How to print jSON values with loop

I am using the following code to print the output of the jSON response but when I try to print
echo $obj->HotelListResponse->customerSessionId; // This is working.
echo $obj->HotelListResponse->HotelList->HotelSummary->name; // This is not working.
When the response contains only one node then its printing perfectly but when there are multiple nodes with same name then its not printing. I tried using foreach just like the below. I also tried using while loop but still I am unable to print the list of hotel names.
My jSON decoded output is like http://pastebin.com/Fr21DkEk
Total code:
$url = "https://api.eancdn.com/ean-services/rs/hotel/v3/list?cid=55505&minorRev=99&apiKey=cbrzfta369qwyrm9t5b8y8kf&locale=en_AU&currencyCode=AUD&xml=<HotelListRequest><city>Brisbane</city><stateProvinceCode>QLD</stateProvinceCode><countryCode>AU</countryCode><arrivalDate>10/16/2014</arrivalDate><departureDate>10/18/2014</departureDate><RoomGroup><Room><numberOfAdults>2</numberOfAdults></Room></RoomGroup><numberOfResults>25</numberOfResults></HotelListRequest>";
$json = file_get_contents($url);
$obj = json_decode($json);
foreach($obj as $val) {
echo $val->HotelListResponse->HotelList->HotelSummary->name;
}
Try this
foreach($obj->HotelListResponse->HotelList->HotelSummary as $val) {
echo $val->name . '<br/>';
}
HotelSummary is an array:
echo $val->HotelListResponse->HotelList->HotelSummary[0]->name;
If you want all of the hotel summaries:
foreach($obj as $val) {
foreach($val->HotelListResponse->HotelList->HotelSummary as $sum) {
echo $sum->name;
}
}
Yes you can directly access them inside the foreach. Like this:
foreach($obj->HotelListResponse->HotelList->HotelSummary as $val) {
// ^^
// since you're interested on just names, you can point it directly on that object, then each of that batch is in `$val`
echo $val->name . '<br/>';
}
// or start from the parent
foreach($obj as $values) {
$customerSessionId = $values->customerSessionId;
echo $customerSessionId . '<hr/>';
$hotelList = $values->HotelList;
foreach($hotelList->HotelSummary as $hotelsummary) {
echo $hotelsummary->name . '<br/>';
}
}

How to Converting Json To HTML Table?

I have a script that outputs some json.
My json looks like this:
{"_get_RoomResult":{"DATA":{"FIELD":[{"F0":"project_no","F1":"room_no"},"",{"F0":"BR1","F1":"A302"},{"F0":"KB2","F1":"1202"}]}}}
The structure is like this: (from .asmx):
How can i convert the data to an HTML table with PHP?
I have tried the following:
<?php
include("lib/nusoap.php");
$client = new nusoap_client("http://originserv.homeip.net/pap_test2/service1.asmx?wsdl",true);
$params = array('KeyWord'=>'1234!##$%^','Server_Name'=>'Server_Name','Database_Name'=>'PAP_Property','ProgramName'=>'Web_Cust_Room','Program_Module'=>'','Current_User'=>'','PcUser'=>'','PcName'=>'','IP'=>'','User_Version'=>'','Group_Name'=>'ARA','Username'=>'thitima_k');
$data = $client->call('_get_Room', $params);
//print_r($data);
$result=json_encode($data);
//print_r($result);
$mydata = json_decode($result,true);
?>
What should I do next?
I want the output to show like this:
How to convert your JSON data to a HTML table?
<?php
// json
$result = '{"_get_RoomResult":{"DATA":{"FIELD":[{"F0":"project_no","F1":"room_no"},"",{"F0":"BR1","F1":"A302"},{"F0":"KB2","F1":"1202"}]}}}';
// turn json into array
$data = json_decode($result,true);
// render table
echo "<table>";
// the data to iterate over is in a sub-array
//var_dump($data['_get_RoomResult']['DATA']['FIELD']);
$render_header = true;
foreach($data['_get_RoomResult']['DATA']['FIELD'] as $values)
{
if(!is_array($values)) continue; // json data contains a string, skip that
if($render_header === true) {
echo '<tr><th>' . $values['F0'] . '</th><th>' . $values['F1'] . '</th></tr>';
$render_header = false; // render header only once
} else {
echo '<tr><td>' . $values['F0'] . '</td><td>' . $values['F1'] . '</td></tr>';
}
}
echo "</table>";

PHP foreach - parsed json from URL

I have a JSON file called from an URL. I've checked and I'm getting the the data from the URL.
I've tried a lot, but I can't get the loop foreach to work - what is wrong?
<?php
$url = 'http://banen.klintmx.dk/json/ba-simple-proxy.php?url=api.autoit.dk/car/GetCarsExtended/59efc61e-ceb2-463b-af39-80348d771999';
$json= file_get_contents($url);
$data = json_decode($json);
$rows = $data->{'contents'};
foreach($rows as $row) {
echo '<p>';
$FabrikatNavn = $row->{'contents'}->{'FabrikatNavn'};
$ModelNavn = $row->{'contents'}->{'ModelNavn'};
$PrisDetailDkk = $row->{'contents'}->{'PrisDetailDkk'};
echo $FabrikatNavn . $ModelNavn . ' Pris ' . $PrisDetailDkk;
echo '</p>';
}
?>
The actual problem is you trying to access content object again. Just change your foreach snippet with,
foreach ($rows as $row) {
echo '<p>';
$FabrikatNavn = $row->FabrikatNavn;
$ModelNavn = $row->ModelNavn;
$PrisDetailDkk = $row->PrisDetailDkk;
echo $FabrikatNavn . $ModelNavn . ' Pris ' . $PrisDetailDkk;
echo '</p>';
}
DEMO.
Use json_decode($data, true) so that it parses the JSON content into a PHP array. So it will be something like
$rows = $data['contents'];
foreach($rows as $row) {
echo '<p>';
$FabrikatNavn = $row['contents']['FabrikatNavn'];
$ModelNavn = $row['contents']['ModelNavn'];
$PrisDetailDkk = $row['contents']['PrisDetailDkk'];
echo $FabrikatNavn . $ModelNavn . ' Pris ' . $PrisDetailDkk;
echo '</p>';
}
Take a look at using json_decode($json, true) as this will convert the data to an associative array which seems to be the way you are approaching the solution.
Check the output by printing with var_dump() or print_r()
Try like this
$data = json_decode($json,true); //decode json result as array and thenloop it
print '<pre>';
print_r($data);
foreach($data as $row){
//do something here
}

PHP (XML TO ARRAY) Getting the attribute of the xml that is array

Hello I am getting games in the spilgames xml. I managed to convert it to array but 1 problem came up again the problem is that the string I want to get is inside of an array or an attribute of 1 node xml .I can't get the attribute.
I want to get the attribute.
website of spilgames: here
Code I have so far:
<?php
$xml = simplexml_load_string(file_get_contents('http://publishers.spilgames.com/rss-3?limit=100&format=xml&category=Action')); /* Get the xml */
$json = json_encode($xml);
$games = json_decode($json); /* Make it an array */
$game = $games->entries->entry;
foreach($game as $entry) { /* Each game information */
echo $entry->title;
echo $entry->id;
echo $entry->description;
echo $entry->category;
echo $entry->subcategory;
echo $entry->technology;
echo $entry->player->url;;
echo $entry->thumbnails->small->url; /* Problems starts here */
/* Because the thumbnails has 3 child but the info is inside of each child */
}
?>
I am getting the xml not json in spilgames because I don't know how json works.
If I were you I would learn how JSON works because it will make your life easier:
<?php
$json = file_get_contents('http://publishers.spilgames.com/rss-3?limit=100&format=json&category=Action');
$data = json_decode($json);
foreach ($data->entries as $entry) {
echo $entry->title . "\n";
echo $entry->id . "\n";
echo $entry->description . "\n";
echo $entry->category . "\n";
echo $entry->subcategory . "\n";
echo $entry->technology . "\n";
echo $entry->thumbnails->small . "\n";
echo $entry->thumbnails->medium . "\n";
echo $entry->thumbnails->large . "\n";
}
?>

PHP foreach loop read files, create array and print file name

Could someone help me with this?
I have a folder with some files (without extention)
/module/mail/templates
With these files:
test
test2
I want to first loop and read the file names (test and test2) and print them to my html form as dropdown items. This works (the rest of the form html tags are above and under the code below, and omitted here).
But I also want to read each files content and assign the content to a var $content and place it in an array I can use later.
This is how I try to achieve this, without luck:
foreach (glob("module/mail/templates/*") as $templateName)
{
$i++;
$content = file_get_contents($templateName, r); // This is not working
echo "<p>" . $content . "</p>"; // this is not working
$tpl = str_replace('module/mail/templates/', '', $templatName);
$tplarray = array($tpl => $content); // not working
echo "<option id=\"".$i."\">". $tpl . "</option>";
print_r($tplarray);//not working
}
This code worked for me:
<?php
$tplarray = array();
$i = 0;
echo '<select>';
foreach(glob('module/mail/templates/*') as $templateName) {
$content = file_get_contents($templateName);
if ($content !== false) {
$tpl = str_replace('module/mail/templates/', '', $templateName);
$tplarray[$tpl] = $content;
echo "<option id=\"$i\">$tpl</option>" . PHP_EOL;
} else {
trigger_error("Cannot read $templateName");
}
$i++;
}
echo '</select>';
print_r($tplarray);
?>
Initialize the array outside of the loop. Then assign it values inside the loop. Don't try to print the array until you are outside of the loop.
The r in the call to file_get_contents is wrong. Take it out. The second argument to file_get_contents is optional and should be a boolean if it is used.
Check that file_get_contents() doesn't return FALSE which is what it returns if there is an error trying to read the file.
You have a typo where you are referring to $templatName rather than $templateName.
$tplarray = array();
foreach (glob("module/mail/templates/*") as $templateName) {
$i++;
$content = file_get_contents($templateName);
if ($content !== FALSE) {
echo "<p>" . $content . "</p>";
} else {
trigger_error("file_get_contents() failed for file $templateName");
}
$tpl = str_replace('module/mail/templates/', '', $templateName);
$tplarray[$tpl] = $content;
echo "<option id=\"".$i."\">". $tpl . "</option>";
}
print_r($tplarray);
