URL string compare not working in php - php

I have this URL "https://www.example.com/thymus_vulgaris?tag=Oil&page=2"
where I get /thymus_vulgaris?tag=Oil&page=2 from $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] in php
and I have also saved the same URL in database that I am getting in a variable
$abc = /thymus_vulgaris?tag=Oil&page=2
you can see both URL URI is same I am writing this code.
but comparison is not working please see the screenshot value for better understand
foreach ($redirects as $redirectlink) {
if('/thymus_vulgaris?tag=Oil&page=2' == $redirectlink['title']){
die;
}
}
if I do print_r($redirects) I got this array results see below
Array
(
[0] => Array
(
[title] => /thymus_vulgaris?tag=Oil&page=2
[url] => essential-oils
)
[1] => Array

)
if you see first array value is same as request $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] value.
Can anybody help me quickly?

I guess probably some invisible char, because of which == resulting false,
For example : DEMO
$ php -r '$f1="foo"; $f2="foo\0"; echo $f1.PHP_EOL; echo $f2.PHP_EOL; var_dump($f1); var_dump($f2); var_dump($f1==$f2);'
foo
foo
string(3) "foo"
string(4) "foo"
bool(false)
As you can see above, $f1 and $f2 both are not equal, but looks like same.
Output :

PHP efficiently accessing values in a JSON array on different levels

Working on a personal project that will pull results from an API with full details of each pokemon.
So far I got the contents of the URL and returned the results into a JSON array format.
At the moment I am stuck on trying to retrieve results for[stats] inside from the array in an efficient manner.
private function getGenOnePokemon()
{
// the url of the api
$url = $this->baseUrl;
//get the contents of $url var and decode it into a json array
$json = file_get_contents($url , true);
$pokemon = json_decode($json, true, JSON_UNESCAPED_UNICODE);
// array output of pokemon
echo '<pre> ';
print_r($pokemon);
echo'</pre>';
//echo out value as speed
foreach($pokemon['results'][0] as $happy)
{
echo $happy['name'] . '<br />';
}
// echo base_stat value for speed with value of 90
echo $pokemon['stats'][0]['base_stat'];
}
However I do not seem to get anywhere much printing values/keys as I need to add something else to have full access to the values?
Would prefer not to directly access results, like I am doing with base_stat as plan on using this logic to pass into HTML View layer later.
Example of print_r dump (not full dump as really long) Full example: https://pokeapi.co/api/v2/pokemon/pikachu

Any advice on how to access the data using foreach or other tips greatly appreciated. Thank you!
PHP has a specific function designed to target columnar data from arrays. It is called array_column()
If you want to isolate all of the name elements inside the forms subarray, use this:
$names=array_column($pokemon['forms'],'name');
If you want to isolate all of the base_stat elements inside of the stats subarray, use this:
$base_stats=array_column($pokemon['stats'],'base_stat');
Now you will have $names and $base_stats which are single-dimensional arrays by which you can perform additional processes or return from the function. Clean, intuitive, and simple.
Your $pokemon array doesn't contain a results field. There's only an forms field. So you should iterate over forms to print the names of the forms.
foreach($pokemon['forms'] as $happy) {
echo $happy['name'] . '<br />';
}
You could do the same thing with the stats
foreach($pokemon['stats'] as $stat) {
$base_stat = $stat['base_stat'];
// ...
}

get array name from multilevel array in php

how i can get WP_Widget_Archives from array,
This is my array:
$control = Array
(
[name] => Archives
[id] => archives-6
[callback] => Array
(
[0] => WP_Widget_Archives Object
(
[id_base] => archives
[name] => Archives
[widget_options] => Array
(
[classname] => widget_archive
[description] => A monthly archive of your site’s Posts.
)
[control_options] => Array
(
[id_base] => archives
)
[number] => 8
[id] => archives-8
[updated] =>
[option_name] => widget_archives
)
[1] => form_callback
)
[params] => Array
(
[0] => Array
(
[number] => 6
)
)
[width] => 250
[height] => 200
[id_base] => archives
)
i have try with this code
`echo '<pre>'; print_r(array_keys($control['callback'])); echo '</pre>';`
but I get result like this
Array
(
[0] => 0
[1] => 1
)
where I think the result will be like this
$result = Array
(
[0] => WP_Widget_Archives Object
[1] => form_callback
)
so i can write $result[0] for get WP_Widget_Archives, please help me and thank you for your help :)
Probably you misunderstood array_key function. It will give you keys of the array not value. In your case you require value which is an object 'WP_Widget_Archives', so you can directly use $control['callback'][0].

Merge 2 arrays when keys of 1 matches value in 2

I need help figuring out what I am doing wrong and/or if there is a better way to do it, my question is two part. The first part is I am using Joomla 3.5.1 and in the template I have two fieldsets, one that allows the user to enter links to their social media accounts and the second I am attempting to make a sort if you will using a set of drop downs. This may or may not be the best so I am open to options here.
Now for the second part. I am able to bring in the both field sets into separate arrays, for simplicity array 1 and array 2. Array 1 has the links and array 2 has the order. So my question is this, how would be the best way to loop through and match everything up while removing the empties in array 1 and "none" in array 2.
One thought I did have is should array 2 not be multidimensional and let the key be the "soXYZ", but then how would the best way to match it up knowing that the lengths are different and the order as well.
Array 2 where (-1) are "None" in the drop downs

After the power of posting I was able to eventually get my desired result, which as follows:
I set up three arrays arrLinks (originally Array 1) , arrLinksOrder (originally Array 2) and arrLinksCombined (Array Result), then populated arrLinks with the user entered text links on the template, arrLinksOrder pulls from the drop downs.
My original plan was to have arrLinks be multidimensional but in the end I just set the key's for each in my code.
I then used this stackoverflow link to help combine the arrLinksOrder and arrLinks. Once everything is combined I was able to build the html and really clean up the file to something easier to manage.
Code below:
// Populate the contents of the text-box into an array
$arrLinks = array(
"soFacebook"=> $tbFacebook,
"soTwitter"=> $tbTwitter,
"soGoogle"=> $tbGoogle,
"soLinkedIn"=> $tbLinkedIn,
"soPinterest"=> $tbPinterest,
"soYouTube"=> $tbYouTube,
"soInstagram"=> $tbInstagram,
);
// Populate an array (arrLinksOrder) with the drop down selections
for ($i=1; $i < ($linksCount+1); $i++) {
$varName = 'listSocialOrder'.$i;
$arrLinksOrder[$i] = $$varName;
}
// Combine arrLinksOrder and arrLinks, if the arrLinksOrder exists in arrLinks
foreach($arrLinksOrder as $key) {
if(array_key_exists($key, $arrLinks)) {
$arrLinksCombined[$key] = $arrLinks[$key];
}
}
If anyone has any improvements please feel free to share, this is what worked for me at the time.

php array merge all elements into one and remove the quotes

I need to parse some data from a text and so i copy/pasted it into an array and used it like this:
$array = array("_alpha","_beta","_gama","_delta","_epsilon");
foreach ($array as $key => $value) {
{use the value in my script bellow....}
}
The data was coming from a script that had private declarations on the top of the file looked like this, so it was easy to just copy/paste it.
$private = ["_alpha","_beta","_gama","_delta","_epsilon"];
Now i had to parse many files so i tried to gather that $array data as best as i could into one array, so i can parse it using the same function...Well the best i could come out with is this:
Array
(
[0] => "_alpha","_delta","_beta","_epsilon","_delta","_kapa",
[1] => "_beta","_alpha","_delta","_kapa","_lamda","_epsilon","_array","_alpha"
[2] => "_epsilon","_array","_alpha","_theta","_omega"
[3] => "_alpha"
[4] => "_kapa","_lamda","_epsilon"
[5] => "_beta","_epsilon","_delta","_kapa","_lamda"
[6] => "_omega","_omega","_delta"
....
....
}
Each line represents the header from a file. Note the quotes around the values...
How can i make the above look like this:
Array
(
[0] => _alpha
[1] => _beta
[2] => _gama
[3] => _delta
[4] => _epsilon
...
...
..
)
Each value on its own, and without the quote or commas etc....just a plain value.
I can also extract the data in this format..but i think thats harder to do:
Array
(
[0] => Array
(
[0] => "_alpha"
[1] => "_beta"
[2] => "_gama"
[3] => "_delta"
[4] => "_epsilon"
...
...
..
)
[1] => Array
(
[0] => "_alpha"
[1] => "_beta"
[2] => "_gama"
[3] => "_delta"
[4] => "_epsilon"
[5] => "_epsilon"
...
..
)
...... etc etc ......
[10] => Array
(
[0] => "_alpha"
[1] => "_delta"
[2] => "_omega"
)
}
_Thanks
$private = ["_alpha","_beta","_gama","_delta","_epsilon"];
print_r($private);
Array
(
[0] => _alpha
[1] => _beta
[2] => _gama
[3] => _delta
[4] => _epsilon
)
i dont know whats the problem
but when i use your codes everything works fine

Wikipedia API returns only a tiny set of data?

Hey there,
I'm trying to extract data from Wikipedia articles using its API (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php) from a PHP script, but I always only seem to get a fraction of the real content.
For example, when trying :
$page=get_web_page("http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&titles=Cat&prop=links&format=txt");
echo $page["content"];
This is what I get :
Array ( [query] => Array ( [pages] => Array ( [6678] => Array ( [pageid] => 6678 [ns] => 0 [title] => Cat [links] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => 10th edition of Systema Naturae ) [1] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => 3-mercapto-3-methylbutan-1-ol ) [2] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => Abyssinian (cat) ) [3] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => Actinidia polygama ) [4] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => Adaptive radiation ) [5] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => African Wildcat ) [6] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => African wildcat ) [7] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => Afro-Asiatic languages ) [8] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => Age of Discovery ) [9] => Array ( [ns] => 0 [title] => Agouti signalling peptide ) ) ) ) ) [query-continue] => Array ( [links] => Array ( [plcontinue] => 6678|0|Albino ) ) )
I was requesting the full list of links on the "Cat" article, but I only seem to get the first 10 in alphabetic order.
This happens no matter the format I choose and even from the API itself (see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&titles=Cat&prop=links).
What is causing this restriction, and how can I fix it ?
If you look at the API manual, you will see that there is a pllimit option, which specifies how many links you want to be sent. You can get 500, or 5000 if you have a bot account, at one time.
You will see at the end of the data dump you provided the following: [plcontinue] => 6678|0|Albino ). You can provide this information to the server and get back more links from the page, starting from that point. So the next query you make would be
$page=get_web_page("http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&titles=Cat&prop=links&format=txt&plcontinue=6678|0|Albino");
You will need to keep doing this until the server does not return a plcontinue value.
