Trying to get property of non-object. Laravel 5.2 - php

I have problem when I'm trying to check if user has role in database. When I do it outside the model it works fine but for some reason when I need to do it in model I get "Trying to get property of non-object" error. Here is my code:
public function owed_amount() {
$user_total = $this->total_expenses();
$expenses = Expense::where('removed', false)->get();
$total = 0;
foreach ($expenses as $expense) {
$total += $expense->amount;
}
$total_users = 0;
$users = User::get();
foreach ($users as $user) {
if($user->has_role('is-payee')) //Error comes from here!
{
$total_users++;
}
}
$paid_in = $this->total_paid_in();
$got_paid = $this->total_got_paid();
$owed = $user_total - $total/$total_users + $paid_in - $got_paid;
return number_format($owed, 2);
}
public function has_role($data) { //Checking for role in database
$perm = Permission::where('data', $data)->first();
$ptg = PermissionToGroup::where([
'group_id' => $this->usergroup->id,
'perm_id' => $perm->id
])->first();
if($ptg===NULL){ return false; }
else{ return true; }
}
Cheers for your help!

You have to check if there is a result for $perm
public function has_role($data) { //Checking for role in database
$perm = Permission::where('data', $data)->first();
if($perm) {
$ptg = PermissionToGroup::where([
'group_id' => $this->usergroup->id,
'perm_id' => $perm->id
])->first();
if($ptg===NULL){ return false; }
else{ return true; }
}
else
return false;
}

how to run two statements in one funcation

I'm trying to delete from two tables using one function.
Controller code:
public function userdelete()
{
$u_id = $this->uri->segment(3);
$lr_id = $this->uri->segment(3);
$returndata = $this->user_model->user_delete($u_id, $lr_id);
if($returndata) {
$this->session->set_flashdata('successmessage', 'user deleted successfully..');
redirect('users');
} else {
$this->session->set_flashdata('warningmessage', 'Something went wrong..Try again');
redirect('users');
}
}
Modle code:
public function user_delete($lr_id, $u_id ) {
return $this->db->delete('login_roles',['lr_id'=>$lr_id]);
return $this->db->delete('login',['u_id'=>$u_id]);
}
I'm able to delete only from the first table but not the other one. this is working :
return $this->db->delete('login_roles',['lr_id'=>$lr_id]); but not return $this->db->delete('login',['u_id'=>$u_id]);.
As said in the comment you have to remove the first return.
You should compute the two results :
public function user_delete($lr_id, $u_id ) {
$delete1Response = $this->db->delete('login_roles',['lr_id'=>$lr_id]);
$delete2Response = $this->db->delete('login',['u_id'=>$u_id]);
return ($delete1Response AND $delete2Response);
}
It will returns true only if both are deleted
You even can go further and :
public function user_delete($lr_id, $u_id ) {
$delete1Response = $this->db->delete('login_roles',['lr_id'=>$lr_id]);
$delete2Response = $this->db->delete('login',['u_id'=>$u_id]);
return (object)array('role' => $delete1Response, 'user' => $delete2Response);
}
Then you can access to data like that :
$response = user_delete(...);
if ($response->role AND $response->user) {
// All fine
} else {
// One or both failed.
// Display error or do something
}
It never reaches the second $this->db->delete since its returns after executing the first one. Try:
public function user_delete($lr_id, $u_id ) {
if($this->db->delete('login_roles',['lr_id'=>$lr_id])){
//success, try the next one
return $this->db->delete('login',['u_id'=>$u_id]);
}
//failed
return false;
}

Yii2 Dynamic forms action update get error

I have two models in my Yii2 application :
Racks(rackID,rowID,...)
RackObjects(rack_objectID,rackID,objectID,...)
In my racksController I have :
public function actionUpdate($id)
{
$model = $this->findModel($id);
$modelsRackObjects = $model->rackObjects;
if ($model->load(Yii::$app->request->post())) {
$oldIDs = ArrayHelper::map($modelsRackObjects, 'rack_objectID', 'rack_objectID');
$modelsRackObjects = Racks::createMultiple(RackObjects::classname(), $modelsRackObjects);
Racks::loadMultiple($modelsRackObjects, Yii::$app->request->post());
$deletedIDs = array_diff($oldIDs, array_filter(ArrayHelper::map($modelsRackObjects, 'rack_objectID', 'rack_objectID')));
// validate all models
$valid = $model->validate();
$valid = Racks::validateMultiple($modelsRackObjects) && $valid;
if ($valid) {
$transaction = \Yii::$app->db->beginTransaction();
try {
if ($flag = $model->save(false)) {
if (!empty($deletedIDs)) {
Racks::deleteAll(['rackID' => $deletedIDs]);
}
foreach ($modelsRackObjects as $modelRackObjects) {
$modelRackObjects->rackID = $model->rackID;
if (! ($flag = $modelRackObjects->save(false))) {
$transaction->rollBack();
break;
}
}
}
if ($flag) {
$transaction->commit();
return $this->redirect(['view', 'id' => $model->rackID]);
}
} catch (Exception $e) {
$transaction->rollBack();
}
}
}
return $this->render('update', [
'model' => $model,
'modelsRackObjects' => (empty($modelsRackObjects)) ? [new RackObjects] : $modelsRackObjects
]);
}
And in my "Racks Model" I have :
public static function createMultiple($modelClass, $multipleModels = [])
{
$model = new $modelClass;
$formName = $model->formName();
$post = Yii::$app->request->post($formName);
$models = [];
if (! empty($multipleModels)) {
$keys = array_keys(ArrayHelper::map($multipleModels, 'rack_objectID', 'rack_objectID'));
$multipleModels = array_combine($keys, $multipleModels);
}
if ($post && is_array($post)) {
foreach ($post as $i => $item) {
if (isset($item['rack_objectID']) && !empty($item['rack_objectID']) && isset($multipleModels[$item['rack_objectID']])) {
$models[] = $multipleModels[$item['rack_objectID']];
} else {
$models[] = new $modelClass;
}
}
}
unset($model, $formName, $post);
return $models;
}
When I update the racks form and change some rackObjects I get this error :
Integrity constraint violation – yii\db\IntegrityException
SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1451 Cannot delete or update a parent row: a foreign key constraint fails
What is wrong in my action update???
I changed my codes thanks to this answer and now when I update records the child table (rackObjects) duplicated and old records was not deleted!! any idea?
deleteAll() will not raise the beforeDelete event. You should loop through:
$racks = Rack::findAll(['rackID' => $deletedIDs]);
foreach($racks as $rack) {
$rack->delete();
}
And in Rack model, assuming you have hasMany relationship with RackObjects
public function beforeDelete() {
if (parent::beforeDelete()) {
foreach($this->rackObjects as $rackObj) {
$rackObj->delete();
}
return true;
} else {
return false;
}
}

want to pass variable to aftersave() method after save(false) in yii

Actually,
as you see below code,
in model two functions are calling
$this->sendMailtoTutor(),$this->sendMailtoLearner()
i want to check a condition in model that if that condition will true then only these both function will call otherwise not. Is there any way to pass attributes or variable so that i can check condition in aftersave().
my code is as below
in controller
public function actionBooking()
{
$booking_temp = new BookingTemp();
$this->performAjaxValidation($booking_temp);
if (Yii::app()->request->isPostRequest && Yii::app()->request->getPost('BookingTemp'))
{
$booking_temp->attributes = Yii::app()->request->getPost('BookingTemp');
//echo '<pre>';print_r($booking_temp->attributes);exit;
if ($booking_temp->validate())
{
$extra_price = 0;
$post_data = Yii::app()->request->getPost('BookingTemp');
$cam = Cam::model()->findByPk($post_data['temp_cam_id']);
$data = array();
$data = $post_data;
$data['temp_book_user_id'] = Yii::app()->user->id;
$data['temp_book_cam_price'] = $cam->cam_price;
$data['temp_book_duration'] = $cam->cam_duration;
if ($post_data['temp_book_session'] == 2) {
$data['temp_book_cam_price'] = 2 * $cam->cam_price;
$data['temp_book_duration'] = 2 * $cam->cam_duration;
}
if ($post_data['temp_book_is_extra'] == "Y") {
$extra_price = $cam->camExtras->extra_price;
$data['temp_book_extra_price'] = $extra_price;
}
$price_calculation = CamBooking::price_calculation(Yii::app()->user->country_id, $data['temp_book_cam_price'], $extra_price);
$data['temp_book_processing_fees'] = $price_calculation['processing_fees'];
$data['temp_book_service_tax'] = $price_calculation['service_tax'];
$data['temp_book_total_price'] = $price_calculation['total_price'];
$booking_temp->temp_value = serialize($data);
$booking_temp->user_id = Yii::app()->user->id;
$booking_temp->tutor_id = $cam->tutor_id;
$booking_temp_variable = 'check_aftersave';
$booking_temp->save(false, $booking_temp_variable);
//$booking_temp->saveAttributes(array('tutor_id', 'user_id', 'temp_value'));
$created_at = Yii::app()->localtime->fromUTC($booking_temp->created_at);
$created_at_time = strtotime($created_at);
$end_time = $created_at_time + (60 * 3); // 3 min greater from created
$end_time_format = date("Y/m/d H:i:s", $end_time);
echo json_encode(array(
'status' => 'success',
'temp_guid' => $booking_temp->temp_guid,
'end_time_format' => $end_time_format,
), JSON_UNESCAPED_SLASHES);
Yii::app()->end();
} else {
$error = CActiveForm::validate($booking_temp);
if ($error != '[]')
echo $error;
Yii::app()->end();
}
}
}
in model
protected function afterSave()
{
if ($this->isNewRecord)
{
$this->sendMailtoTutor();
$this->sendMailtoLearner();
if ($this->is_message == 'Y' && !empty($this->book_message))
{
Message::insertMessage($this->book_message, $this->book_user_id, $this->cam->tutor_id, $this->cam_id);
}
$user_profile_link = CHtml::link($this->bookUser->fullname, array("/site/user/profile", "slug" => $this->bookUser->slug));
$cam_link = CHtml::link($this->cam->cam_title, array("/site/cam/view", "slug" => $this->cam->slug));
$message = "You have a new booking from {$user_profile_link} for your {$cam_link}";
Notification::insertNotification($this->cam->tutor_id, $message, 'book', $this->book_id);
}
return parent::afterSave();
}
How can I perform this?
Hi See if you want to do it in the afterSave() of BookingTemp Model;. Then you can define a variable in that model like
like
class BookingTemp extends CActiveRecord
{
public $booking_temp_variable;
............
}
now assign this variable before saving your model in actionBooking();
as
$booking_temp->booking_temp_variable = 'check_aftersave';
$booking_temp->save(false);// no need to pass a varible
now in your aftersave function you can easily get it like
protected function afterSave()
{
if ($this->isNewRecord)
{
$this->booking_temp_variable; // this has your value
}
return parent::afterSave();
}
Don't forget to keep it in rules as safe
public function rules(){
// your rules
array('booking_temp_variable','safe');
}
What exacly you want to do?
At first you have to know, that when you are calling save() method and u pass there two args - false and, $booking_temp_variable . The first arg says that you do not run validation, the second one is (should be) array of attributes.

how to check callback validation codeigniter duplicate database entry?

This is my callback function, I want to check the database for duplicate value, I have tried a lot, but I can't get validation to work. I'm new to Codeigniter so any help would be appreciated!
public function alias_exist_check()
{
$scol_code = $this->input->post('school_code');
$user_id=$this->input->post('user_id');
$query=$this->db->get_where('user_application',array('school_code'=>$scol_code, 'user_id'=>$user_id));
$row= $query->row_array();
if(!$row['user_id']==$user_id && !$row['school_code']==$scol_code)
{
return TRUE;
} else {
$this->form_validation->set_message('alias_exist_check', 'Already exists.');
return FALSE;
}
}
UPDATE1 ::
i tried this but its not working me help me if i wrote any mistakes.
$this->form_validation->set_rules('school_code', 'School Name','required','callback_alias_exist_check', 'trim|xss_clean'); $where = array(
'school_code' => $this->input->post('school_code'),
'user_id' => $this->input->post('post'));
if( ! $this->lawschool_model->alias_exist_check($where))
{
$this->form_validation->set_message('alias_exist_check', 'Already exists.');
}
if ($this->form_validation->run() == FALSE)
{
$data['row']= $this->lawschool_model->Getuser($data1);
$data['row1']= $this->lawschool_model->GetData1();
$this->ag_auth->view('Home',$data);
}
else
{
$insert = $this->db->insert('user_application',$data);
if($insert==TRUE)
{
/*$idNum = $this->input->post('school_code');
$data1 = $this->lawschool_model->upddata_school();*/
$data['row'] = $this->lawschool_model->Getuser($data1);
$data['row1'] = $this->lawschool_model->GetData1();
$this->ag_auth->view('Home',$data);
}
}
UPDATE2::finaly its works fine,here is my working code
$this->form_validation->set_rules('school_code', 'School Name','required','callback_alias_exist_check1', 'trim|xss_clean');
function alias_exist_check1($scol_code,$user_id)
{
$sql = "SELECT * FROM user_application WHERE school_code = ? AND user_id = ?";
$val = $this->db->query($sql,array($scol_code ,$user_id ));
if ($val->num_rows)
{
$this->form_validation->set_message('alias_exist_check', 'Already exists.');
return TRUE;
}
else
{
return FALSE;
}
}
Model
public function alias_exist($where)
{
return $this->db->where($where)->count_all_results('user_application') > 0;
}
Controller
public function alias_exist_check()
{
$where = array(
'school_code' => $this->input->post('school_code'),
'user_id' => $this->input->post('user_id')
);
return ! $this->name_model->alias_exist($where);
}
The first function was not working because you tried to access post data from within the callback itself. This does not appear to work well with callbacks. This is because codeigniter will remove all post data from the request as soon as your run the form validator run method. It repopulates post data only when form processing is complete. Pass any extra parameters you need for you callback functions to work like this
callback_foo[bar]

save form field in component params joomla

I am using joomla 2.5, I am working on custom component of joomla . I have created the form in backend admin page. what i need is , i want to save the post data of form in params row of that component in database of #_extensions.
Here is my tables/component.php
<?php defined('_JEXEC') or die('Restricted access');
jimport('joomla.database.table');
class componentTablecomponent extends JTable {
function __construct(&$db)
{
parent::__construct('#__extensions', 'extension_id', $db);
}
public function bind($array, $ignore = '')
{
if (isset($array['params']) && is_array($array['params']))
{
// Convert the params field to a string.
$parameter = new JRegistry;
$parameter->loadArray($array['params']);
$array['params'] = (string)$parameter;
}
return parent::bind($array, $ignore);
}
public function load($pk = null, $reset = true)
{
if (parent::load($pk, $reset))
{
// Convert the params field to a registry.
$params = new JRegistry;
$params->loadJSON($this->params);
$this->params = $params;
return true;
}
else
{
return false;
}
} public function store() {
parent::store(null);
}
}
Instead of saving the $data in params row of that component . This code is creating new empty rows in that table(data is saving in those params field).
Here is my save() function in controllers/component.php
public function save()
{
// Check for request forgeries.
JSession::checkToken() or jexit(JText::_('JINVALID_TOKEN'));
// Check if the user is authorized to do this.
if (!JFactory::getUser()->authorise('core.admin'))
{
`JFactory::getApplication()->redirect('index.php',JText::_('JERROR_ALERTNOAUTHOR'));`
return;
}
// Initialise variables.
$app = JFactory::getApplication();
$model = $this->getModel('component');
$form = $model->getForm();
$data = JRequest::getVar('jform', array(), 'post', 'array');
print_r($data);
// Validate the posted data.
$return = $model->validate($form, $data);
// Check for validation errors.
if ($return === false)
{
// Get the validation messages.
$errors = $model->getErrors();
// Push up to three validation messages out to the user.
for ($i = 0, $n = count($errors); $i < $n && $i < 3; $i++) {
if ($errors[$i] instanceof Exception) {
$app->enqueueMessage($errors[$i]->getMessage(), 'warning');
} else {
$app->enqueueMessage($errors[$i], 'warning');
}
}
// Redirect back to the edit screen.
$this->setRedirect(JRoute::_('somelink',false));
return false;
}
// Attempt to save the configuration.
$data = $return;
$return = $model->save($data);
// Check the return value.
if ($return === false)
{
// Save failed, go back to the screen and display a notice.
$message = JText::sprintf('JERROR_SAVE_FAILED', $model->getError());
$this->setRedirect('index.php/somelink','error');
return false;
}
// Set the success message.
$message = JText::_('COM_CONFIG_SAVE_SUCCESS');
// Set the redirect based on the task.
switch ($this->getTask())
{
case 'apply':
$this->setRedirect('somelink',$message);

case 'cancel':
case 'save':

$this->setRedirect('index.php', $message);
break;
}
return true;
}
models/component.php
public function save($data) {
parent::save($data);
return true;
}
I thinks these codes are enough . I can add more codes if you need.
If you want to store params in the extension table, why not just use com_config for it?
See http://docs.joomla.org/J2.5:Developing_a_MVC_Component/Adding_configuration
Then you don't have to do anything besides creating the config.xml and adding a link to the config options in the toolbar.
I have come up with a solution . it works for me . By using this method you can control save () functions i.e. you can run your custom php scripts on save, apply toolbar buttons.
I copied save(),save($data), store($updateNulls = false) functions from com_config component , I have copied the layout from component view . Removed the buttons. Added toolbar buttons in .html.php file.
