Laravel controllers not working in another computer - php

I just copied my laravel project from one pc into another. I changed the .env file accordingly for new domain url (it's in localhost bytheway).
However when I click the links, namely login, register, they say the requested URL not found on this server.
I tried to run php artisan serve command, but it says
[Error Exception] No such file for directory.
But the artisan file is there. I'm afraid the domain still pointing to previous one, hence the error.
Is there anywhere else I need to change the pointing url?

After copying the directory you should always run composer update secondly make sure you have.

i fixed it by enabling module rewrite option in apache extension in WAMP

Run laravel project in localhost

I have installed laravel by composer create-project laravel/laravel –-prefer-dist
after this run php artisan serve command to laravel project directory and get this result.
Laravel development server started: http://127.0.0.1:8000
But when i go to http://127.0.0.1:8000 in browser laravel project not running and give error
This site can’t be reached
127.0.0.1 refused to connect.
but http://localhost/laravel/public/ it is working. Can anyone tell me that what is proper way to run this laravel project.
Try to run in different port
php artisan serve --port=9000
and then try http://127.0.0.1:9000 will work.
As might be on port 8000 something already running on your system will not make it work.
And you can also run your laravel project without artisan serve command
If anyone wants to make the application public, the more easy and fastest way is:
Rename the "server.php" file in root directory, in "index.php"
Move your .htaccess from public folder to root directory
Make your directory accessible to Apache2 (set all file permissions
to 777).
At starting level, you can use url like this http://127.0.0.1:8000 with port-number. but in further level you must working with simple url like http://localhost/laravel/public/.
One more thing - you should remove "public" keyword from url, so you access direct your root-project. Review this link - Laravel 5 - Remove public from URL
I had that problem too! And couldn't solve it. So I installed openserver from https://ospanel.io/ and put my site on the folder domains (Windows 10), then I just start Open Server and click "My Sites" and choose my site - it opened in my browser which set by default on Open Server program and click the folder on my browser cooled "public" and there you go -> your site is working.
I now that isn't solve the problem with cmd and start thought cmd and server like http://127.0.0.1:8000, but you can take access to your local site through http://'your site'/public/'your pages'
Good luck!
Changing the port will help.
php artisan serve --port=9000
worked for me
Try this
php -S 127.0.0.2:8000 -t public/
It will start your local development to http://127.0.0.2:8000 which will work great.
OR
You can try instead
php -S 127.0.0.1:8000 -t public/ It will work in any browser as compare to command php artisan serve which open url http://127.0.0.1:8000.
Successfully landed to Laravel page by the following steps.
Note: This is after the successful installation and configuration.
Was in /var/www/html/
Created the project using the following command after Laravel installation successfully
$laravel new firstapp
here firstapp is my project
cd to firstapp (folder created with project creation with $laravel new firstapp)
serve using the following command
$ php artisan serve
The project ready to serve with the following statement as below
Laravel development server started: http://127.0.0.1:8000
You can access the laravel page using the following URL
http:///firstapp/public/
Sometimes this occur when you have installed an anti virus software. Anti-virus deleting your "server.php" file. For that you can create an exception in anti-virus for "server.php" file or creating a "server.php". You can find relevant code for the file searching. Basically server refuse to connect occurs when the "server.php" deleted or removed from the file path.

Creating a symlink in WAMP server on Windows

I am working on a downloaded version of an application and am getting multiple errors due to:
( ! ) Warning: include(/home/USERNAME/public_html/dir/includes/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wamp\www\dir\includes\db_connection.php on line 6
I understand what the error is but I don't want to have to manually change all these includes in the code mainly as doing so means when I update my ive site they will then be wrong.
Is there a way using either WAMP or Windows of creating something like a symlink to tell WAMP that anything in /home/USERNAME/public_html/dir should be served from C:\wamp\www\dir?
I found an option in WAMP for creating an alias but I am not sure if this is the right thing to use?
There is an answer on SO here.
This link https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/278262-mklink-create-use-links-windows.html would serve well too (from the answer above).
Basically you have to use mklink Windows command from command prompt (the latter must be run as administrator).
Now. Assume you have WAMP installed and virtual host named mysite.local is created and pointinig to the physical d:\mysite folder. You want now the files in the folder f:\otherfolder\realfolder to be accessible via mysite.local/otherfolder/somefile.ext kind of URL.
For this you have to create the symbolic link named otherfolder in d:\mysite that will point to f:\otherfolder\realfolder. You have to execute:
mklink /D d:\myfolder\otherfolder f:\otherfolder\realfolder
from Windows command prompt. The link otherfolder is created in d:\myfolder and you can access files via an URL as mentioned above.

Laravel 4 and Symlinks

So I'm new to Laravel 4, and I'm trying to figure out how to Symlink two parts of my site.
The first is apps/storage
The second is public/cache (this is where an image cache is stored)
I'd like to move both of these to a SSD on my server, however Laravel keeps throwing out an error whenever I try and setup these Symlinks.
That error is:
ErrorException
file_put_contents(/meta/services.json): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
Clearly it's unable to find the filesystem and the symlink isn't working with Laravel. But the symlink DOES work with individual files (such as a jpeg), so I'm positive there is no problem with the initial setup.
To clarify, the document root is set to httpdocs/public (via Plesk settings)
The apps (and framework) are located in the httpdocs folder which is no longer serving as the vhost root.
As I hinted at, it's a Plesk server. The owner belongs to the vhost, and the group belongs to psacln. But I don't think there are any permission/ownership problems, as I've verified the symlinks are working.
Looks like you have messed something else, because the path in the error message looks wrong to me:
file_put_contents(/meta/services.json)
IMO, it should be something like:
file_put_contents(/var/www/webapp/app/storage/meta/services.json)
Because, if you have done the symlink correctly you did something like
mv /var/www/webapp/app/storage /mnt/ssd/
ln -s /mnt/ssd/storage /var/www/webapp/app/storage
PHP is trying to write a file in the root /meta folder, where probably it doesn't have right.

composer installation for laravel laravel

I am installing composer for laravel installation.but when it want php.exe file i coudn't find it in c:/xampp/php folder.I set up my path variable c:/xampp/php but it is still not working.help me guys.
If xampp has correctly installed, but you are failing to run PHP it is more than possible that you don't have PHP set in your environment paths.
To set this go to;
Start > right click computer > properties > Advanced system settings > Environment Variables.
Under System variables find a variable named PATH, highlight then click Edit... Append the absolute path to your root PHP folder, this could either be xampps located in.
c:/xampp/php/
Press Ok, once you've finished; close down any command prompt windows you may have open. Re-open command prompt and run php -v. Hopefully at this point PHP has responded with it's version and license information.
Make sure you have xampp properly installed.
If you add c:/xampp/php to your PATH while you have a console open, you need to open another console, in order for the PATH to be updated.
i think I have that problem one day, i solved uninstalling xampp server and reinstalling it, but when xampp ask you wich folder to install you need to create a new folder:
C://new folder/xampp/.......
If you install/uninstall multiples xampp or wampp versions for some reasons create storage info in the xampp folder, so creating a new folder solve the problem.
You can use this path:
c:/xampp/php/php.exe
PATH should be a directory, not a file, so you should set it to "c:\xampp\php\", other than"c:\xampp\php\php.exe"

Symfony2 on FTP Webhoster

I wrote a little site with Symfony2 and I want to host it on my WebSpace. I only have FTP access, so I can not access any console/terminal!
Problem is: Symfony cannot create the cache directory properly! There might be a permission problem still?!
These are y steps so far:
Uploading my whole project with empty Cache directory (since I can't clean it due to no console)
Changing permissions of cache and logs directories using my ftp client
unmasking console, app.php and app_dev.php like explained here
Adding my IP to the whitelist in the files: config.php and app_dev.php
Checking the config.php to see if my configuration meets symfony's requirements (they do! no major problems!)
Checking PHP settings: PHP 5.3.3-7, SQLite3 and PDO-Driver there!
Opening app_dev.php/_configurator/step/0 concludes into a RuntimeException:
RuntimeException: Unable to create the cache directory (/var/www/userx/html/MySiteSymfony/app/cache/dev/twig/83/4c).
Opening app.php results in a 500 server error and no log file is being created
Someone an idea how to get symfony working?
Go into the app/ folder click "get info" on the cache folder and set the right permissions (make sure to click "Apply to enclosed folders/files").
Finally changed my provider. Seems like its OS was just deprecated.
