I'm working (for the firs time) with MVC model and I'm having some problems when displaying the errors warnings...
For example I got this
Controller:
include_once(UserModel.php);
$userdata = new User_Model();
$biography = $userdata->Get_UserBio();
Model:
include_once(conexion.php);
//I make my prepared query and...
if ($user_infoprofile->execute()):
$data= $user_infoprofile->get_result();
if ($data->num_rows):
while ($result=$data->fetch_array()):
$this->userbio[]=$result;
endwhile;
else:
//I want to display something like
$error= "you have to fill your bio",
echo $error;
endif;
else:
$error="invalid request";
echo $error;
endif;
return $this->userbio;
$user_infoprofile->close();
View:
include_once(UserController.php);
//if there are rows in the array I display
foreach...
//But heres my problem... if there are not rows in the array... I want to display something else
How can I do it? I'm kind of beginner on this, or is there any other more clean way to do it?
Use quotes in your require functions. Like this : include_once('UserModel.php');. If you want to display all errors, you can do it with this lines :
<?php
error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors', 1);
if(empty($var_array)){
echo "There is not results...";
}else{
foreach....
}
Do you mean how to check if the array is empty?
ok but, the problem is how to doit in a specific part of my view.php file... because If I use 'echo' this message will appear anywhere and not where I would want to...

Need help with some php to modify a WP plugin which is paid memberships pro. Terrible at php here.
What am trying to do is create one line of code that would say if the membership level equals XXX then print this link. SO the variable I would need are somewhere in this line I imagine:
<li><strong><?php _e('Membership Level', 'paid-memberships-pro' );?>:
</strong> <?php echo $current_user->membership_level->name?></li>
The above is just a snippet of code already found in the page I want to create this if/then link statement.
so something like:
<?php if($Membership Level == $Conflicts of Interest #14124(that's the name
of one level) then print this link.
AM I making sense?
Edit:
Thanks to some help below, this seems to work:
<?php if($membership_level == 'Conflicts of Interest #14124') {
echo "<a href=\"conflicts-of-interest-in-modern-legal-practice-and-internal-
investigations-14124/\">Testing</a>";
}
?>
But the 'Conflicts of Interest #14124' doesn't match even though it is the correct name.
Then general If else statement in the html page
<?php if($membership_level == 'string to be compared') {
echo 'the link that you want to print if it is a string. you can replace this string
with a variable if the value is in variable'
} else {
'any other text if require else you can remove the else block'
}
?>
Hope that helps.
I developing a Intranet and I'm a bit stuck with allowing access for individual users. All works fine when I limit the access to an element, if that element in at the bottom/last element. I need this to usable where ever I want. If you are in the Directors group, get the element. If you are in the All group only, you get nothing. Any help would be great.
The HTML:
.....
<?php include('admin/Directors.php');
echo 'foooooo':
?>
....
<?php include('admin/All.php');
echo 'baaaar':
?>
...
The PHP (Directors.php):
<?php
session_start();
$allowed_users = array('mark','joe','allan');
if(!in_array($_SESSION['user'],$allowed_users)) die('');
?>
From wat I understand is happening here is that its reading the Directors.php file and applying it to entire HTML file.
Try this In your Directors.php:
session_start();
$allowed_users = array('mark','joe','allan');
return in_array($_SESSION['user'],$allowed_users));
And this in your html:
$allowed = include('admin/Directors.php');
if($allowed)
{
echo 'foooooo';
}
Instead of killing script with die() simply return the evaluation value check it in your html. But if there is other stuff in Director.php you can do this.
Try this In your Directors.php:
session_start();
$allowed_users = array('mark','joe','allan');
$allowed =in_array($_SESSION['user'],$allowed_users));
And this in your html:
include('admin/Directors.php');
if($allowed)
{
echo 'foooooo';
}
With this snippet of code, I'm attempting to show a clickable link (if "admin" is logged in), which will redirect me to adminarea.php
Right now it just prints out "Admin" in text. Nothing to click on. Just simple text.
Am I missing anything? Surely I got it wrong but I cannot see what's missing.
Here is the code:
<?php if (getUser("user") == "admin") { ?>
<option value="adminarea.php">Admin</option>
<?php } ?>
You're printing an option, which is part of the select form input. You're probably looking for an anchor?
Admin
Possibly a better way to do this would be to declare two options for a variable in your PHP first. Something like:
<?php
if(getUser("user") == "admin") {
$adminlink = 'Admin';
} else {
$adminlink = NULL;
}
?>
And in the html:
<?php echo $adminlink; ?>
This would show the href link if the PHP condition was true, and would display nothing if not. Hope this helps!
Well based on your title am assuming you want a link. By the way you can use PHP friend html syntax instead of making the code look "dirty".
<?php if(getUser("user") == "admin"): ?>
Admin
<?php endif; ?>
I researched here in stackoverflow trying to find whether someone is also encountering the same problem. I know it's kind of easy and even I really don't know what's the error because there's no problem with my query.
On the previous page, here's my code to retrieve the ID Number so I'll be able to select the data with that ID number:
<?php echo $row['place_name'];?>
I tried first to print the value of the place id and it works fine.
But when it was being called to the Package page, the data I want to show weren't displayed.
I look at the URL and it shows this after the package.php
place_id=
I don't know why it is blank, please check my code if there's missing or just wrong.
In my package page, here's the PHP code:
<?php
include("common/connect.php");
$place_id = $_GET['place_id'];
$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM package_items WHERE place_id = '$place_id'");
$row1 = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query("SELECT place_name FROM packages WHERE place_id = '$place_id'"));
if($result === FALSE) {
die(mysql_error()); // for better error handling
}
?>
In HTML Code:
<h1><?php echo $row1['place_name'];?></h1>
<?php while($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) {?>
<?php echo $row['item_title'];?>
<br>
Back
<?php } ?>
Please check my codes. Thanks.
You are not printing it.
Change
<?php $row['place_id'];?> // It will output nothing as no echo or print.
To
<?php echo $row['place_id'];?>
Rest of the code looks fine.
Three suggestions:
1)
$place_id = $_GET['place_id'];
Change to
$place_id = ! empty($_GET['place_id']) ? $_GET['place_id'] : ''; // To avoid any warning.
2) Don't feed variable from $_GET or $_POST to any SQL.
3) Don't use mysql_ functions as they are deprecated and will be remove in future versions of PHP.
So i'm writing this code so that you either get forwarded to a certain page if you're the first one to hit the link, or you are sent back to the original page after being displayed a message if you're not what beginner mistake am i making?
<?php
$count = file_get_contents('counter.txt');
$count = trim($count);
if ($count="0")
{
$count = $count + 1;
$fl = fopen("counter.txt","w+");
fwrite($fl,$count);
fclose($fl);
header("Location: newpage.html");
}
else
{
fclose($fl);
echo "Sorry but the item has already been sold out";
header("Location: oldpage.html");
}
?>
As for the delay, you can accomplish it two different ways. The first is to use PHP header (like you are currently doing), but change it to look like this:
<?php
header("refresh:5;url=oldpage.html");
echo "Sorry but the item has already been sold out";
?>
The other way is to echo out a piece of HTML code, the meta-refresh:
<?php
echo '<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2;url=oldpage.html">';
echo "Sorry but the item has already been sold out";
?>
In both examples, 5 is the amount of seconds until the refresh. Experiment with each one to see if it will fit your needs.
This might be some sort of syntax that I'm not familiar with, but none of my scripts have ever had the
<? code
I simply use
<?
Also since you did not delay our header tag the user will not see the previously echoed statement above it. It will automatically redirect before the page has time to output fully.
