json calling other json using php - php

I need your help..I would like to call a json value using a json value...
here's my sample json...
first json:
{
"first_name": "Richard Catibog",
"last_name": "",
"display_name": "Richard Catibog ",
"roles": {
"owner": false,
"administrator": true
},
"login_count": 108,
"enabled": true,
"departments": [
1817719575,
1817719887,
1817722991
],
"id": 4142095,
"last_login": "2017-07-12T10:03:57Z",
"create_date": "2017-04-28T12:09:57Z",
"email": "richard.catibog+21757948948#51talk.com"
},
{
"first_name": "Rovi Cruz",
"last_name": "",
"display_name": "Rovi Roy Cruz ",
"roles": {
"owner": false,
"administrator": true
},
"login_count": 98,
"enabled": true,
"departments": [
1817719575,
1817719887,
1817722991
],
"id": 4225009,
"last_login": "2017-07-13T00:37:27Z",
"create_date": "2017-06-05T06:15:49Z",
"email": "rovi.cruz+21821290968#51talk.com"
}
Second json:
[
{
"description": "Fees Support for American Academy",
"settings": {
},
"enabled": false,
"id": 1817719575,
"name": "AA Fees Support [L2]"
},
{
"description": "American Academy",
"settings": {
},
"enabled": true,
"id": 1817722991,
"name": "Lesson and Fee Support"
},
{
"description": "Technical Support",
"settings": {
},
"enabled": true,
"id": 1817719887,
"name": "Technical Support"
}
]
I would like to call the id on the second and echo the names using the departments id list on first json...
here's what i get...
but the result that i want to see is AA Fees Support [L2], Lesson and Fee Support and Technical Support...
thank you, hope you can help me...

In this I made an array $desc that is keyed on the departments id numbers so you can easily convert the id to a Descrition
$js1 = '{
"first_name": "Richard Catibog", "last_name": "",
"display_name": "Richard Catibog ",
"roles": { "owner": false,"administrator": true},
"login_count": 108,"enabled": true,
"departments": [1817719575,1817719887,1817722991],
"id": 4142095,"last_login": "2017-07-12T10:03:57Z",
"create_date": "2017-04-28T12:09:57Z",
"email": "richard.catibog+21757948948#51talk.com"
}';
$js2 = '[
{
"description": "Fees Support for American Academy",
"settings": {},"enabled": false,"id": 1817719575,
"name": "AA Fees Support [L2]"
},
{
"description": "American Academy",
"settings": {},"enabled": true,"id": 1817722991,
"name": "Lesson and Fee Support"
},
{
"description": "Technical Support",
"settings": {},"enabled": true,"id": 1817719887,
"name": "Technical Support"
}
]';
$first = json_decode($js1);
//print_r($first);
$second = json_decode($js2);
//print_r($second);
// make array key'd on the id
$desc = [];
foreach ($second as $s) {
$desc[$s->id] = $s;
}
print_r($desc);
// go through all the dept id's in the first array
// getting a matching desctipyion from array 2
foreach ( $first->departments as $dept) {
echo $desc[$dept]->description . PHP_EOL;
}
UPDATE: After the first json data structure got changed to an array of objects
NOTE I changed your first json data structure to make it valid JSON by adding [] around the 2 objects to make a valid JSON data structure i.e. an array of objects.
All you need to do in this case is add a loop to lop over the now array of objects.
$js1 = '[{
"first_name": "Richard Catibog",
"last_name": "",
"display_name": "Richard Catibog ",
"roles": { "owner": false, "administrator": true },

"id": 4142095,
"last_login": "2017-07-12T10:03:57Z",
"create_date": "2017-04-28T12:09:57Z",
"email": "richard.catibog+21757948948#51talk.com"
},
{

RESULT

Compare 2 Multidimensional Arrays in PHP and show all the difference in an array

I have 2 Multiple-Arrays and I want to compare them. In the second Array I want then show with colors which value has changed, which key is new and which key is removed.
I have found a lot of different solutions, but no one function for me.
Here are my arrays:

My fonction to compare:
function array_diff_assoc_recursive($array1, $array2)
{
foreach($array1 as $key => $value)
{
if(is_array($value))
{
if(!isset($array2[$key]))
{
$difference[$key] = $value;
}
elseif(!is_array($array2[$key]))
{
$difference[$key] = "<b>".$value."</b>";
}
else
{
$new_diff = array_diff_assoc_recursive($value, $array2[$key]);
if($new_diff != FALSE)
{
$difference[$key] = $new_diff;
}
}
}
elseif(!isset($array2[$key]) || $array2[$key] != $value)
{
$difference[$key] = "<b>".$value."</b>";
}
}
return !isset($difference) ? 0 : $difference;
}
var_dump(array_diff_assoc_recursive($array2, $array1));
This difference i get:
[originformation][sections][1][cars][0][number] -> newValue 12
[originformation][sections][1][cars][1][attributes] -> newValue AbteilStefan
[originformation][sections][1][cars][2] -> all Attributes are new
[originformation][legendItems][9][id] -> newValue AbteilStefan
[originformation][legendItems][9][text] -> newValue Ich bin ein neues Abteil
[originformation][legendItems][10] -> all Attributes are new
[originformation][legendItems][11] -> all Attributes are new
[originformation][info][formationChanges][0] => newValue All Changed
The difference i expected
[originformation][sections][1][cars][0][number] -> newValue 12
[originformation][sections][1][cars][1] -> all Attributes are new
[originformation][legendItems][9] -> all Attributes are new
[originformation][info][formationChanges][0] => newValue All Changed
Problem
My function doesn't see, that car in Array2 I put in a complete new car and also a complete new legendItem and the rest is still the same.
Does someone know how I can compare the arrays, that he doesn't check the order of the attributes on the same level?

Get the values in PHP of three objects in Tripadvisor JSON API file

Been struggling with this for too long now, so am kindly asking for your help.
How can I, using PHP, get the values of the text fields in the reviews of which there are three in this JSON file below.
Want to use a foreach loop for this, thanks for helping me out!

It doesn't seem like you need a foreach to fetch the reviews element. Not sure if I understood your question correct, but did you want something like this:
$assoc_json = json_decode($your_json, true);
var_dump($assoc_json['reviews']);
The above turns your json into an associative array, and just access the review element.
A simple, naive approach would be:
//Loads your json file 'tripadvisor' into jsonString
$jsonString = file_get_contents("/tripadvisor.json");
//Turns your string into an associative array
$tripJsonAssoc = json_decode($jsonString, true);
//Iterate through each review and store it in result
$result = array();
foreach($tripJsonAssoc['reviews'] as $review) {
$result[] = array('text' => $review['text'],
'rating' => $review['rating']);
}
//Do what you need to do with result
//...
Or you can just do your own stuff inside the foreach loop.
This answer gives you another way (more elegant) to create the 'result' array, but since you asked for a 'foreach', I thought I would add my 5 cents.

Parsing Rome2Rio json file with PHP

I am trying to extract a segment from the json file of Rome2Rio API with PHP but I cant get an output.
The json file from rome2rio:

{ "name": "Thessaloniki", "pos": "40.6545,22.90233", "kind": "station", "countryCode": "GR", "timeZone": "Europe/Athens" }
]
The PHP code I wrote is:
$json_rome2rio = file_get_contents("http://free.rome2rio.com/api/1.2/json/Search?key=&oName=kozani&dName=thessaloniki");
$parsed_json_r = json_decode($json_rome2rio);
echo $parsed_json_r->agencies->name;
The agencies property contains an array of agencies (note the square brackets). To access the name as you're after, you can do the following:
echo $parsed_json_r->agencies[0]->name;
This assumes that at least one agency is returned and that the agency you are after is the first one if more than one is returned.

i want extract flight number, depScheduled, arrScheduled and journey fare from the above json.
here are my code:
$json2 = json_decode($json,true);
$result= array();
foreach ($json2['outboundOptions']['flights']as $theentity) {
$result[] = $theentity['flightNumber'];
}
print_r($result);
The code above return me a error, "Invalid argument supplied for foreach()".I searched around, but still have not found the solution yet..
It is giving you that error because outboundOptions is an array of objects. What you want is to access the first object:
foreach ($json2['outboundOptions'][0]['flights']as $theentity) {
$result[] = $theentity['flightNumber'];
}
Also, remove the trailing comma (,) from your ] at the end as that causes invalid json.
You can check if your json is valid by going to jsonlint.com
Working Example
Update as per your comment
To get all the flights, change your foreach loop to this:
foreach ($json3['outboundOptions'] as $flight) {
foreach($flight['flights'] as $theentity) {
$result[] = $theentity['flightNumber'];
}
}
Example
remove the trailing ',' near the very end of your json.
change your code, add a [0] before ['flights']
$json2 = json_decode($json,TRUE);
$result= array();
foreach ($json2['outboundOptions'][0]['flights']as $theentity) {
$result[] = $theentity['flightNumber'];
}
print_r($result);

How to access the JSON's multi-level objects with jQuery [duplicate]

This question already has answers here:
How can I access and process nested objects, arrays, or JSON?
(31 answers)
Closed 9 years ago.
In CodeIgniter, in PHP to create a nested-like elements for dropdown <select> I'am using this function:
function list_categories(&$result, $cats, $sub = ''){ // <- THIS
foreach($cats as $cat){
//$cat['category']->id = $sub.$cat['category']->title;
$result[$cat['category']->id] = $sub.$cat['category']->title; // <- THIS
if( sizeof($cat['children']) > 0 ){
$sub2 = str_replace('—→ ', '–', $sub);
$sub2.= '–→ ';
list_categories($result, $cat['children'], $sub2); // <- THIS
}
}
}
// Make an array available outside the function
$categoryData = array(0 => '-- '.lang('FORM_SELECT_CATTOP').' --');
// Launch the function to fill out the array with nested sets
list_categories($categoryData, $categories);
Which generates the HTML <select> list:
I want to do the same from retrieved JSON in jQuery but can't find the answer to go deeper than first level of JSON objects with this jQuery function:
$.getJSON('../raw_get_categories/'+com_id_selected+'/0', function(data){
var items = [];
$.each(data, function(key, value, sub){
items.push('<option id="'+ key[0] + '">' + value[0] + '</option>');
});
console.log(items);
});
And this is the JSON I want to manage and retrieve the same values from it like in PHP code:
{

Could someone suggest me the appropriate way to achieve the same foreach statement in jQuery pls?
Juste use point to get more childs
$.getJSON('filename.php', function(data) {
$('#List li').remove();
$.each(data, function(index, item) {
$('#list').append('<li>'+item.category.id+'</li>');
});
});
You can do something like this:
$.each(data.actions, function(entryIndex, entry) {
var html = '<li class="top-level">' + this.action + '</li>';
});
