How to put php table into html sidebar? - php

Hi im a begginer in php and html i would like to ask how do i put this table into my html sidelist. when i put my table inside that space this always appear ( "; foreach($testaroni as $x=>$y) { echo ""; echo "" . $y . ""; } echo ""; echo ""; ?>)
This is my table. This is the problem (2)
<?php
session_start();
$testaroni = explode("', '" , $_SESSION["data"]);
?>
<?php
echo "<table border = '1'>";
foreach($testaroni as $x=>$y) {
echo "<tr>";
echo "<td>" . $y . "</td>";
}
echo "</tr>";
echo "</table>";
?>
And i would like to put it inside here.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<style>
.links line {
stroke: #999;
stroke-opacity: 0.6;
}
.nodes circle {
stroke: #fff;
stroke-width: 1.5px;
}
text {
font-family: "Lucida Sans Unicode", "Lucida Grande", sans-serif;
font-size: 10px;
}
</style>
<?php
session_start();
$testaroni = explode("', '" , $_SESSION["data"]);
?>
<html>
<head>
<title>Search</title>
</head>
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://www.w3schools.com/w3css/4/w3.css">

<!-- Sidebar -->
<div class="w3-sidebar w3-blue-grey w3-bar-block " style="width:15%">
<h4 class="w3-bar-item">Sidelist</h4>
<table border = "1">
<?php
foreach($testaroni as $x=>$y) {
echo '<tr>';
echo '<td>' . $y . '</td>';
}
echo '</tr>';
?>
</table>
</div>
</form>
</body>
</html>

You just need to modify your explode function and your code will work as you want
session_start();
//lets say your $_SESSION["data"] contains
$_SESSION["data"] = 'Value1,Value2,Value3';
//$testaroni = explode("', '" , $_SESSION["data"]);// just use single or double quotes without space
$testaroni = explode("," , $_SESSION["data"]);

You try var_dump( $_SESSION["data"]) and you should check empty $_SESSION["data"].I try put
$testaroni = array("1","2","3");//it work fine

You can read more about my this here
Seems like my eyes are failing me took me a while to see it.
You shouldn't use " when trying to use HTML tags in PHP
What you need to use is '.
<table border = "1">
<tr>
<?php
foreach($testaroni as $x=>$y) {
echo '<td>'.$y.'</td>';
}
?>
</tr>
</table>
The reason for this is that " will treat anything inside it as string while ' will treat it as is.
Refer here for a better explanation.
Also, follow the answer above for your session since it's also wrong.

Your session variable is a CSV string. simply exploding on the comma isn't going to get what you're looking for. You can verify this with var_dump($testaroni);.
Use str_getcsv.
<?php
// always start with php logic;
// it makes the script much easier to follow and
// if you need to redirect, you haven't put out any output yet.
session_start();
// check the docs for info on this function
$testaroni = str_getcsv($_SESSION['data']);
// then, when everything is calculated, print out your output
?>

How can I save my previous dice rolls when I refresh the page?

So I have to roll 6 six sided die and display their corresponding images. I also have to save up to 10 previous roles and append the new ones each time I roll. I'm so far able to create the array of 6 random numbers and link them to their images. I just need to save that role on page refresh. I've just started learning PHP but from what I've gathered I know sessions are needed. All the examples I looked at didn't help.
<?php
// Start the session
session_start();
?>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
<title>Dice Roller</title>
</head>
<style>
h1, input {
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}
img {
width: 70px;
height: 70px;
}
</style>
<body>
<h1>Dice Roller</h1>
<input type="button" value="Roll">
<?php
$newRoll = array(rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6));
$oldRoll = $newRoll;
foreach($newRoll as $num) {
echo '<img src="img/dicefaces/dice0' . $num . '.png" alt="">';
}
echo "<br>";
foreach($oldRoll as $num) {
echo '<img src="img/dicefaces/dice0' . $num . '.png" alt="">';
}
?>
</body>
</html>
You can use $_SESSION to 'store' the old rolls, following logic might help you on your way:
We store the history in $_SESSION['oldrolls'] allowing us to display up to 10 previous rolls (you can set the number you want to show with $max)
Also created a button to allow for session clear, to start with a clean slate.
<?php
// Start the session
session_start();
?>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">

margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}

width: 70px;
height: 70px;
}
</style>
<body>
<h1>Dice Roller</h1>

}
if(isset($_POST['submit'])) {
$newRoll = array(rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6), rand(1, 6));
$max = 10; // store up to 10 previous rolls
$count = isset($_SESSION['oldrolls']) ? count($_SESSION['oldrolls']) : 0;
if($count <= $max) {
$_SESSION['oldrolls'][] = $newRoll; // add new
} else {
array_shift($_SESSION['oldrolls']); // remove oldest
$_SESSION['oldrolls'][] = $newRoll; // add new
}
$_SESSION['oldrolls-reverse'] = array_reverse($_SESSION['oldrolls']); // show last first
echo 'Current roll...';
echo '<br />';
foreach ($newRoll as $num) {
echo $num;
echo '<br />';
}
echo "<br>";
echo 'previous rolls...';
echo '<br />';
echo '<table>';
foreach ($_SESSION['oldrolls-reverse'] as $key => $num) {
if($key === 0) continue;

How to generate a users choice table

I am attempting to create a table that consists of 2 forms where the first form gets info from the second. so i have table1 and table 2. I want to make it to be users choice . a user picks the number of rows and columns(I went up to 7 rows and columns in dropbox) and color from a drop down box and whatever they pick it generates. My problem is when I select something instead of showing me a table row and columns with the colors its showing me 1111 can anyone suggest something? Maybe my logic is wrong please help.
<?php
$color= substr(filter_input(INPUT_GET,'color',FILTER_SANITIZE_NUMBER_INT),0,10);

get first object from result array php

I have view file on my app there is code array I want to get first object of that array without going in loop.
<?php
$result = array_chunk($products->result_array(), 3);
foreach($result as $products){ ?>
<table style="width:100% style="page-break-after:always;" >
<tr>
<?php
foreach($products as $productArray){
$product = (object) $productArray;
echo '<td>';
?>
<div style="width: 100%; height: 210px; border: 1px solid #dddddd; margin: auto 5px 5px 0; padding: 5px;">

<div style="height: 100px; text-align: center;">
<?php echo '<img src="'.'uploads/'. $product->photo.'" class="img-responsive" style="height:100px !important; width: 150px !important" />'; ?>
</div>
<div style="clear: both"></div>
<table class="table table-responsive">
<tr>
<th><FONT SIZE=12>ID</FONT></th>
<td><FONT SIZE=14><?php echo $product->product_id; ?></FONT></td>
</tr>
$result is array of object I'm getting from a form. In below you can clearly see I'm chunking it to 3 more array and looping though individual objects and getting their details to html for example.
<tr>
<th><FONT SIZE=12>ID</FONT></th>
<td><FONT SIZE=14><?php echo $product->product_id; ?></FONT></td>
</tr>
I want to get the first object details let's say want get $product->product_name of first object of result array without going in loop how to achieve that.
here is complete view file code.

ok man as i said u need to change your way of writing codes but about your specific question use this:
$result = array('a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e');
reset($array);
$first = current($array);
you can check this:
http://php.net/manual/en/function.reset.php
http://php.net/manual/en/function.current.php
But still about your way of coding. u should soon go to MVC or such ways of programming so u should separate your view and coding logics
like u may have a page like view_profile.php which is going to show user's information. in regular coding u have this:
view_profile.php:
<?php session_start();
// you check sessions to see if the user is logged in and has the right to view this page.
// like:
if ($_SESSIONS['is_user_logged_in']){
$username=$_SESSIONS['username'];
$name=$_SESSIONS['name'];
// ....
}else{
header('location: ./login.php');// if user is not authenticated u redirect to login page
exit();// prevents the rest of codes to be shown and executed
}
?>
<html>
<head>
<title>View <?php echo $name; ?>'s profile</title>
</head>
<body>
<div>Name: <span><?echo $name; ?></span></div>
......
</body>
</html>
But in a better way u can do it like this:
you have files like
'view_profile.htm' // holds the HTML
'view_profile.php // holds the PHP logic
'inc.php' // holds some useful functions that help you in writing PHP logic
view_profile.htm
<html>
<head>
<title>View <?php echo $name; ?>'s profile</title>
</head>
<body>
<div>Name: <span><?echo $name; ?></span></div>
......
</body>
</html>
inc.php
<?php
function ses_start(){
if(!session_id()){
session_start();
}
}
function ses_get($key){
ses_start();
if(!empty($_SESSION[$key])){
return $_SESSION[$key];
}
return NULL;
}
function ses_set($key,$val){
$_SESSION[$key]=$val;
}
function is_user_loggedin(){
ses_start();
if(!empty(ses_get('is_user_loggedin')){
return true;
}
return false;
}
function go($to){
header('location: '.$to);
exit();
}
//and lots of useful functions that help u connect and work with data base.
view_profile.php
<?php
include('inc.php');
if(is_user_loggedin(){
$username=ses_get('username');
$name=ses_get('name');
//...
}else{
go('login.php);
}
include('view_profile.html); // and u call the .htm file that holds the HTML the view file)
?>
this was a simple sample of separating codes logic(php codes) from views(html tags)
and also u may search about MVC Model-View-Controller and try working with simple MVC frameworks.

Select data from SQL database and display in table does not work

I don't understand why this isn't working, I have been stuck on this for ages and tried lots of different alternatives, but it just doesn't print the data from the database.
At the moment I am just trying to get the id to print, but eventually I want to print most of the data in the database (not including the hash).
Here is my code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Staroids Leaderboard</title>
</head>
<body>
<table border=1px>
<thead>
<tr>
<td>name</td>
<td>score</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<?php
$connect = mysql_connect("localhost","root", "password");
if (!$connect) {
die(mysql_error());
}
mysql_select_db("staroids");
$results = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM scores");
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($results)) {
$name = $row['id']
?>
<tr>
<td><?php echo '$name'?></td>
</tr>
<?php
}
?>
</tbody>
</table>
</body>
</html>
The image below shows what it looks like in html:
This image shows the database in local host and as you can see there is lots of data, but none of the names seem to print?!
Correct your syntax where it could be
$name = $row['id']; //Put ; here
<?php echo $name;?> //Remove quotes and put ;
Select name from DB and you can get name then.It should be
$results = mysql_query("SELECT id,name FROM scores");
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($results)) {
$name = $row['name'];
?>
<td><?php echo $name;?></td>
And dont use mysql_* functions due to they are deprecated.Instead use mysqli_* functions or PDO statements.
And as #Nedstark said use try die(mysql_error()); for the errors regarding the mysql errors.
<td><?php echo $name;?></td>
or use
<td><?php echo "$name";?></td> <!--(Bad idea but works)->
Variables work in double quotes("") not in single quotes('')
<?php
session_start();
if (!(isset($_SESSION['UserName'])))
{
echo "<script type=\"text/javascript\">alert('Unauthorize user are redirected to Login page');".
header('Location:http://localhost/campus');
}
include_once "connect.php";
$find = mysql_query("YOUR SELECT STATEMENT ") or die('error');
ob_start();
?>

Other than changing mysql ==> msqli, I'd recommend a couple of debug strategies, in this case I would:
fix the echo, you need to pick one of those two options:
<?php echo $variable; ?>
<?php echo "this is my variable {$variable}"; ?>
If you put a single quote PHP don't parse the content of what is about to print, it just print it as text, so what you have should print $name in the HTML...but, since I don't see any $name text in the black screenshot I think you might even not get into that loop...
a good debug strategy would be to query for something broader, i.e. "SELECT * FROM `scores`", then you can do a
<?php print_r($row); ?>
right after while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($results)) {

Load Google Maps on webpage using Javascript and PHP through drop down form

I am having two drop down lists on a html page. The data is coming from a mysql database and contains information like latitude, longitude and address. The user selects one item from the drop down and clicks on submit.
At this stage, I want to display a google map and put a marker at the latitude and longitude. Then, when the user selects the option from second drop down, I want to just add a marker on that map.
Currently, I am able to load the map once he clicks the submit from first drop down but all the options I tried to drop the pins are not working.
Here is the code I have achieved till now:
<?php
error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors', '1');
require_once('auth.php');
include ('LoginConfig.php');
include ('FetchAgentDetails.php');
include ('FetchDeliveryDetails.php');
?>
