I created a new "/blog" directory in Codeigniter 3. I want to install a new Wordpress blog into this new folder.
When I try to load new folder www.mysite.com/blog/, I get an error 404 message. Logs show:
ERROR - 2016-07-15 17:42:40 --> 404 Page Not Found: Blog/index
My .htaccess file content is:
AddDefaultCharset utf-8
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond $1 !^(index.php|resources|robots.txt)
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA]
How can I load (index.php) in my Blog directory by default, without typing index.php in browser's address? Please help me.
You have to create a .htaccess file in your subfolder "/blog".
The content could be like that :
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /blog/
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]
</IfModule>

I have a WordPress website hosted at the root folder and in the same root another CodeIgniter website placed in a folder.
The CodeIgniter site is not loading now. IT shows page not found error
The URL structure will be: http://website.com - wp site and http://website.com/wi/ver1/
which means I put the CodeIgniter site in a folder wi/ver1/.
The htaccess code for the base wp site is :
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
And the httaccess inside the wi/ver1 directory is :
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|css|js|images|robots\.txt)
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?$1 [L]
</IfModule>
Could you please try to help to solve this issue?
First of all check your site_url in wordpress project. Then change your RewriteRule . /index.php [L] with RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?$1 [L] because it contains double backward slashes in your url .
if you want to load your codeigniter site, change base_url in config.php file, add your folder name that url
For example :$config['base_url'] = http://yoursite.com/folder_name/.
This is the URL of my website http://www.harimaumalaysia.my/ when i access through this url i can see my website with out error.
but when i use this URL http://www.harimaumalaysia.my/index.php Its redirecting to this URL www.harimaumalaysia.my/demo1.
how come this is happening while using index.php I changed my website url in database and permalinks but it didn't solved my problem can anyone help me out of this here is my ht-access file.
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
Set rewrite rule for index file like below.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^(css|editor|editordocs|images|js|sysimgdocs)/.*$ - [PT]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . index.php
</IfModule>
I encountered a strange behaviour with WordPress website.
I have created /en folder in the root and want to have another WordPress website there.
The problems appears when I try to open mainwebsite.com/en I'm being redirected to mainwebsite.com/english-post
So, WP gives the priority to the post that is found in the main domain and it's slug begins with "en".
I tried changing the folders name to "ren" and the website in the folder than shows up nicely.
I've checked .htaccess file for some redirects and none is set.
I noticed that this is a typical WP behaviour, as I tested on some "bigger" brands that use WP and same thing happens,ie:
https://www.smashingmagazine.com/en redirects to --> https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/11/enabling-multiscreen-tracking-with-google-analytics/
http://vanheusen.com/en redirects to --> http://vanheusen.com/products/english_shaded_box_silk_tie/
Have any idea how to solve this?
This is my .htaccess file:
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(en/)
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
Try using this rule in your main .htaccess
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/en
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
And then you need this rule below in the .htaccess inside en folder
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /en/
RewriteRule ^index\.php - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /en/index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
Let me know how this works
I uploaded my project to a sub domain of my website. On that sub domain I installed wordpress on it and installed codeingiter to directory called app. The default controller is set to login which shows up when I go to the app/ url but once I click on any of the links "app/create-account or app/login" it takes me to wordpress default 404 error page. I am using codeingiter 3 and have been trying for a few days to get this working correctly. My class names are according to the styles required (ucfirst) and I believe it is something to with my htaccess file. Everything works fine on my localhost.
Current htaccess file in my codeingiter directory "/app/"
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?$1 [L]
Current wordpress htaccess file
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^/app(/*)? - [L,NC]
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
Any suggestions are much appreciated :)
I'm having some issues with a Codeigniter app in a subfolder on my server along with a Wordpress install in the document root. If I hide the index.php of the Codeigniter URL with .htaccess
/codeigniter/.htaccess
DirectoryIndex index.php
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|user_guide|robots\.txt)
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA]
</IfModule>
<IfModule !mod_rewrite.c>
ErrorDocument 404 index.php
</IfModule>
And get Wordpress to ignore /codeigniter with RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(codeigniter).*$
/.htaccess
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(codeigniter).*$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
Then navigate to www.mysite.com/codeigniter/my_controller/my_function, I get a 404 error No input file specified. I found here, that adding a ? after RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php solves the Codeiginiter 404 error.
/codeigniter/.htaccess
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L,QSA]
However I'm now getting a Wordpress 404 error, so it seems if I replace index.php with index.php? in /codeigniter/.htaccess, the Wordpress rewrite rule in /.htaccess, RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(codeigniter).*$ gets ignored. Is there a better way to handle this?
Thanks in advance!
The RewriteBase in the codeigniter directory should say /codeigniter/
RewriteBase /codeigniter
Otherwise the rewrite to index.php ends up going to wordpress' router.
