Send ajax request for multiple urls - php

I want to trigger 2 emails with different templates for different recipients. I tired to add another url next to url:, however it didn't work. Is there a way to add more that one emailer to ajax request? Your advice is much appreciated. Thanks
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "../wp-admin/emailer.php","../wp-admin/emailer2.php" // add more emailers
data: dataString,
success: function(){ return true;}
});
window.location.href = "thank-you";

You can't do that becuase a single AJAX request can only talk to one URL, but you can create multiple AJAX requests for different URLs, and they will do their work simultaneously - you wouldn't need to wait for one to complete before firing off the next one. So in that case you have to take an array where you reserve all the urls.Then you need is $.each and the two parameter form of $.ajax
var urls = ['/url/one','/url/two', ....];
$.each(urls, function(i,u){
$.ajax(u,
{ type: "POST",
data: dataString;
success: function(){
return true;
}
}
);
});
window.location.href = "thank-you";
}

Can use $.when() to fire after multiple requests succeed:
var req1 = $.post("../wp-admin/emailer.php", dataString);
var req2 = $.post("../wp-admin/emailer2.php", dataString);
$.when(req1,req2).then(function(){
// all requests succeeded
window.location.href = "thank-you";
}).fail(function(){
// oops, something went wrong with at least one of the requests
})

If you want to handle the callback for each email and given you will have less than 100 emails, you can use recursion
Eg Show a thank you only when all the emails have been sent successfully
var urls=["url1","url2","url3","url4"];
var done=true;
function sendEmails(){
if(urls.length==0 && done){
alert("All emails sent successfully");
return true;
}else if(urls.length>0 && !done){
alert("There was an error");
return true;
}
else{
var url=urls.pop();
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: url,
data: dataString,
success: function(){
sendEmails()
},
error:function(){
done=false;
sendEmails();
}
});
}
}
sendEmails();

Use This Methods to Call Multiple URl withb Data....
It also help for future call or Dynamic call in any where in Your code
function sendMyAjax(URLAdd,dataString){
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: URLAdd
data: dataString,
success: function(){ return true;}
});
window.location.href = "thank-you";
}
};
sendMyAjax("../wp-admin/emailer.php","DataString");
sendMyAjax("../wp-admin/emailer.php","DataString");
You Can Use Array for the store URL and Data

jQuery Ajax(post), data not being received by PHP

The Ajax function below sends data from a page to the same page where it is interpreted by PHP.
Using Firebug we can see that the data is sent, however it is not received by the PHP page. If we change it to a $.get function and $_GET the data in PHP then it works.
Why does it not work with $.post and $_POST
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: 'http://www.example.com/page-in-question',
data: obj,
success: function(data){ alert(data)},
dataType: 'json'
});
if there is a problem, it probably in your php page.
Try to browse the php page directly in the browser and check what is your output.
If you need some inputs from post just change it to the GET in order to debug
try this
var sname = $("#sname").val();
var lname = $("#lname").val();
var html = $.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "ajax.class.php",
data: "sname=" + sname +"&lname="+ lname ,
async: false
}).responseText;
if(html)
{
alert(html);
return false;
}
else
{
alert(html);
return true;
}
alax.class.php
<php
echo $_REQUEST['sname'];
echo $_REQUEST['sname'];
?>
Ajax on same page will not work to show data via POST etc because, PHP has already run that's why you would typically use the external page to process your data and then use ajax to grab the response.
example
success: function(){
$('#responseDiv').text(data);
}
You are posting the data... Check if the target is returning some data or not.
if it returns some data then only you can see the data otherwise not.
add both success and error.. so that you can get what exactly
success: function( data,textStatus,jqXHR ){
console.log(data);//if it returns any data
console.log(textStatus);//or alert(textStatus);
}
error: function( jqXHR,textStatus,errorThrown ){
console.log("There is some error");
console.log(errorThrown);
}

Send data from Javascript to PHP and use PHP's response as variable in JS

I have checked around, but can't seem to figure out how this is done.
I would like to send form data to PHP to have it processed and inserted into a database (this is working).
Then I would like to send a variable ($selected_moid) back from PHP to a JavaScript function (the same one if possible) so that it can be used again.
function submit_data() {
"use strict";
$.post('insert.php', $('#formName').formSerialize());
$.get('add_host.cgi?moid='.$selected_moid.');
}
Here is my latest attempt, but still getting errors:
PHP:
$get_moid = "
SELECT ID FROM nagios.view_all_monitored_objects
WHERE CoID='$company'
AND MoTypeID='$type'
AND MoName='$name'
AND DNS='$name.$selected_shortname.mon'
AND IP='$ip'
";
while($MonitoredObjectID = mysql_fetch_row($get_moid)){
//Sets MonitoredObjectID for added/edited device.
$Response = $MonitoredObjectID;
if ($logon_choice = '1') {
$Response = $Response'&'$logon_id;
$Response = $Response'&'$logon_pwd;
}
}
echo json_encode($response);
JS:
function submit_data(action, formName) {
"use strict";
$.ajax({
cache: false,
type: 'POST',
url: 'library/plugins/' + action + '.php',
data: $('#' + formName).serialize(),
success: function (response) {
// PROCESS DATA HERE
var resp = $.parseJSON(response);
$.get('/nagios/cgi-bin/add_host.cgi', {moid: resp });
alert('success!');
},
error: function (response) {
//PROCESS HERE FOR FAILURE
alert('failure 'response);
}
});
}
I am going out on a limb on this since your question is not 100% clear. First of all, Javascript AJAX calls are asynchronous, meaning both the $.get and $.post will be call almost simultaneously.
If you are trying to get the response from one and using it in a second call, then you need to nest them in the success function. Since you are using jQuery, take a look at their API to see the arguments your AJAX call can handle (http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.post/)
$.post('insert.php', $('#formName').formSerialize(),function(data){
$.get('add_host.cgi?moid='+data);
});
In your PHP script, after you have updated the database and everything, just echo the data want. Javascript will take the text and put it in the data variable in the success function.
You need to use a callback function to get the returned value.
function submit_data(action, formName) {
"use strict";
$.post('insert.php', $('#' + formName).formSerialize(), function (selected_moid) {
$.get('add_host.cgi', {moid: selected_moid });
});
}
$("ID OF THE SUBMIT BUTTON").click(function() {
$.ajax({
cache: false,
type: 'POST',
url: 'FILE IN HERE FOR PROCESSING',
data: $("ID HERE OF THE FORM").serialize(),
success: function(data) {
// PROCESS DATA HERE
},
error: function(data) {
//PROCESS HERE FOR FAILURE
}
});
return false; //This stops the Button from Actually Preforming
});
Now for the Php
<?php
start_session(); <-- This will make it share the same Session Princables
//error check and soforth use $_POST[] to get everything
$Response = array('success'=>true, 'VAR'=>'DATA'); <--- Success
$Response = array('success'=>false, 'VAR'=>'DATA'); <--- fails
echo json_encode($Response);
?>
I forgot to Mention, this is using JavaScript/jQuery, and ajax to do this.
Example of this as a Function
Var Form_Data = THIS IS THE DATA OF THE FORM;
function YOUR FUNCTION HERE(VARS HERE) {
$.ajax({
cache: false,
type: 'POST',
url: 'FILE IN HERE FOR PROCESSING',
data:Form_Data.serialize(),
success: function(data) {
// PROCESS DATA HERE
},
error: function(data) {
//PROCESS HERE FOR FAILURE
}
});
}
Now you could use this as the Button Click which would also function :3

Sending back multiple results from PHP via AJAX

i have setup some ajax, which i am just testing now, pretty much the idea behind it is to send some data from dropdown boxes to a php script, do some calculations and then return the result, it does it well and returns the result, but now rather than just sending back one result and outputting that, i want to send back multiple results and output them, i am able to send multiple data to the php script, so i am sure i can send multiple back.
Anyway it only sends the first result back and not the rest.
Here is the AJAX
<script>
$("document").ready(function (){
$(".add_extension").change(function(){
var m = document.getElementById('meter_square');
var meter_square = m.options[m.selectedIndex].value;
var s = document.getElementById('story_height');
var story_height = s.options[s.selectedIndex].value;
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "script.php",
data: { meter_square: meter_square, story_height: story_height },
dataType: "json",
statusCode: {
200: function (result, result2)
{
$("#expected_gain").html(result.value);
$("#house_price").html(result2.value2);
}
}
});
})
});
</script>
And here is the php script
<?php
$meter_square = $_GET["meter_square"];
$story_height = $_GET["story_height"];
$result = $meter_square + $story_height;
$result2 = $meter_square * $story_height;
echo json_encode(array("value" => $result, "value2" => $result2));
?>
You can see that i have already tried to give it a go from what i thought might work, if you need any other code or want me to remove the code i added which doesn't work, then let me know.
Thanks for all and any help
You're only going to receive one response object:
function (response) {
$("#expected_gain").html(response.value);
$("#house_price").html(response.value2);
}
Try this. Think it will help. No need to use status codes if u gonna use only success case
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "script.php",
data: { meter_square: meter_square, story_height: story_height },
dataType: "json",
success: function(data){
$("#expected_gain").html(data.value);
$("#house_price").html(data.value2);
}
});

return php variable to jquery ajax

I have an ajax function in jquery calling a php file to perform some operation on my database, but the result may vary. I want to output a different message whether it succeeded or not
i have this :
echo '<button id="remove_dir" onclick="removed('.$dir_id.')">remove directory</button>';
<script type="text/javascript">
function removed(did){
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "rmdir.php",
data: {dir_id: did},
success: function(rmd){
if(rmd==0)
alert("deleted");
else
alert("not empty");
window.location.reload(true);
}
});
}
</script>
and this
<?php
require('bdd_connect.php');
require('functions/file_operation.php');
if(isset($_POST['dir_id'])){
$rmd=remove_dir($_POST['dir_id'],$bdd);
}
?>
my question is, how to return $rmd so in the $.ajax, i can alert the correct message ?
thank you for your answers
PHP
<?php
require('bdd_connect.php');
require('functions/file_operation.php');
if (isset($_POST['dir_id'])){
$rmd=remove_dir($dir_id,$bdd);
echo $rmd;
}
?>
JS
function removed(did){
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "rmdir.php",
data: {dir_id: did}
}).done(function(rmd) {
if (rmd===0) {
alert("deleted");
}else{
alert("not empty");
window.location.reload(true);
}
});
}
i advice to use json or :
if(isset($_POST['dir_id'])){
$rmd=remove_dir($dir_id,$bdd);
echo $rmd;
}
You need your php file to send something back, then you need the ajax call on the original page to behave based on the response.
php:
if(isset($_POST['dir_id'])){
$rmd=remove_dir($dir_id,$bdd);
echo "{'rmd':$rmd}";
}
which will output one of two things: {"rmd": 0} or {"rmd": 1}
We can simulate this return on jsBin
Then use jquery to get the value and do something based on the response in our callback:
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
dataType: 'json',
url: "http://jsbin.com/iwokag/3",
success: function(data){
alert('rmd = ' + data.rmd)
}
});
View the code, then watch it run.
Only I didn't send any data here, my example page always returns the same response.
Just try echoing $rmd in your ajax file, and then watching the console (try console.log(rmd) in your ajax response block)
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "rmdir.php",
data: {dir_id: did},
success: function(rmd){
console.log(rmd);
}
});
You can then act accordingly based on the response
Try echo the $rmd out in the php code, as an return to the ajax.
if(isset($_POST['dir_id'])){
$rmd=remove_dir($dir_id,$bdd);
//if $rmd = 1 alert('directory not empty');
//if $rmd = 0 alert('directory deleted');
echo $rmd;
}
Your "rmd" in success: function(rmd) should receive the callabck.

Workaround possible for cURL and Javascript?

Everything was going great in my previous help request thread. I was on the correct track to get around a CSRF, but needed to be pointed in the right direction. I received great help and even an alternate script used to log into Google's Android Market. Both my script and the one I altered to match my form is get hung up at the same point. Apparently cURL cannot process JS, is there any way to work around the form being submitted with submitForm() without changing the form?
Here is the code for the SubmitForm function
function submitForm(formObj, formMode) {
if (!formObj)
return false;
if (formObj.tagName != "FORM") {
if (!formObj.form)
return false;
formObj = formObj.form;
}
if (formObj.mode)
formObj.mode.value = formMode;
formObj.submit();
}
Here is the code for the submit button -
<a class="VertMenuItems" href="javascript: document.authform.submit();">Submit</a>
Here is a link to my last question in case more background information is needed.
