Cannot Connect to MySQL with PHP - php

I have the following code:
<?php
//Step1
$db = mysqli_connect('localhost','root','[mypassword]','users')
or die('Error connecting to MySQL server.');
?>
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<h1>PHP connect to MySQL</h1>
</body>
</html>
I am just trying to connect to my MySQL database. It is administered using phpMyAdmin. I am very unfamiliar with MySQL and I have never used it before. [mypassword] is the password I use to successfully connect to mySQL from the Mac terminal. "users" is a name of a table I have created in phpMyAdmin. I am using cPanel. I keep on getting the error:
Error connecting to mySQL server.
In phpMyAdmin it says Server: localhost:3306. I have tried for a very long time to fix this problem but with no results. What am I doing wrong?
I have also tried the following:
<?php
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "root";
$password = "[myPassword]";
try {
$conn = new PDO("mysql:host=$servername;dbname=users", $username, $password);
// set the PDO error mode to exception
$conn->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION);
echo "Connected successfully";
}
catch(PDOException $e)
{
echo "Connection failed: " . $e->getMessage();
}
?>
After visiting the webpage it says
Connection failed: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user
'root'#'localhost' (using password: YES)

Be sure that your mySql instance is up. You can download sequelpro and use that to connect to your mySQL. If that doesn't work then its a mysql setting/config that is wrong.

You can try this code
<?php
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "username";
$password = "password";
// Create connection
$conn = mysqli_connect($servername, $username, $password);
// Check connection
if (!$conn) {
die("Connection failed: " . mysqli_connect_error());
}
echo "Connected successfully";
?>
How to Connect to mysql using php

Use a try catch to handle errors on the connection proccess, but i strongly advise you to use PDO by alternative from mysqli PDO Book
Use something like this:
<?php
try
{
if ($db = mysqli_connect($hostname_db, $username_db, $password_db))
{
//do something
}
else
{
throw new Exception('Unable to connect');
}
}
catch(Exception $e)
{
echo $e->getMessage();
}
And check if the code print some connection error.

I cannot connect MySQL web server

I added a database to my cPanel, but I cannot connect it.
try{
$db = new
PDO('mysql:host=markus.veridyen.com;dbname=sosyalki_pratiki1_ipss;charset=utf8','sosyalki','password');
}catch(PDOException $e){
echo 'Hata: '.$e->getMessage();
}
When I try to connect my database, it gives me this error message:
Hata: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] The connection could not be established because the target machine actively refused.
Notice: Undefined variable: db in C:\xampp\htdocs\ipss\survey.php on line 55
You still can use localhost as server name on a live server.
I'll assume you are using cpanel.
<?php
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "username"; //your cpanel username
$password = "password"; //your cpanel password
try {
$conn = new PDO("mysql:host=$servername;dbname=DatabaseName", $username, $password);
// set the PDO error mode to exception
$conn->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION);
echo "Connected successfully";
} catch(PDOException $e) {
echo "Connection failed: " . $e->getMessage();
}
?>

What is the issue in this PHP code to connect on localhost XAMPP

The error is:
Connection failed: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'moomen'#'localhost' (using password: YES)
Code is:
<?php
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "moomen";
$password = "9124279123";
$dbname = "ecocaa";
try {
$conn = new PDO("mysql:host=$servername;dbname=$servername", $username, $password);
// set the PDO error mode to exception
$conn->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION);
echo "Connected successfully";
} catch (PDOException $e) {
echo "Connection failed: " . $e->getMessage();
}
I can see a problem in your code
In the dbname you have used server name, change the code it will work.

Error 500 when I try to connect MySql with php's mysqli

I have written below php code to connect MySQL DB:
<?php
// Connect to MySQL
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "user";
$password = "A11b22c33&";
// Create connection
$conn = new mysqli($servername, $username, $password);
// Check connection
if (!$conn) {
die("Connection failed: " . mysqli_connect_error());
}
echo "Connected successfully";
?>
However this code fails to make any connection. All I am getting is below error:
currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
However if I remove the connection portion of my code then my php file working perfectly, i.e. I am getting echo as 'Connected successfully'
<?php
// Connect to MySQL
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "user";
$password = "A11b22c33&";
echo "Connected successfully";
?>
Can somebody help me to understand what went wrong? I have checked username and password, and they are perfect
I just installed mysqlnd using apt-get install php-mysqlnd, and it works fine.

Phpmyadmin in remote pc is accessible, but can't connect it with PHP PDO

I'm able to connect phymyadmin of remote pc, but when i try to connect to remote db, I'm getting connection refused error.
I have seen similar kind of question, but not yet answered also it is not active now.SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused with right port
<?php
$servername = "192.168.1.12";
$username = "root";
$password = "root";
try {
$conn = new \PDO("mysql:host=$servername;dbname=my_db", $username, $password);
