I am using laravel and have list of data in a table which has checkboxes to each.
I am looking for multiple delete operation on controller side. I tried for single delete and it worked like charm. But when I used post method for these datas it throws me 500 internal server error.
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$("#btndel").click(function(){
var a = [];
var cboxes = $('input[name="suppcheck[]"]:checked');
var len = cboxes.length;
for (var i=0; i<len; i++) {
a[i] = cboxes[i].value;
}
console.log(a);
var element = $(this);
if(confirm("Are you sure you want to group delete this?"))
{
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "groupDeleteSupp",
data: "ids":[{info:a}],
alert(data);
success: function(){}
});
$(this).parents(".show").animate({ backgroundColor: "#003" }, "slow")
.animate({ opacity: "hide" }, "slow");
}
return false;
});
});
</script>
here is the ajax script. The ids are fecthed perfectly in array a[].
here is my logic at controller,
$data = Input::all();
//p($data);
if(Request::ajax())
{
$ids = $request->input('info');
if(isset($ids))
{
DB::table('supplier')->whereIn('RefAddress', $ids)->delete();
DB::table('address')->whereIn('ID', $ids)->delete();
Session::put('groupDelete');
return redirect('/Suppliers');
}
else
{
Session::put('groupFail');
return redirect('/Suppliers');
}
}
What should be done to pass those values. Its not form either hence I assumed I dont have to deal with csrf token.
Awaiting your reply.

I'm working on my first php/SQL database project and my goal is to store an array of checkbox values into a database.
On clicking the submit on the checkbox form, i am trying to post the array of checkbox values from my jquery doc to index.php
The success response is my index.php page, which i think is correct, so it all seems correct for me and i'm having a hard time figuring why
My array is generated from a series of .push() calls that update to determine when a box is checked it not and only submitted when i click my form submit, which should trigger the ajax post.
var checkArr =
[
{id: "CB1", val: "checked"},
{id: "CB3", val: ""},
{id: "CB5", val: ""},
{id: "CB4", val: "checked"},
{id: "CB2", val: ""}
];
//SUBMIT CHECKBOX VALUES TO PHP
$('#submitCheck').on('click', function(){
$.ajax({
url: 'index.php',
type: 'POST',
data: {checkArr:checkArr},
cache: false,
success: function(response){
alert("ok");
console.log(response);
}
});
});
Here however when i check to see if the post worked i only return 'is not set'.
if(isset($_POST['checkArr'])){
$arr = $_POST['checkArr'];
echo $arr;
} else {
echo 'Is not set';
}
I know there are many similar questions but i haven't found a solution in any of them unfortunately.
I found one thread that mentioned it might be redirecting me before the post can be processed so i removed the action from my form and nothing changed. I tried to stringify my output as json and still the same problem (even if stringify is redundant because of jquery).
Edit: Full code snippet
var checkArr = [];
//COLOUR ITEMS ON PAGE LOAD
$(document).ready(function(){
var box = $(':checkbox');
if(box.is(':checked')){
box.parents("li").removeClass('incomplete');
box.parents("li").addClass('complete');

box.parents("li").removeClass('complete');
box.parents("li").addClass('incomplete');
}
});
//DELETE ITEM
$(document).on('click','.delete', function(){

var id = $(this).attr('id')//get target ID
var item = $(this).closest('li');//targets the li element
//AJAX

success: function(response){
if(response == 'ok') {
item.slideUp(500,function(){
item.remove();
});
} else if(response == 'error') {
console.log("error couldn't delete");
} else {
console.log(response);
}

//SUBMIT CHECKBOX VALUES TO PHP

I tried your code and it's working perfectly for me.
Now the only thing I can think of is your url in your ajax request. make sure you are really submitting to index.php.
You can use JSON.stringify() to submit the array from ajax to php
Posting here to update just in case anyone has a similar problem, the code itself was correct(sort of), after a lot of digging and asking around, it turns out the local server i was using, XAMPP, had too small a POST upload limit hence the empty array on the php side, increasing the php.ini upload limit from 2mb to 10mb finally fixed it!
How would I merge these two bits of code and can someone explain what the key and value would be.
I'm building a notifications system and I'm wanting to store the last new notification_id but not have it inserted into the div over and over again if its the same one, so then the ajax searches for anything else within my server that maybe new.
Ajax
<script type="text/javascript">
function loadIt() {
var notification_id="<?php echo $notification_id['notification_id'] ;?>"
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "viewajax.php?notification_id="+notification_id,
dataType:"json",
cache: false,
success: function(dataHandler){
}
});
}
setInterval(loadIt, 10000);
</script>
Localstrorage
window.localStorage.setItem('key', 'value');
var dataHandler = function (response){
var isDuplicate = false, storedData = window.localStorage.getItem ('key');
for (var i = 0; i < storedData.length; i++) {
if(storedData[i].indexOf(response) > -1){
isDuplicate = true;
}
}
if(!isDuplicate){
storedData.push(response);
}
};
var printer = function(response){
if(response.num){
$("#notif_actual_text-"+notification_id).prepend('<div id="notif_actual_text-'+response['notification_id']+'" class="notif_actual_text">'+response['notification_content']+' <br />'+response['notification_time']+'</div></nr>');
$("#mes").html(''+ response.num + '');
}
};
You've confused oldschool Ajax by hand with jQuery. The parameter to the success function in jQuery is not a function name or handler. Its a variable name that will contain the response from the server. The success function itself is equivalent to the handler functions you would have created doing it the old way.
So not:
success: function(dataHandler){ }
...
...
var dataHandler = function (response){
But rather:
success: function(response) { doCallsToSaveToLocalStorage(response); }
I'm trying to send $_POST data to another page to add sessions for a simple shopping cart.
I have a multiple forms within a PHP while loop each with multiple checkboxes, everything works apart from the checkboxes.
My question is how do I change this piece of code to change "item_extras" into an array?
if(this.checked) item_extras = $(this).val();
I have tried the following but, this just creates one line with all the values instead of another row within the array. If this is too confusing I could create a sample if it helps.
if(this.checked) item_extras += $(this).val();
$('form[id^="add_item_form"]').on('submit', function(){
//alert("On Click Works");
event.preventDefault();
addItem($(this));
});
function addItem(ele) {
//alert("I'm in the addItem Function");
var item_id = ele.parent().parent().find("input[name=item_id]").val(); // get item id
var item_name = ele.parent().parent().find("input[name=item_name]").val(); // get item name
var item_options = ele.parent().parent().find('#options').val(); // get selected option
var item_extras = "";
$item_extras = ele.parent().parent().find('input[name^="extra"]'); // find all extras
$item_extras.each(function() {
if(this.checked) item_extras = $(this).val(); // how do i make this into an array???
});
alert("BEFORE AJAX");
var dataString = 'item_id=' + item_id + '&item_name=' + item_name + '&item_options=' + item_options + '&item_extras[]=' + item_extras;
alert(dataString);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
cache: false,
url: "includes/cart.php",
data: dataString,
success: function () {
$.ajax({
url: 'includes/cart.php',
success: function(data) {
$('#cart').html(data);
alert("AJAX SUCCESS");
}
});
}
});
return false;
}
you can use serialize method. Form.serialize()
$( "form" ).on( "submit", function( event ) {
event.preventDefault();
var data = $(this).serialize();
});
So I'm creating this form validator with PHP and jQuery.
The PHP code will check through the form and then return an array with fields that contain errors. Example: {"email":1,"password":1}
But now I have concerns regarding if no errors were to be found. The problem here is that I've included "return false" in the end of the code to prevent page redirection. I've read that this is bad code practice but not found another way that works as intended.
The second problem is how to pass the o-array into the $('input').each function. Right now it will say that all forms are valid since nothing was passed. If I use $.post instead of $.ajax this scope problem doesn't appear for some reason.
jQuery:
$(function() {
$('#register').submit(function() {
var url = $(this).attr('action');
var data = $(this).serialize();
$.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url: url,
data: data,
success: function(o) {
console.log(o);
$('input').each(function() {
var msgId = o[$(this).attr('name')];
console.log(o[$(this).attr('name')]);
if (msgId > 0) {
$('#listError').css('visibility', 'visible');
$('#listError').append('<li>' + $(this).nextAll('span.msg').eq(msgId - 1).text() + '</li>');
$(this).addClass('invalid');
} else if (msgId != 0) {
$(this).addClass('valid');
}
$('#listError').append('</ul>');
})
}
}, 'json');
return false;
});
});
Fist, why are you submitting a form when you really don't want to?! Use a button instead and make the AJAX request from its click handler.
$('#registerButton').click(function() {
var form = $('#register')
var data = form.serialize();
$.ajax(...);
});
"The second problem is how to pass the o-array into the $('input').each"
What is the problem here? If you have an each() inside a success callback, you can use the data parameter that is passed to the callback (or o in your case) in that each().
Try this
$(function() {
$('#submit_button_id').click(function() {
var url = $(this).attr('action');
var data = $(this).serialize();
var ret = true;
$.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url: url,
async: false,
data: data,
success: function(o) {
console.log(o);
$('input').each(function() {
var msgId = o[$(this).attr('name')];
console.log(o[$(this).attr('name')]);
if (msgId > 0)
ret = false;
$('#listError').css('visibility', 'visible');
$('#listError').append('<li>' + $(this).nextAll('span.msg').eq(msgId - 1).text() + '</li>');
$(this).addClass('invalid');
} else if (msgId != 0) {
$(this).addClass('valid');
}
$('#listError').append('</ul>');
})
}
}, 'json');
if(ret==true){
$('#register').submit();
}
});
});
i have these two jquery scripts on my html page, one of them loads more results(like pagination), and the other one replies to users messages, just like twitter!
the replies works(inserts username into textbox), when the page is on default, but when i load more results, the loaded results wnt insert the username into the textbox!! these are the two scripts,
the replies jquery:
function insertParamIntoField(anchor, param, field) {
var query = anchor.search.substring(1, anchor.search.length).split('&');
for(var i = 0, kv; i < query.length; i++) {
kv = query[i].split('=', 2);
if (kv[0] == param) {
field.val(kv[1]);
return;
}
}
}
$(function () {
$("a.reply").click(function (e) {
insertParamIntoField(this,"status_id",$("#status_id"));
insertParamIntoField(this,"reply_name",$("#reply_name"));
insertParamIntoField(this, "replyto", $("#inputField"));
$("#inputField").focus()
$("#inputField").val($("#inputField").val() + ' ');
e.preventDefault();
return false; // prevent default action
});
});
the loadmore jquery script:
$(function() {
//More Button
$('.more').live("click",function()
{
var ID = $(this).attr("id");
if(ID)
{
$("#more"+ID).html('<img src="moreajax.gif" />');
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "ajax_more.php",
data: "lastmsg="+ ID,
cache: false,
success: function(html){
$("ul.statuses").append(html);
$("#more" + ID).remove();
}
});
}
else
{
$(".morebox").html('The End');
}
return false;
});
});
EDIT: when i load more posts, and i click reply the page is refershed, so that ends up with loaded data being hidden again!!
If the reply button is being replaced by the ajax, this might be a workaround.
$(function () {
$("a.reply").live(click, function (e) {
insertParamIntoField(this,"status_id",$("#status_id"));
insertParamIntoField(this,"reply_name",$("#reply_name"));
insertParamIntoField(this, "replyto", $("#inputField"));
$("#inputField").val($("#inputField").val() + ' ').focus();
e.preventDefault();
});
});
Also... If the status_id, reply_name , replyto info is contained within your reply button, make sure these data exists for each reply button after the more button is clicked.
