How to put URL string in json Viber API php - php

I am a newbie developer trying to learn web development. I am currently working on this project where articles from a website get shared automatically to a viber public chat. I am facing this problem where I cannot put the URL in the media. I think this is because its json. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I have included.
<?php
$Tid = "-1";
if (isset($_GET['id'])) {
$Tid = $_GET['id'];
}
$url = 'https://chatapi.viber.com/pa/post';
$jsonData='{
"auth_token":"4750f56f26a7d2ed-f6b44b76f03d039a-9601b6c9d0d46813",
"from": "K9/C2Vz12r+afcwZaexiCg==",
"type":"url",
"media": "$thisID"
// I want to use $thisID as shown above. But when I
do so this error appears [ {"status":3,"status_message":"'media' field value is not a valid url."} ]
// When I use any full form url like https://google.com it works fine
}';
$ch = curl_init($url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $jsonData);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array('Content-Type: application/json'));
$result = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
?>

This would work as you are using a single quoted literal.
"media": "' . $thisID . '"
But you are always better to make a PHP array or Object and then use json_encode() to create the JSON String like this
$obj = new stdClass;
$obj->auth_token = "4750f56f26a7d2ed-f6b44b76f03d039a-9601b6c9d0d46813";
$obj->from = "K9/C2Vz12r+afcwZaexiCg==";
$obj->type = 'url';
$obj->media = $thisID;
$jsondata = json_encode($obj);
RESULT of echo $jsondata;
{"auth_token":"4750f56f26a7d2ed-f6b44b76f03d039a-9601b6c9d0d46813",
"from":"K9\/C2Vz12r+afcwZaexiCg==",
"type":"url",
"media":"-1"
}

How to use json to pass data from a php file to another php file

As mentioned earlier , i am working on the local server as of now in xampp. I have created 2 files index.php and test.php. What i want to achieve is that , index.php will send json data to test.php , with the json data received , the test.php is able to use that json data to turn the statistics into graph.
I am working with the first step , but however , nothing seems to display on my test.php when i tried to do a var_dump($data) , and what i get is NULL. Tried alot of solutions online but none to seems to fix it. I am relatively new to this , so really thanks and appreciate of your help. First php is index.php , second php is test.php.
Do i require a live server as of now in order to see the results in test.php or local server unable to display the result?

Getting a specific value from an array

I'm trying to get a specific column from an array for each record returned.
The array is called fields and one of the arrays in the array is locations. I'm looking for a specific column in the array called name.
Here's what I have:
foreach ($new_results as $result):?>
$locations = array_map($result->locations->location,function($obj) { return $obj->location; });
echo implode(",",$locations);
endforeach;
I'm connecting to a web service to pull this data. The above is the code that the company gave me, but they haven't tested it as far as I know. It doesn't work for me.
Here's the call to the API
$results = $connection->call('groups/getAll', $params=array("suspended" => "no","fields" =>"locations"));
$new_results = $results->groups->group;
Here's an example from the API.
{
"id": "xxxx",
"fields": {
"locations": [
"North",
"Central"
]
}
}
Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? I'm still very new to PHP so I may be missing something very obvious.
How to get json using curl:
How to get JSON data from Rest API by PHP Curl?
Now with that in mind you can dive a little deeper into the object manipulation in terms of the response here: Accessing JSON object elements in PHP.

I am able to fetch the data from facebook in json format but not able to insert in the database.

The code is working fine but i am not able to insert the user data in the mysql database.
<?php
$facebookAppAuthUrl = 'https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token';
$facebookGraphUrl = 'https://graph.facebook.com';
$facebookClientId = ''; // Put your App Id here.
$facebookRedirectUrl = ''; // Redirect url same as passed before.
$facebookAppSecret = ""; // Put your App Secret here.
$code = $_GET['code'];
$url =$facebookAppAuthUrl."?client_id=".$facebookClientId
."&redirect_uri=".$facebookRedirectUrl
."&client_secret=".$facebookAppSecret
."&code=".$code;
$output = urlResponse($url);
$var = strtok($output, "&");
$ApCode = strtok($var, "=");
$ApCode = strtok("=");
// This $ApCode will be used as a token to get user info from facebook.
$url = $facebookGraphUrl.'/me';
echo '<pre>';
$resposeObj = json_decode(processUrl($url,$ApCode));
var_dump($resposeObj);
echo '<pre>';
function urlResponse($url)
{
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 0);
curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$response = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
return $response;
}
function processUrl($url,$apCode){
if(stripos($url,'?')>0)
$url = $url.'&access_token='.$apCode;
else
$url = $url.'?access_token='.$apCode;
return urlResponse($url);
}
?>
I guess the code below is wrong. I got the user data from facebook in JSON format but unfortunately I am not able to add user data in mysql using the PHP. How could we insert the json format data in mysql using php?
<?php
require('../conn.php');
$name = $url['id']['name'];
$first_name = $url['id']['first_name'];
$last_name = $url['id']['last_name'];
$hometown = $url['id']['hometown'];
{
$sql="insert into user values('','$name','$first_name','$last_name','$hometown')";
mysql_query($sql);
}
?>
<script type="text/javascript">window.location="../index.php"</script>
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
Here what you need to do , first the JSON returned data needs to be converted to array as
$response = json_decode($response,true);
Now with this data you have the array and you can use print_r($response) and see how the array looks like and use the data in the query.
Hope this helps
So, apparently I can't comment without 50 rep points - so whatever. I suspect your insert statement is off. Why do you have an empty string at the beginning? I hope that's not your primary key field. I would specify my fields if I were you and leave the auto-inc field out of it so it can auto increment :)
$sql="insert into user (`name`,`firstName`,`LastName`,`homeTown`) values('$name','$first_name','$last_name','$hometown')";

Google maps response's language issue

I'll try to be short: if you need more info, I'll tell you.
I'm using this code to get infos from Google Maps:
<?php
function getData($url) {
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0); //Change this to a 1 to return headers
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERAGENT, $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$data = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
return $data;
}
$url = 'http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?output=xml&q=' . urlencode($startPlace);
$url = 'http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?sensor=false&gl=IT&address=' . urlencode($startPlace);
$xml = simplexml_load_string($this->getData($this->url)) or die("Error loading xml data");
$points = $xml->Response->Placemark->Point->coordinates;
$provincia = $xml->Response->Placemark->AddressDetails->Country->AdministrativeArea->SubAdministrativeArea->SubAdministrativeAreaName;
$regione =$xml->Response->Placemark->AddressDetails->Country->AdministrativeArea->AdministrativeAreaName;
echo $regione."<br>";
preg_match_all("/-*[0-9.]*(?=,)/", $points[0], $matches);
$longitude = $matches[0][0];
$latitude = $matches[0][2];
The code is used to retrieve infos about italian locations and till three days ago, all worked fine, but this morning I saw something strange: $regione returned by code ($xml->Response->Placemark->AddressDetails->Country->AdministrativeArea->AdministrativeAreaName;) had an english name.
Let's say the location found be a little town in Lombardia (where 'Lombardia' is the name of the Administrative Area), the Administartive Area name returned by Google Maps was no more 'Lombardia' but 'Lombardy'.
Since this data is used to search in a local database other places in the Administrative area and since the name used in the database is obviously italian name, application doesnìt work anymore.
I'll be grateful for any advice
The problem is solved using a different url, specifying language parameter:
'http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/xml?sensor=false&language=IT&address=' . urlencode($startPlace);
This url type return correct results but defferently formed so it is necessary change the code to access the infos and put them into variables, but this solved my problem

How do I use PHP, Twitter API to get more or all of my followers?

I have a twitter api php script successfully spits out the last 100 of my followers
$flwrs_url = "http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/followers/exampleuser.json";
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $flwrs_url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$curlout = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
$response = json_decode($curlout, true);
foreach($response as $friends){
$id = $friends['id'];
$screen_name = $friends['screen_name'];
....
(I used exampleuser instead of my own account)
How do I extend this to include more or all of my followers?
Thank you
According to the Twitter API Documentation for GET followers/ids the request should return up to 5000 followers.
However, if not all followers are returned by the API, there should be a next_cursor element in the response which can be used to retrieve the next batch of followers. You only have to append the value of next_cursor as cursor to the request (see also the API documentation).
Please note that you are using Version 1 of the Twitter API which has been deprecated recently. That is, it will stop working probably early next year. You should upgrade to Version 1.1 as soon as possible. There are new guidelines in place, one of them is that all requests must be authenticated with oAuth.
Thanks for the answer Florian. BTW stumbing around I think I found the correct way to do what I was looking for. Correct me if I'm wrong.
after using the:
$code=$tmhOAuth->request('GET', $tmhOAuth->url('1/followers/ids'),
array('screen_name' => $user, 'cursor' => $cursor));
technique to grab all 5000 followers (user ids). I use the following code to grab batches of 100 (user details) at a time:
$status_url = "http://api.twitter.com/1/users/lookup.json?user_id=";
$lastNum=$last; // $lastNum=100;
$i=$first; // $i=0;
while($i<$lastNum){
if ($i==($lastNum-1)){
$status_url = $status_url . "$followers[$i]";
}else{
$status_url = $status_url . "$followers[$i],";
}
$i++;
}
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $status_url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$curlout = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
$response = json_decode($curlout, true);
$i = 0;
foreach($response as $friends){
$id = $friends['id'];
$screen_name = $friends['screen_name'];
$name = $friends['name'];
$thumb = $friends['profile_image_url'];
$url = $friends['screen_name'];
$location = $friends['location'];
$description = $friends['description'];
echo "$i) $id $screen_name $name $location $description<br />";
$i++;
}
I realize I need to put "sleep" in between each of these "batches of 100", but I'm not quite sure how much to use.
