I created a script to import a CSV file. When I run it by hand with the php command on the server the script runs without problems. On the other hand when the crontab execute it there is an error:
SPLFILEOBJECT::__CONSTRUCT(IMPORTS/STOCK_EXPRESS_FR.CSV): FAILED TO
OPEN STREAM: NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY .
Here is my import script.
<?php
require(dirname(__FILE__) . '/config/config.inc.php');
$dir_fichier = 'IMPORTS/STOCK_EXPRESS_FR.csv';
//error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors', 0);
tntProduct($dir_fichier);
function tntProduct($dir_fichier)
{
$errors = [];
try{
$csv = new SplFileObject($dir_fichier);
$csv->setFlags(SplFileObject::READ_CSV);
$csv->setCsvControl(';');
} catch (Exception $exception) {
$errors[] = $exception->getMessage();
}
$nbProducts = 0;
$nbProductsSuccess = 0;
foreach ($csv as $ligne) {
if ($ligne[1] === '0') {
$result = getIdsProducts($ligne[0]);
if (!empty($result)) {
foreach ($result as $key => $item) {
$nbProducts++;
try {
setCarrier($item['id_product']);
$nbProductsSuccess++;
}catch (Exception $exception) {
$errors[] = $exception->getMessage();
}
}
}
}
}
if (count($errors)>0) {
sendMail($errors);
} else {
sendMail($nbProducts);
}
if (file_exists ($dir_fichier)) {
unlink($dir_fichier);
}
}
function getIdsProducts($ref)
{
$sql = Db::getInstance()->executeS('
SELECT p.id_product
FROM ' . _DB_PREFIX_ . 'product p
WHERE p.reference = ' . '"' . $ref . '"');
return $sql;
}
function setCarrier($productId)
{
$shop = 1;
$carriersFR = [
0 => 1,
1 => 72,
2 => 87
];
$products = new Product((int)$productId, false, 1, $shop);
$products->setCarriers($carriersFR);
}
function sendMail($result)

Do you have an idea of the problem ? Thank you for your help
In crontab run the script, is not be in the folder, so you need to write full path or correct relative path.
I 'm writing a PHP code to be executed under apache (unfortunately under window OS by using xampp PHP 7.2.x). The PHP script should call an octave in an interactive way in order to be able to execute more commands in sequence without creating for each one a dedicated octave process.
here below an PHP script example.
I have a problem with the interactive working mode; I mean, I'm able to execute an octave script and have back the result but I'm not able to send several octave commands in sequence.
<?php
$descriptorspec = array(
0 => array("pipe", "r"), // stdin is a pipe that the child will read from
1 => array("pipe", "w"), // stdout is a pipe that the child will write to
2 => array("pipe", "w") // stderr is a pipe that the child will write to, you can specify a file as well
);
$octave = 'C:\Octave\Octave-4.4.0\bin\octave-cli-4.4.0 ';
$cmd = $octave . ' --no-gui -i -q --eval disp(10)';
$process = proc_open($cmd, $descriptorspec, $pipes);
if (!is_resource($process)) {
die("PROCESS CREATION ERROR CMD: $cmd");
}
$str = "eval('disp(20)');\r\n" . chr(13);
if(fwrite($pipes[0],$str) === false){
die("fwrite ERROR");
}
$str = stream_get_contents($pipes[1]);
if($str === false){
die("stream_get_contents ERROR");
}else{
echo $str;
}
fclose($pipes[0]);
fclose($pipes[1]);
$return_value = proc_close($process);
echo "command returned $return_value\n";
?>
In this case, the output is: 10 commands returned 0
Instead if define $cmd = $octave . ' --no-gui -i -q';
The script is blocked waiting for a returning charter to the stream_get_contents. Same result using fgets.
My understanding is that the fwrite command is not correctly received by an octave and so it doesn't print back the result (even if the fwrite doesn't return any error). Maybe the problem is due to the code to be sent as carriage return in order to tell to octave to execute the code. Moreover, it is not clear, if I should use the eval function or just write the command. However, in all tries done nothing is changed.
Any ideas?
Here below the code review, working if can be useful.
I have also created a dedicated class (octave_stream) in order to provide an interface that permits, for instance, an html pages to start a dedicated octave process ondemand (using a SSE communication) and then send one by one commands as ajax request. The sw will close the octave process whenever the user leave the page or after an unused time.
here below the whole code based on the following 4 files: octave.php, octave_sse.php, octave_com.php.

I'm new to OO PHP...I'm trying to create a PHP class called MyClass and some methods that should:
validate that parameters are numeric
validate that parameters are defined
if any of the above fail I need to send an exception with explanation
When I call the MyFunction method like this:
$quotation = new Quotations\MyClass();
echo $quotationResult = $quotation -> MyFunction('A', 'B', 2, 'a');
to test if it will throw an exception but for some reason page doesn't load saying - "localhost is currently unable to handle this request". But when I call it like this:
$quotation = new Quotations\MyClass();
echo $quotationResult = $quotation -> MyFunction('A', 'B', 2, 3);
it works fine (I can see blank page).
Why it doesn't allow me to print an exception in the browser?
My script:
<?php
namespace Quotations;
class MyClass {
var $is_number;
var $is_defined;
private $number;
private $defined;
private function isNumeric($w, $c){
if(is_numeric($w) && is_numeric($c)){
$number = true;
}
else{
$number = false;
}
return $number;
}
private function isDefined($t, $f, $w, $c){
if(isset($t, $f, $w, $c)){
$defined = true;
}
else{
$defined = false;
}
return $defined;
}
function MyFunction($to, $from, $weight, $cube) {
try{
if(!$this -> isNumeric($weight, $cube)){
throw new InvalidArgumentException('Arguments are not numeric');
}
if(!$this -> isDefined($to, $from, $weight, $cube)){
throw new BadMethodCallException('Arguments are missing');
}
}catch(InvalidArgumentException $e){
echo 'Caught exception: ', $e->getMessage(), "\n";
}catch(BadMethodCallException $e){
echo 'Caught exception: ', $e->getMessage(), "\n";
}
}
}
?>
Use backslashes before the execption names to look for them in the global namespace. Otherwise, it looks for them in the Quotations namespace.
function MyFunction($to, $from, $weight, $cube) {
try {
if(!$this -> isNumeric($weight, $cube)){
throw new \InvalidArgumentException('Arguments are not numeric');
}
if(!$this -> isDefined($to, $from, $weight, $cube)){
throw new \BadMethodCallException('Arguments are missing');
}
} catch(\InvalidArgumentException $e) {
echo 'Caught exception: ', $e->getMessage(), "\n";
} catch(\BadMethodCallException $e) {
echo 'Caught exception: ', $e->getMessage(), "\n";
}
}
First step is to enable error reporting -
error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set("display_errors", 1);.
From looking at your code you seem to be missing a closing bracket your code should look like this.
namespace Quotations;
class MyClass {
var $is_number;
var $is_defined;
private $number;
private $defined;
private function isNumeric($w, $c) {
if(is_numeric($w) && is_numeric($c)){
$number = true;
}
else {
$number = false;
}
return $number;
}
private function isDefined($t, $f, $w, $c){
if( isset( $t, $f, $w, $c ) ){
$defined = true;
}
else {
$defined = false;
}
return $defined;
}
function MyFunction($to, $from, $weight, $cube) {
try {
if(!$this -> isNumeric($weight, $cube)){
throw new InvalidArgumentException('Arguments are not numeric');
}
if(!$this -> isDefined($to, $from, $weight, $cube)){
throw new BadMethodCallException('Arguments are missing');
}
} catch(InvalidArgumentException $e) {
echo 'Caught exception: ', $e->getMessage(), "\n";
} catch(BadMethodCallException $e) {
echo 'Caught exception: ', $e->getMessage(), "\n";
}
}
}
Edit:
I saw you said in the comments you have added the } and still no luck so I looked through your code and found the following problem
So this is my last solutions I can think of xD
function MyFunction( $to, $from, $weight, $cube ) {
try
{
try
{
if( !$this->isNumeric( $weight, $cube ) ) {
throw new \InvalidArgumentException( 'Arguments are not numeric' );
}
} catch ( \InvalidArgumentException $e ) {
echo 'Error: ' . $e->getMessage();
}
try
{
if( !$this->isDefined( $to, $from, $weight, $cube ) ){
throw new \BadMethodCallException( 'Arguments are missing' );
}
} catch ( \BadMethodCallException $e ) {
echo 'Error: ' . $e->getMessage();
}
} catch ( Exception $e ) {
echo 'Error: ' . $e->getMessage();
}
}
Hope this helps
My question is about the correct way to catch exceptions in PHP.
Based on the accompanying examples of the PHP MongoDB driver, I
have created the following script:
<?php
try {
$mng = new MongoDB\Driver\Manager("mongodb://localhost:2717");
$query = new MongoDB\Driver\Query([], ['sort' => [ 'name' => 1], 'limit' => 5]);
$rows = $mng->executeQuery("testdb.cars", $query);
foreach ($rows as $row) {
echo "$row->name : $row->price\n";
}
} catch (MongoDB\Driver\Exception\Exception $e) {
$filename = basename(__FILE__);
echo "The $filename script has experienced an error.\n";
echo "It failed with the following exception:\n";
echo "Exception:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
echo "In file:", $e->getFile(), "\n";
echo "On line:", $e->getLine(), "\n";
}
?>
The example is educational and meant to be run on the PHP CLI. In PHP CLI, we get all the exceptions on the console, but for didactic purposes, I wanted to catch exceptions in the try/catch block.
I have seen more Java code than PHP and therefore, catching a generic MongoDB\Driver\Exception\Exception does not look good to me. In Java, we catch specific exceptions and have multiple try/catch blocks for different kinds of exceptions.
The driver has the following Exceptions:
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\AuthenticationException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\BulkWriteException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\ConnectionException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\ConnectionTimeoutException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\Exception
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\ExecutionTimeoutException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\InvalidArgumentException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\LogicException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\RuntimeException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\SSLConnectionException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\UnexpectedValueException
MongoDB\Driver\Exception\WriteException
Is this a kosher way to catch exceptions in PHP?
How about placing a switch statement in the catch part, and determine the exception's type with the instanceof language construct or the get_class() function?
For example:
[...]
} catch(\Exception $e) {
switch (get_class($e)) {
case 'MongoDB\Driver\Exception\AuthenticationException':
// do stuff
break;
case 'MongoDB\Driver\Exception\BulkWriteException':
//etc, etc...
}
}
At first, I would examine the return values of get_class(), to make sure you I'm comparing the result with the exact exception names.
You can add multiple catch statements
<?php
try {
$mng = new MongoDB\Driver\Manager("mongodb://localhost:2717");
$query = new MongoDB\Driver\Query([], ['sort' => [ 'name' => 1], 'limit' => 5]);
$rows = $mng->executeQuery("testdb.cars", $query);
foreach ($rows as $row) {
echo "$row->name : $row->price\n";
}
} catch (MongoDB\Driver\Exception\AuthenticationException $e) {
echo "Exception:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
} catch (MongoDB\Driver\Exception\ConnectionException $e) {
echo "Exception:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
} catch (MongoDB\Driver\Exception\ConnectionTimeoutException $e) {
echo "Exception:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
}
?>
Adding multiple catch statement I think it's a better approach than switch. However, what if the exception isn't from these classes with a switch you should have a default case and also if you do it with multiple catches.
try {
$mng = new MongoDB\Driver\Manager("mongodb://localhost:2717");
$query = new MongoDB\Driver\Query([], ['sort' => [ 'name' => 1], 'limit' => 5]);
$rows = $mng->executeQuery("testdb.cars", $query);
foreach ($rows as $row) {
echo "$row->name : $row->price\n";
}
} catch (MongoDB\Driver\Exception\AuthenticationException $e) {
echo "AuthenticationException:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
} catch (MongoDB\Driver\Exception\ConnectionException $e) {
echo "ConnectionException:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
} catch (MongoDB\Driver\Exception\ConnectionTimeoutException $e) {
echo "ConnectionTimeoutException:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
}catch (\Exception $e) {
echo "Exception:", $e->getMessage(), "\n";
}
