Silverstripe CMS multiple "success" messages - php

I'm having this issue on my production server but not in local development:
Loading any page of the CMS (excluding secondary tabs) fires off a "success" notification, sometimes 5-6+ of them at the same time. I can not seem to track down where they're even coming from let alone what's causing them. I'm at such a loss I feel like I'm even having a tough time explaining it so I'll attach a screenshot.
Server is Cloudways PHP stack: 1GB RAM, Apache/Nginx

That's an issue that was already fixed. See this issue on github.
It only happens on SSL/HTTP2 servers, so that explains why you don't get this issue on your local dev environment.
You should be able to solve your problem by updating the CMS.

Wordpress Divi updates don't save

I'm a bit of an amateur so I'm sure I've missed something.
I'm running Divi on Wordpress. When i go to update a page, I get the "Your updates couldn't be saved" error. My Wordpress site, as well as it's CPanel, also are loading unusually slowly, which I think is related to the issue. After working on this for a bit, both my site and it's CPanel will fail to load, giving me a "can't establish a secure connection to the server" error. The third symptom, which I can't make heads nor tails of, when I click "update" in the page editor, my browser will often (but not always) launch another tab/pop-up either displaying a preview of the edits or the "pages" page on the WP admin side. All of these issues are new (although I've had similar loading speed issues in the past with this site).
Thinking it may be an overload on my server (which happened due to an attack a few months ago), I let it sit for a few days with no luck. Then, thinking it may be a caching issue on my end, I changed my DNS servers, cleared my browser cache, tried private browsing, used my phone, used different wifi and cellular networks. All to no avail. I briefly had slight luck using my phone as a hotspot, but it only temporarily improved the loading speeds.
I also tried disabling plugins. I made sure everything was up to date. No help.
I went into my wp-config.php file and increased the memory limit to 128M and the WP-max memory limit to 256M. This helped briefly–I could update and save one page but when I tried to change the next, I was back to base 1. I've also increased the memory limits in my .htaccess file. I don't have access to my PHP.init file (there are often delays reaching my host so I'm trying to avoid relying on them when possible).
My last guess (which I have yet to implement) is to update my PHP. That said, I'm running 7.3.6 and had no issue updating the site a few days ago so I'm not sure that's the problem, unless divi's newest update has compatibility issues with 7.3 versions of PHP...
Any further ideas would be greatly appreciated! I'm partway through a cosmetic update (which, I know should be done on a staging site but sometimes best practices are best learnt through mistakes like this) so my site looks somewhat half-finished. That is, I'm anxious to be able to edit it again.
Many thanks in advance
Whenever you try to save something, Divi will make a request through admin-ajax.php, it often happens that a security firewall detects that as a threat (which is obviously not), thus giving you the failed save message. Can you ask you host to check the rules that are triggered and whitelist that action? It can also come from plugins like Wordfence, make sure to whitelist it there too.
You can also attach that layout as JSON here, I can test it on my own server and if I can save changes, we should be on the right path.

PHP Scripting with Wordpress and Error Logs

Cry for help here.
I have a fairly simple small wordpress site, but it takes forever to load. My hosting provider said, "The server itself isn't having an issue with any other users on it and seems to be operating fine and serving other sites without issue. Almost every time an issue like this exists, where the load average is going over 500, it is usually an issue within WordPress that is causing the server to have unnecessary strain, which brings sites down.".
My developers can not find any issues with their code, and suggest that it is an issue with the root level hosting or WP install, not the sub-domain (where we did the coding). So, I'm trying to find the issue and need someone's help...
this is my first post, so I apologize if it isn't in the right format. - Adam

SilverStripe save and publish is taking over 60 seconds on Plesk

I have a Plesk reseller VPS and have set it up for running SilverStripe sites. For the most part the sites load well (under a second on average) and works as expected.
The admin also performs as expected, with the exception of Save and Publish. Doing a save and publish (even with one small change) takes over 60 seconds (where as a standard write action takes maybe a few seconds). This is happening for all page types. We are not using any custom onBeforeWrite or onAfterWrite calls and are not using static publisher.
On our development server (also Apache based), save and publish time is less than 10 seconds. Switching to Dev mode on live seems to make no difference.
I am kind of at a loss as to why this is happening or how to diagnose the issue. Has anyone else had this issue?
I am running SilverStripe 3.5, PHP 5.6.3 and Mysql 5.5.
EDIT: I have checked all the logs, the only thing being logged that I can see was the timeout error (which goes away when I increase script execution time).
UPDATE - 13/06/17: I have now installed a smaller (largely vanilla) SilverStripe site on the same server, Save and Publish for this site works as expected (and is very snappy).
I am assuming that this is a module causing the error. I have also contacted support, the on only thing they can think could cause this would be a script is accessing a third party server (which is being stopped by a network firewall). The only module that springs to mind would be the Live SEO module (as this talks to google for it's scoring system).
OK, finally managed to get this sorted. The hosting provider were quite helpful (they usually are), it turned out to be an routing issue in their data centre.
The hosting provider told me that they had identified an issue with IP6 routing that was causing a timeout in some instances. They have resolved this and "Save and Publish" is now working as expected.
If anyone else gets this issue and has ruled out the items mentioned above, I would advise contacting their hosting provider, it may be an external issue.

CakePHP 2 Internal Server Error

Before moving on I want to mention that I have tried to look for answers in the web but in vain.
I am tasked with investigating why our CakePHP-based website is no longer working on our staging server. When loading the site at times it loads completely, but when logging a user in it takes forever to authenticate such that it produces an Internal Server Error.
Step 1: I have checked the cache directory for both persistent and models and they are clean.
Step 2: The Configure::write value for debug is already set to 2. Nothing gets written on the error.log file.
Could this have anything to do with Session data? I am trying to figure out what's going on and I have tried looking into the lib folder for Cake to see if I can edit the files in there to actually see what the website actually outputs instead of the Internal Server Error message. Which file should I edit in there? I followed this link but it seems like the core is a different version.
It turned out that there was an issue with a SAP Server connection which kept the pages on the loop until they timeout resulting into an internal server error. This is evident of the fact that the live website was working fine.
I think the best solution would be to tweak the SAP Server connection component such that it doesn't timeout requests. As much as I lack knowledge of the technology. I have disabled the call and everything worked fine at a speed of light.

Magento 500 Errors, Slowness

We're running a magento web store on Knownhost (VPS).
Most of the time the site works fine. Occasionally (every few hours?) the site will get very slow and unresponsive, and will throw '500 Internal Server Errors'. There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in the webserver or Magento system/exception logs.
Also, it seems that we're seeing high CPU usage on this account.
I have increased the memory limit to 512MB, and tried everything else I could find. No dice.
We have a managed VPS, so we can change pretty much everything. We had our hosted provider install ImageMagick after reading a suggestion online - didn't help.
Any ideas?

TL;DR; You have an under resourced server. Any code or configuration steps you take to reduce load are only going to postpone the inevitable.
It's impossible to provide a concrete answer to your question with the information given. If you could look at your server logs and see the full error message being generated it would be a big help. "Server logs" probably mean "Apache Logs" in this situation, since the error text you provided is a standard Apache/PHP error, and not a Magento error.
All that said, the most likely culprit is a PHP out of memory error. Magento's performance profile is different than most LAMP stack applications, and most generic VPS hosts are unable/unwilling to make the tweaks needed to run it. If you want to solve this problem long term you need a web host that specializes in Magento. I recommend Nexcess (affiliate link) these days, but Magento has a list of recommended hosting partners, and the Magento Speed Test site offers a nice breakdown of the top Magento hosts.
Take a look at your host's plans
The highest level plan tops out at 4GB of RAM (4096 MB).
Take a look at the starting Nexcess plans
The entry level plan provides 16GB. Four times as much RAM as your current host. Magento is a RAM hungry application. Your current host isn't equipped to handle Magento. Any code or configuration steps you take to reduce load are only going to postpone the inevitable.
I followed the instructions posted by allendar:
Backup and delete app/etc/local/local.xml
Go to site in browser, and follow the configuration process
So far, everything seems to be working fine! It's a little hard to say this soon since the issue was so intermittent, but our site has remained responsive for nearly two hours.
I'm going to mark this as Answered in a couple days. I'll look into getting a better hosting plan.
Thanks everyone!
