Let's say I have an array that looks like this:
$args = array(
'format' => 'file',
'type' => 'page',
'name' => 'Projects',
'template' => 'default'
);
To get the values from the array keys I need to do this:
echo $args['format'];
echo $args['type'];
echo $args['name'];
echo $args['template'];
While it works, it feels more messy than needed. Is there a proper way to somehow convert it to this?
echo $format;
echo $type;
echo $name;
echo $template;
I'm aware of list but that only uses values and not keys.
Are you looking for http://php.net/manual/en/function.extract.php ?
$args = array(
'format' => 'file',
'type' => 'page',
'name' => 'Projects',
'template' => 'default'
);
extract($args);
echo "$format, $type, $name, $template";
Output:
file, page, Projects, default
We can easily print the array value using foreach() loop if we don't use to list() as you mention then use extract() method like below:
$args = array(
'format' => 'file',
'type' => 'page',
'name' => 'Projects',
'template' => 'default'
);
extract($args);
echo $format."<br/>".$type."<br/>".$name."<br/>".$template;

Consider the following array:
$serviceNames = array(
0 => array(
'language' => 'en',
'value' => 'something',
'type' => 'name',
),
1 => array(
'language' => 'fi',
'value' => 'jotain',
'type' => 'name',
),
2 => array(
'language' => 'sv',
'value' => 'någonting',
'type' => 'name',
),
);
I need to get the 'value' definitions based on language. The problematic part is that the array $serviceNames does not have a predefined length (comes originally as a JSON file from an API), and the items can come in any order (in my example it goes like en, fi, sv, but it could be de, en, sv, fr... you get it).
If I wanted to get 'value' within the array where 'language' equals to 'en', how could I do that?
My advice is that you make the array associative.
Once that is done you access the value by ["language"]["value"].
$serviceNames = array_column($serviceNames, Null, "language");
echo $serviceNames["fi"]["value"]; //jotain
echo $serviceNames["en"]["value"]; //something
echo $serviceNames["sv"]["value"]; //någonting
https://3v4l.org/ssGQa
You can array_search() and array_column() function. first find the key where "en" is in the array then get the value.
$key = array_search('en', array_column($serviceNames, 'language'));
echo $serviceNames[$key]['value'];
Demo
simple:
$serviceNames = array(
0 => array(
'language' => 'en',
'value' => 'something',
'type' => 'name',
),
1 => array(
'language' => 'fi',
'value' => 'jotain',
'type' => 'name',
),
2 => array(
'language' => 'sv',
'value' => 'någonting',
'type' => 'name',
),
);
function myfunction(array $serviceNames, $field)
{
foreach($serviceNames as $service)
{
if ( $service['language'] === $field )
return $service['value'];
}
return false;
}
echo myfunction($serviceNames, 'en');
Output will : something
you would have to go through each elements of the array, using the foreach statement.
something like:
function getValueForLang($lang, array $arr)
{
foreach ($arr as $desc) {
if ($desc['language'] == $lang) {
return $arr['value'];
}
}
return null;
}
getValueForLang('en', $serviceNames); // gets your value, null if not found

i'm using cakeDC's search plugin in my app. can;t seem to figure out why the results are empty if i pass no value in the username field i'm searching but have the account type filter set to either admin or user For the record, having the filter set to all with the username field empty will output all the users in the system trying to replicate the behavior of searches having the account type filter set to all with an empty username search field for having the account type filter set to either 2 user types
here's the relevant code if needed:
controller
public $components = array('Paginator', 'Session','Search.Prg');
public $presetVars = array(
array('field' => 'username', 'type' => 'value'),
array('field' => 'account_type', 'type' => 'value'));
public function admin_index() {
$this->Prg->commonProcess();
$this->paginate = array(
'conditions' => $this->User->parseCriteria($this->passedArgs));
$this->set('users', $this->Paginator->paginate(),'session',$this->Session);
model
public $actsAs = array('Search.Searchable');
public $filterArgs = array( array('name' => 'username', 'type' => 'query', 'method' => 'filterName'),
array('name' => 'account_type', 'type' => 'value'),
);
public function filterName($data, $field = null) {
$nameField = '%' . $data['username'] . '%';
return array(
'OR' => array(
$this->alias . '.username LIKE' => $nameField,
));
}
view search form
<div><?php echo $this->Form->create('User', array(
'novalidate' =>true,'url' => array_merge(array('action' => 'index','admin'=> true), $this->params['pass'])
)); ?>
<?php
$account_types = array(
'' => __('All', true),
0 => __('admin', true),
1 => __('user', true),);
echo $this->Form->input('username', array('div' => false, 'empty' => true)); // empty creates blank option.
echo $this->Form->input('account_type', array('label' => 'account_type', 'options' => $account_types));
echo $this->Form->submit(__('Search', true), array('div' => false));
echo $this->Form->end();
?></div>
Try to put 'empty' and allowEmpty in username and account_type like this:
public $filterArgs = array( array('name' => 'username', 'type' => 'query', 'method' => 'filterName', 'empty'=>true, 'allowEmpty'=>true),
array('name' => 'account_type', 'type' => 'value','empty'=>true, 'allowEmpty'=>true),
);
I had this kind of behavior as well from CakeDC/search and this two configs saved me, hope it will do for you as well.
It's a good idea to check the queries being executed as well using DebugKit.Toolbar.
I added in my project sorting data by select->order by $GET-variables. But when I navigate through the pages by paginator, of course this variables are not passing on the next page. What is the best way to pass this variables and use it with paginator?
Controller:
public function indexAction()
{
$sortForm = new \Records\Form\SortingForm();
$field = 'date';
$order = 'desc';
$request = $this->getRequest();
if ($request->isGet()){
$sortForm->setValidationGroup(array('field', 'order'));
$sortData = $request->getQuery()->toArray();
$sortForm->setData($sortData);
if($sortForm->isValid()) {
$sortForm->getData($sortData);
$field = (string) $this->params()->fromQuery('field', 'date');
$order = (string) $this->params()->fromQuery('order', 'desc');
}
}
$query = $this->getRecordsTable()->fetchAll($field, $order);
$paginator = new Paginator\Paginator(new Paginator\Adapter\Iterator($query));
$paginator->setCurrentPageNumber($this->params()->fromRoute('page', 1));
$paginator->setItemCountPerPage(25);
$vm = new ViewModel(array('records' => $paginator));
Model:
public function fetchAll($field, $order)
{
$this->field = $field;
$this->order = $order;
$resultSet = $this->tableGateway->select(function (Select $select) {
$select->columns(array('date', 'name', 'email', 'homepage', 'text', 'image', 'file'));
$select->order($this->field.' '.$this->order);
});
$resultSet->buffer();
$resultSet->next();
return $resultSet;
}
Form:
public function __construct($name = null)
{
parent::__construct('records');
$this->setAttribute('method', 'get');
$this->add(array(
'name' => 'field',
'required' => false,
'type' => 'Zend\Form\Element\Select',
'options' => array(
'label' => 'Sort by: ',
'value_options' => array(
'date' => 'Date',
'email' => 'E-mail',
'name' => 'Username',
),
)));
$this->add(array(
'name' => 'order',
'required' => false,
'type' => 'Zend\Form\Element\Select',
'options' => array(
'value_options' => array(
'asc' => 'ascending',
'desc' => 'descending',
),
)));
$this->add(array(
'name' => 'submit',
'attributes' => array(
'type' => 'submit',
'value' => 'Go',
'id' => 'submitbutton',
),
));
}
Paginator view:
<!-- Numbered page links -->
<?php foreach ($this->pagesInRange as $page): ?>
<?php if ($page != $this->current): ?>
<a href="<?php echo $this->url($this->route, array('page' => $page)); ?>">
<?php echo $page; ?>
</a> |
<?php else: ?>
<?php echo $page; ?> |
<?php endif; ?>
<?php endforeach; ?>
And another one: when I passing get-variables, the query string looks like http://guest-book.me/page/7?field=date&order=asc&submit=Go How I can do not send pair submit=>value?
Thank you for help! :)
Firstly, you need to make sure the route you're using for the Paginator has a Query String child route, I would recommend having a route specifically for use with listings with pagination, an example:
'router' => array(
'routes' => array(
'paginator_route' => array(
'type' => 'segment',
'options' => array(
'route' => '/list/:controller/:action[/page/:page][/]',
'constraints' => array(
//'__NAMESPACE__' => 'Application\Controller',
'controller' => '[a-zA-Z][a-zA-Z0-9_-]*',
'page' => '[0-9]+',
),
'defaults' => array(
'controller' => 'index',
'action' => 'list',
'page' => 1,
),
),
'may_terminate' => true, // with or without Query string
'child_routes' => array(
'query' => array( // allows us to match query string
'type' => 'Query',
'options' => array(
'defaults' => array(
// Query string defaults here..
)
)
),
),
),
You now need to modify your pagination view to allow us to use current parameters as a base when generating the new links:
<!-- Numbered page links -->
<?php foreach ($this->pagesInRange as $page): ?>
<?php if ($page != $this->current): ?>
<?php // the last param allows us to reuse the matched params ?>
<a href="<?php echo $this->url($this->route, array('page' => $page), TRUE); ?>">
<?php echo $page; ?>
</a> |
<?php else: ?>
<?php echo $page; ?> |
<?php endif; ?>
<?php endforeach; ?>
Your pagination links should now retain the Query string values :-)
you can create a helper that pass a GET parameter to url too. i've created a sample module for this : https://github.com/samsonasik/SanSamplePagination
I have the following two things:
$_POST array with posted data
$params array with a path for each param in the desired data array.
$_POST = array(
'name' => 'Marcus',
'published' => 'Today',
'url' => 'http:://example.com',
'layout' => 'Some info...',
);
$params = array(
'name' => 'Invoice.name',
'published' => 'Page.published',
'url' => 'Page.Data.url',
'layout' => 'Page.Data.layout',
);
I would like to generate the $data array like the example below.
How can I do that?
Notice how the "paths" from the $params array are used to build the keys for the data array, filling it with the data from the $_POST array.
$data = array(
'User' => array(
'name' => 'Marcus',
),
'Page' => array(
'published' => 'Today',
'Data' => array(
'url' => 'http:://example.com',
'layout' => 'Some info...',
),
),
);
I would use referenced variables:
$post = array( // I renamed it
'name' => 'Marcus',
'published' => 'Today',
'url' => 'http:://example.com',
'layout' => 'Some info...',
);
$params = array(
'name' => 'Invoice.name',
'published' => 'Page.published',
'url' => 'Page.Data.url',
'layout' => 'Page.Data.layout',
);
echo '<pre>'; // just for var_dump()
foreach($post as $key=>$var){ // take each $_POST variable
$param=$params[$key]; // take the scheme fields
$path=explode('.',$param); // take scheme fields as an array
$temp=array(); // temporary array to manipulate
$temp_original=&$temp; // we need this the same as we're going to "forget" temp
foreach($path as $pathvar){ // take each scheme fields
$temp=&$temp[$pathvar]; // go deeper
}
$temp=$var; // that was the last one, insert it
var_dump($temp_original); // analize carefully the output
}
All you have to do now is to combine them all, they are not exactly what you want, but this will be easy.
And please note, that each $temp_original fields are pointing at $post variable data! (&string instead of string). You may want to clone it somehow.
I need to build a Typoscript file in PHP and then pretty much execute the script to get the content of a given page.
This is my Code:
if (!defined('PATH_typo3conf')) die ('Could not access this script directly!');
class ContentHandler extends tslib_cObj
{
var $conf;
public function __construct()
{
tslib_eidtools::connectDB();
}
public function main()
{
$this->createConf(16);
$code = $this->cObjGet($this->conf);
echo "<pre>";
print_r($this->conf);
echo "</pre>";
echo "<pre>";
echo "code: " . $code;
echo "</pre>";
}
protected function createConf($pid)
{
$this->conf = array(
'foo' => 'CONTENT',
'foo.' => array(
'table' => 'tt_content',
'select.' => array(
'pidInList' => $pid,
'languageField' => 0,
),
'renderObj' => 'COA',
'renderObj.' => array(
'stdWrap.' => array(
'wrap' => '<b>|</b>',
),
'10' => 'TEXT',
'10.' => array(
'field' => 'header',
'wrap' => '<h3>|</h3>',
),
'20' => 'TEXT',
'20.' => array(
'field' => 'bodytext',
'wrap' => '<b>|</b>',
),
),
)
);
}
}
I believe the typosript is built well, but I don't get anything back. I check with a simple mysql_query() and it returns content. But I need to do this with typoscript.
Any help appreciated!
Edit: This not an actual extension script, but it's inside the EXT/ folder.
Your TypoScript is not correct. Have a look at the API (http://api.typo3.org/typo3v4/current/html/classtslib__c_obj.html#ab70d69a447f24f7416a85e7de1cb4ffb). Instead of "foo" you have to define an numerical key "10".
$this->conf = array(
'foo' => 'CONTENT',
'foo.' => array(
should do the job.
Btw.:
You need tslib_eidtools::connectDB(); only, if you are using an eID Script.
