I am trying to post some form data to Google Datastore, using this documentation here and here. I am struggling with knowing how to post the form data to the datastore, but I thought I had cracked it when I got the following error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'use' (T_USE) in record-usage.php on line 23
So my question is in two parts:
how do I post data to the Datastore from my form? (the examples in the documentation seem to offer two different ways of posting to the store)
how do I fix this syntax error?
Here is my code (it's actually line 7 in the sample below):
if(isset($_POST['submit'])) {
# Includes the autoloader for libraries installed with composer
require __DIR__ . '/vendor/autoload.php';
# Imports the Google Cloud client library
use Google\Cloud\Datastore\DatastoreClient;
# Your Google Cloud Platform project ID
$projectId = 'room-usage';
# Instantiates a client
$datastore = new DatastoreClient([
'projectId' => $projectId
]);
# The kind for the new entity
$kind = 'RoomUsage';
# The name/ID for the new entity
$name = $roomname + $_POST('timestamp');
# The Cloud Datastore key for the new entity
$taskKey = $datastore->key($kind, $name);
if($_POST('countinput') == '') {
$formdata->Headcount = $_POST('countslider');
} else {
$formdata->Headcount = $_POST('countinput');
}
$formdata->Timestamp = $_POST('timestamp');
$formdata->EnteredBy = $_POST('userid');
$formdata->RoomID = $_POST('roomid');
$formdata->Activity = $_POST('activity');
$formdata->Estimate = $_POST('estimate');
$formdata->NotAudited = $_POST('notaudited');
$formdata->Reason = $_POST('reason');
function save_room_usage(DatastoreClient $datastore, $formdata) {
$RoomUsage = $datastore->RoomUsage();
$transaction->updateBatch([$formdata]);
$transaction->commit();
}
# Prepares the new entity
$task = $datastore->entity($taskKey,
['Timestamp' => $_POST('timestamp'),
'Headcount' => $formdata->Headcount,
'EnteredBy' => $_POST('userid'),
'RoomID' => $_POST('roomid'),
'Activity' => $_POST('activity'),
'Estimate' => $_POST('estimate'),
'NotAudited' => $_POST('notaudited'),
'Reason' => $_POST('reason')]);
# Saves the entity
$datastore->upsert($task);
$status = 'Saved ' . $task->key() . ': ' . $task['description'];
}
Use
You can't have use inside a function. Think of it like an import.
Instead, move it outside of the method but inside your namespace. Simplest way to get going is just move it to the top of your file.
Writing data
Looking at this code:
$transaction->updateBatch([$formdata]);
$transaction->commit();
I think you've misinterpreted the transaction documentation. In the code example it presents, it first reads entities from Datastore via a Batch Lookup, then writes them back as a batch with:
$transaction->updateBatch([$fromAccount, $toAccount]);
In that example $fromAccount and $toAccount are proper entities with keys.
In your example, you are trying to batch write just a bunch of random data. Since you are only writing one record, you should delete that code.
The second part of your code where you create an entity and then upsert it should work. If you did end up needing to write more than one entity in a transaction, it is $task that you would use in the updateBatch method rather than the raw data.

I am working on google datastore. I need to create a Log kind of entity having user entity as its parent. I am using Google-api-php-client library to integrate the api in php. I am succeed in creating entites. To insert an entity I'm using following functions.
/*
*Function to insert the entity into the google datastore.
*/
function google_set_insert($data) {
$field_set = $data['field_set'];
$entity_kind = $data['entity_kind'];
$entity_name = $data['entity_name'];
$entity = google_create_entity($field_set, $entity_kind, $entity_name);
$mutation = new Google_Service_Datastore_Mutation();
$mutation->setInsert($entity);
$req = new Google_Service_Datastore_CommitRequest();
$req->setMode('NON_TRANSACTIONAL');
$req->setMutations($mutation);
return $req;
}
But I am unable to create the ancestor of an entity. Can you please tell me what I am missing?
We recommend using the Google Cloud PHP client library (as long as you are not on GAE Standard).
You need to add the ancestor when you first create the entity, since it cannot be changed once initially written.
use Google\Cloud\Datastore\DatastoreClient;
$datastore = new DatastoreClient();
$key = $datastore->key('Person', 'Bob');
$key->ancestor('Parents', 'Joe');
$entity = $datastore->entity($key, [
'firstName' => 'Bob',
'lastName' => 'Testguy'
]);
echo $entity['firstName']; // 'Bob'
$entity['location'] = 'Detroit, MI';
See more in the documentation for keys.
I am trying to clean up my site by putting all of my configurations in one place for easy access.
I have many different configuration dependencies for example, PayPal and Stripe public/private and sandbox/live keys as well as a number of links e.g. google recaptcha links.
I don't want to be spreading these keys around my app and then need to go hunting for them if I want to go from sandbox to live for example.
I am trying to define my API keys and most used links in the CodeIgniter config.php file like this...
$config['stripe_live'] = [
'secret' => 'secret_key_xyz',
'private' => 'private_key_xyz',
]
$config['stripe_sandbox'] = [
'secret' => 'secret_key_xyz',
'private' => 'private_key_xyz',
]
$config['paypal'] = [
'secret' => 'secret_key_xyz',
'private' => 'private_key_xyz',
]
$config['recaptcha'] = [
'site_key' => 'xyz_one_two_three',
'secret_key' => 'xyz_one_two_three',
];
$config['jquery'] = [
['jquery_link'] => base_url() . 'Public/js/jquery.js',
]
$config['bootstrap'] = [
['bootstrap_link'] => base_url() . 'Public/js/jquery.js',
]
$config['fontawesome'] = [
]
$config['google_fonts'] = [
];
$config['groupworld'] = [
'groupworld_api' => 'api_key_xyz';
];
Question one:
If I wanted to access my Stripe live private key I would have to write...
$stripe_live = $this->config->item('stripe_live');
$stripe_live['public_key'];
This is almost as much work as just copying the key to where I need it (one or two places). So is there a simpler way?
Question two:
Is is okay to put my urls in the config file like in my example above? Or would it be better to define my URLs as constants (in the constants file) and then simply access them as constants instead of writing out $this->config->item('bootstrap_link')
Thanks.
After looking at the CodeIgniter Config documentation I have come up with the following solution at least for my API configuration settings, in the example below I am using the google recaptcha API.
1 - Make a new file inside of the application/config folder and call it whatever you want... e.g. api_config.php
Inside this file put your API keys like this:
// stripe api
$config["stripe_live_public_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
$config["stripe_live_private_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
$config["stripe_sandbox_public_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
$config["stripe_sandbox_private_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
// paypal api
$config["paypal_live_public_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
$config["paypal_live_private_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
$config["paypal_sandbox_public_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
$config["paypal_sandbox_private_key"] = "public_key_xyz";
// recaptcha api
$config["recaptcha_api_url"] = 'https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js';
$config["recaptcha_verification_url"] = "https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/siteverify";
$config["recaptcha_public_key"] = "lfgksl;dfg;kkkkdsjfhskjfhkjsdhfjshjksjdh";
$config["recaptcha_private_key"] = "sfkljslfjsjfahjjjjjjhjhsdfjskhajkakkajdj";
// groupworld api
// phpmailer api
2 - In the controller file load your config file and mass the data to the view like this...
$this->config->load('api_config');
$data['recaptcha_api_url'] = $this->config->item('recaptcha_api_url');
$data['recaptcha_public_key'] = $this->config->item('recaptcha_public_key');
3 - In the view file simply display your data...
<script src="<?php echo $recaptcha_api_url; ?>"></script>
<div class="g-recaptcha" data-sitekey="<?php echo $recaptcha_public_key; ?>"></div>
Now to change your config data in multiple places simply go to the api_config.php file and paste in your new keys.
As I'm a newbie can't comment :/ .
I will start with question 2. Its ok to keep like this. But stripe,paypal are payment gateways it will be good to store it in db as Yogesh said and retrieve to use it.It will also comes in handy if you want to provide user to edit it.
For js,css links you can put them in a view like 'includefiles.php' and load it in all pages as we load views.
for easy retrieval of your data, you can use helper functions.
<?php
//paymentdetail_helper
function getpaymentdetailhelper(someid or gateway name as arg eg.$id){
$ins=& get_instance();
$ins->load->database();
//your queries $ins->db->query();
return $data;
}
?>
Save this in application/helpers as paymentdetail_helper.php and load it as usual. more info about helpers in questionInfo about helper
Its my idea. :) You're welcome with suggestions
While using Google Cloud Compute's API in PHP, I am able to start, stop, delete instances as well as create and delete disks.
However, when trying to create an Instance, I keep getting this error
Invalid value for field 'resource.disks'
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Google_Service_Exception' with message 'Error calling POST https://www.googleapis.com/compute/v1/projects/project/zones/zone/instances: (400) Invalid value for field 'resource.disks': ''. Boot disk must be specified.' in /var/www/html/google/google-api-php-client/src/Google/Http/REST
Here is the request I am making
self::connectClient();
$computeService = new Google_Service_Compute($this->client);
if ($this->client->getAccessToken())
{
$googleNetworkInterfaceObj = new Google_Service_Compute_NetworkInterface();
$network = self::DEFAULT_NETWORK;
$googleNetworkInterfaceObj->setNetwork($network);
$diskObj = self::getDisk($instance_name);
$new_instance = new Google_Service_Compute_Instance();
$new_instance->setName($instance_name);
$new_instance->setMachineType(self::DEFAULT_MACHINE_TYPE);
$new_instance->setNetworkInterfaces(array($googleNetworkInterfaceObj));
$new_instance->setDisks(array(
"source"=>$diskObj->selfLink,
"boot"=>true,
"type"=>"PERSISTENT",
"deviceName"=>$diskObj->name,
));
$insertInstance = $computeService->instances->insert(self::DEFAULT_PROJECT,self::DEFAULT_ZONE_NAME, $new_instance);
Any help will be highly appreciated, thank you.
Ok the solution was really simple (and silly)
Instead of
$new_instance->setDisks(array(
"source"=>$diskObj->selfLink,
"boot"=>true,
"type"=>"PERSISTENT",
"deviceName"=>$diskObj->name,
));
It's supposed to be
$new_instance->setDisks(array(
array(
'source'=>self::getDisk($instance_name)->selfLink,
'boot'=>true,
'type' => "PERSISTENT",
'deviceName'=>self::getDisk($instance_name)->name,
)
));
Is it possible to get the asset details using asset name with Azure PHP sdk. I can get all the asset list, but it's loading first 1000 assets only.
getAssetList();
I can get single asset details using asset id.
getAsset($asset);
But in my case, I don't have asset id with me. I just have asset name alone. Now how do I get the asset details using this?
EDIT:
I got some help from Azure support saying that, we can use $skip parameter for pagination. I got code snippet in c#
for (int i = 0; i < _context.Assets.Count(); i += 1000 )
{
var assets = _context.Assets.Skip(i);
foreach (IAsset objIAsset in assets)
{
Console.WriteLine(objIAsset.Name.ToString());
}
}
How can I use this param in PHP SDK.
It seem that Azure SDK for PHP don't support skip method. However, I used the fiddler to monitor C# skip method and got the URL like this:
https://***-hs.cloudapp.net/api/Assets()?$skip=1000
So I think we can bulid up the request path like above in our PHP project and we can modify the getAssetList method in "MediaServicesRestProxy" file.
I add a function named "getAssetListBySkip($number)" into "MediaServicesRestProxy" class, the code like this:
/**
* Get asset list using skip number
*
* */
public function getAssetListBySkip($number)
{
$propertyList = $this->_getEntityList("Assets()?".'$skip='.$number);
$result = array();
foreach ($propertyList as $properties) {
$result[] = Asset::createFromOptions($properties);
}
return $result;
}
We can call this method like this:
$mediaServiceProxy = ServicesBuilder::getInstance()->createMediaServicesService(
new MediaServicesSettings("**","**/**="));
$result=$mediaServiceProxy->getAssetListBySkip(1000);
Azure Media services supports filtering by name. You can construct web request to be like
/api/assets()?$filter=Name%20eq%20'Your Name'&$top=1
You can also filter by other properties
Have you tried REST API that are used when creating, processing, managing, and delivering Assets. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/hh974277.aspx#list_an_asset but I do think we can list asset via a name directly since id is an unique indentifier of asset entity. PHP Azure SDK leverages assetId to get an Asset as well:
public function getAsset($asset)
{
$assetId = Utilities::getEntityId(
$asset,
'WindowsAzure\MediaServices\Models\Asset'
);
return Asset::createFromOptions($this->_getEntity("Assets('{$assetId}')"));
}
But in my case, I don't have asset id with me. I just have asset name
alone. Now how do I get the asset details using this?
Here are some test function code snippets for your reference:
public function testListAllAssets(){
// Setup
$asset1 = new Asset(Asset::OPTIONS_NONE);
$asset1->setName(TestResources::MEDIA_SERVICES_ASSET_NAME . $this->createSuffix());
$asset2 = new Asset(Asset::OPTIONS_NONE);
$asset2->setName(TestResources::MEDIA_SERVICES_ASSET_NAME . $this->createSuffix());
// Test
$asset1 = $this->createAsset($asset1);
$asset2 = $this->createAsset($asset2);
$result = $this->restProxy->getAssetList();
// Assert
$this->assertCount(2, $result);
$names = array(
$result[0]->getName(),
$result[1]->getName()
);
$id = array(
$result[0]->getId(),
$result[1]->getId()
);
$this->assertContains($asset1->getName(), $names);
$this->assertContains($asset2->getName(), $names);
$this->assertContains($asset1->getId(), $id);
$this->assertContains($asset2->getId(), $id);
}
public function testGetAnAssetReference(){
// Setup
$assetName = TestResources::MEDIA_SERVICES_ASSET_NAME . $this->createSuffix();
$asset = new Asset(Asset::OPTIONS_NONE);
$asset->setName($assetName);
$asset = $this->createAsset($asset);
// Test
$result = $this->restProxy->getAsset($asset);
// Assert
$this->assertEquals($asset->getId(), $result->getId());
$this->assertEquals($asset->getName(), $result->getName());
}
From: https://github.com/Azure/azure-sdk-for-php/blob/master/tests/functional/WindowsAzure/MediaServices/MediaServicesFunctionalTest.php
According to my testing, it seems that we can’t use Asset’s name to get the information of asset in Media Service.
$mediaServiceProxy = ServicesBuilder::getInstance()->createMediaServicesService(
new MediaServicesSettings("**","******"));
$asset = new Asset(Asset::OPTIONS_NONE);
$asset->setName('For-Test-wmv-Source');
//$asset don't have the value of id,
// unless execute ‘createAsset($asset)’, "$asset1" will be set the ID
$asset1 =$mediaServiceProxy->createAsset($asset);
$result2=$mediaServiceProxy->getAsset($asset1);
PHP SDK support the method named “getAsset($asset)”. Actually, the method get the Asset information by Asset id, just like the Aka's reference code.And Azure REST API don’t support the method queried by Asset’s name.
Please refer to the official document.
Alternative approach is that you can store your assets information (such as Id,URl,name and ect.) into Azure table storage when you upload them into media service. If you want to use it, you can fetch and filter the data of Asset’s name you wants from table storage.
I am having a tough time and have spent like 4 hrs trying to debug this. I am new to PHP, but did not expect this to be so hard.
This is the code, i am trying to update a contact table. i tried upsert and update nothign seems to work
this is the update" version of the code.
$id = '003A000000XRVFxIAP';
$updateFields = array (
'Id' => $id,
'MailingCity' => 'New York',
'MailingState' => 'NY'
);
$sObject1 = new SObject();
//$sObject1->fields = $updateFields;
//$sObject1->MailingCity= 'New York';
$sObject1->type = 'Contact';
try{
$updateResponse = $client->update(array($sObject1),'Contact');
$myID = $updateResponse->id;
}

#3 C:\xampp\htdocs\Proj1\createAccount.php(95): SforceEnterpriseClient->update(Array, 'Contact') #4 {main}
Looking at your trace you appear to be using the enterprise client and I can assume enterprise WSDL. This is strongly typed and you should be using the WSDL specific to your Salesforce org. If you are not using the WSDL downloaded from your org it will not have the correct objects and fields defined within it.
I would recommend using the partner client and partner WSDL. This is loosely typed and far more flexible. It would be easier to work with particularly if you aren't familiar with the PHP or the webservices.
The following should do your update...
$sObject1 = new stdClass();
$sObject1->type = 'Contact';
$sObject1->Id = $id;
$sObject1->fields['MailingCity'] = 'New York';
$sObject1->fields['MailingState'] = 'NY';
try
{
$updateResponse = $client->update( array( $sObject1 ) );
}
catch( Exception $exception )
{
// Do something
}
Note that the Id is a property of $sObject and not a value in the fields array. Also there is no need to specify the 'Contact' in your update call as you have it set in the type property of $sObject.
When using the Enterprise WSDL, don't create a new SObject, just create a new stdClass. See the examples in the PHP Getting Started Guide; SObjects are only for use with the partner WSDL.
I have encountered the same issue updating while using the Enterprise client. I experienced the same issue while updating a custom field on an Account object.
The issue that I had with the SObject was that it tried to update a parameter called 'fields' during the update. With the Enterprise WSDL not including that field, I used unset() to remove the 'fields' attribute from the SObject.
I appreciate this is a bit of a hacky solution, but it could come in useful for others that encounter this issue.
$sUpdateObject = new SObject();
$sUpdateObject->id = $record->Id;
$sUpdateObject->MyCustomField__c = 0;
unset($sUpdateObject->fields);
$updateResponse = $mySforceConnection->update(array($sUpdateObject), 'Account');
print_r($upsertResponse);
