Calling elasticsearch via curl in php - php

I have some problems getting data from elasticsearch. I have tested the following simple php script (no framework necessary):

The only response I get is: "bool(false)"

authenticate through curl and get resource [duplicate]

I am having problem with PHP curl request with basic authorization.
Here is the command line curl:
curl -H "Accept: application/product+xml" "https://{id}:{api_key}#api.domain.com/products?limit=1&offset=0"
I have tried by setting curl header in following ways but it's not working
Authorization: Basic id:api_key
or
Authorization: Basic {id}:{api_key}
I get the response "authentication parameter in the request are missing or invalid" but I have used proper id and api_key which is working in command line curl (I tested)
Please help me.

REST service basic authentication with php

I am trying to use data in json format from REST service.
REST service requires Basic Authentication.
Here is the code in php:

$password = 'password!';
$url = 'https://host/rest/serviceLink';

curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL,$url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER,1);

However, i cant get anything else from the service.

I have a command i've been having a problem converting to php.

I think it equates to the following:

Fetching json data from password protected url using php and curl

I am trying to fetch a json string from a password protected url.
I think my code should work but when I open my script in the browser I just have a blank page.
Here's my code:
