown_to' => serialize($a)]
);
if you wan to keep the existing shown_to better to use json data, so that you can do like
$lead= App\Lead::updateOrCreate(
['name' => 'Lead 1'],
['shown_to' => json_encode(array_push(json_decode($a), $newData))]
);
I am using a form that is pulling data from two MySQL databases into a single dynamic page. When a user clicks add to cart I want to store that data in a multi dimensional session array to call up later when they click view cart. I am wondering how to auto increment the subset identifier(array key?) of the item when a new item is added from the add to cart form. This is what I have so far:
$newitem = array ($row_getimages['icon'],$row_getimages['title'],$row_getshoppingcart['medium'],$row_getshoppingcart['size'],$row_getshoppingcart['price'],$row_getshoppingcart['shipping']);
session_start();
if(isset($_SESSION['item'][1]))
$_SESSION['item'][1] = $_SESSION['item'][1]+ 1;
else
$_SESSION['item'][1] = 1;
Also any help for calling out the data later would be appreciated. As a user may have 1 or 20 items stored in the session I am not sure how to make sure all items would be echoed no matter how many they have added.
This is my first time at a multi dimensional array and sessions. Obviously because the image page is dynamic and purchase price is based on several factors, just using a MySQL database of available items as I have in the past is out of the question.
Thank you in advance for your time.
$newitem = array ('id' => $row_getshoppingcart['id'] , 'icon' => $row_getimages['icon'],'title' => $row_getimages['title'],'medium' => $row_getshoppingcart['medium'],'size' => $row_getshoppingcart['size'],'price' => $row_getshoppingcart['price'],'shipping' => $row_getshoppingcart['shipping']);
session_start();
$_SESSION['item'][] = $newitem;
That is all you have to do, if I understand your system correctly.
UPDATE
I updated the $newitem array to include array keys. You can reference the new item info with arrays like this:
$_SESSION['item'][(num)]['id']
Or you can loop through the results like this:
foreach ( $_SESSION['item'] AS $item )
{
echo 'id: ' . $item['id'] . '<br />';
echo 'title: ' . $item['title'];
// and so on
}
If it is not important for the numbers to be sequential, you can use:
$_SESSION['item'][] = array('a','b','c','d','e','f');
Using [] will simply add a new element to the end of the array.
However, I would probably use a product ID for the key.
I have a problem. I have a website with people and different transactions they make to and from a fake online bank. I want to be able to store an array of each person's transactions on my mysql database. I want each transaction to be defined as an associative array with a timestamp and the sql query that represents their transaction with the "bank".
Then I want those, after being serialized, to be the values of a transactions array that holds all of their transactions. Then I want to serialize that and store it in the database so that later I can add a transaction by unserializing it and appending a serialized array of another transaction to it. So far this code below works except that it just overwrites the one transaction and doesn't append a new one. I'd really appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance
function modify_transactions($row, $sql)
{
$sql=mysql_real_escape_string($sql);
if(isset($row["TRANSACTIONS"]))
{
$transactions = unserialize($row["TRANSACTIONS"]);
}
else
{
$transactions = array();
}
$transaction_array = array("timestamp"=>time(),"query"=>$sql);
$transaction_data = serialize($transaction_array);
$transactions[] = $transaction_data;
$transactions_upload = serialize($transactions);
$name = $row["NAME"];
$query = "UPDATE band.students SET TRANSACTIONS = '$transactions_upload' WHERE students.NAME = '$name'";
mysql_query($query);
}
If I were you, I'd rather go for a new table where every entry would represent a transaction and that had a foreign key student_id.
That'd be much, much, much cleaner and more flexible and scalable (i.e. what if you want to show the last 3 transactions of user X? What if a user had several million transactions?).
First, you don't need to serialize each array, then serialize again. Serialize is recursive:
$array = array(
array(
'1',
array()
),
array(
'2',
array()
)
);
$serialized = serialize($array);
$unserialized = unserialize($serialized);
echo "<pre>";
print_r($unserialized);
echo "</pre>";
Prints:
Array
(
[0] => Array
(
[0] => 1
[1] => Array
(
)
)
[1] => Array
(
[0] => 2
[1] => Array
(
)
)
)
So just serialize right before inserting into the database.
Second, you should change your database structure. Like vzwick mentioned, create a new table with a foreign key of the student. That way each entry represents a transaction.
Also, why are you storing the actual SQL query? That doesn't make any sense to me. Why don't you actually make a fake transaction?
