Coverting CURL command to CURL php - php

I am trying to add documents to elastic search index via bulk API. My CURL query works fine on command line and I converted it to PHP.
When I am trying to run PHP code, nothing happens. Neither documents are added in index in elastic search, nor any error appears.
CURL Query:
curl -H "Content-Type:application/json" -XPOST "http://localhost:9200/inven/default/_bulk?pretty" --data-binary "#file_name.json"
PHP Query:
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://localhost:9200/inven/default/_bulk?pretty');
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$post = array(
'file' => '#' .realpath('file_name.json')
);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $post);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);
$headers = array();
$headers[] = 'Content-Type: application/json';
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
curl_close ($ch);
I have set ini_set('max_execution_time', 0); as well, in case it, it was timing out.
What could be the issue?

You are not sending the actual file contents, just its filename as a string. Try this:
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://localhost:9200/inven/default/_bulk?pretty');
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1 );
// The line below assumes the file_name.json is located in the same directory
// with this script, if not change the path to the file with the correct one.
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, file_get_contents('file_name.json') );
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array('Content-Type: application/json'));
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
curl_close ($ch);

try $post = '#' .realpath('file_name.json')

If you are using PHP 5.5+, use:
$post = [
'file' => curl_file_create('file_name.json')
];

CURL with PHP to Azure

How can create one workitem with CURL with PHP:
<?php
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL,
"https://dev.azure.com/fernandodomenike/fernando/_apis/wit/workitems/$Task?api-version=5.1");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$post = array(
'file' => '#' .realpath('azure.json')
);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $post);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERPWD, 'username' . ':' . 'secret');
$headers = array();
$headers[] = 'Content-Type: application/json-patch+json';
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
curl_close ($ch);
I try execute with command line Windows and work.
Whats is my wrong?
File upload via # is a feature from command line cURL client, you have to implement your own code on PHP to do that.
Example:
$json = file_get_contents('azure.json');
// Attach JSON string to the POST fields
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $json);
I hope it helps you.

How to convert curl "-b" tag into php curl?

I try to convert this curl command (proxmox api) into php curl : curl -k -b "PVEAuthCookie=PVE:root#pam:4EEC61E2::rsKoApxDTLYPn6H3NNT6iP2mv..." https://10.0.0.1:8006/api2/json/
I used the site https://incarnate.github.io/curl-to-php/ to convert it but it doesn't support the "-b" tag.
After some search, I tried this code :
<?php
$apiurlvmName = "https://10.0.0.1:8006/api2/json/";
$proxmoxid = "username=root#pam&password=mypass";
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $apiurlvmName);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $proxmoxid);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIE, "PVEAuthCookie=PVE:root#pam:4EEC61E2::rsKoApxDTLYPn6H3NNT6iP2mv...");
$headers = array();
$headers[] = 'Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded';
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
else {
echo $result;
}
curl_close($ch);
?>
But it doesn't works. The page takes few seconds to load then I get a blank page without error displayed. As if "curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIE, "PVEAuthCookie=PVE:root#pam:4EEC61E2::rsKoApxDTLYPn6H3NNT6iP2mv...");" were not enough.
Did I missed something ? How can I convert the curl "-b" tag correctly into php ? Thank you.
It has already been answered hundreds of times. But just in case, let's copy it here again for those who can't find it.
-b means "COOKIE".
# sending manually set cookie
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array("Cookie: PVEAuthCookie=PVE:root#pam:4EEC61E2::rsKoApxDTLYPn6H3NNT6iP2mv..."));
# sending cookies from file
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, $ckfile);

Using cURL GET statement in PHP

I have a cURL GET statement:
curl -v -X GET "https://admiraltyapi.azure-api.net/uktidalapi/api/V1/Stations/{stationId}" -H "Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key: {subscription key}" --data-ascii "{body}"
that works fine in a terminal window (with my sub key) - I now want to use it in a PHP script to retrieve the associated JSON. Code suggestions for achieving this appreciated...
Not tested but you need something like this with PHP CURL.
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'https://admiraltyapi.azure-api.net/uktidalapi/api/V1/Stations/{stationId}');
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CUSTOMREQUEST, 'GET');
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TRANSFERTEXT, true);
$headers = array();
$headers[] = 'Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key: {subscription key}';
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
curl_close ($ch);

PHP + Dropbox API V2 - show thumbnail

I'm trying to display five images from my Dropbox account through PHP.
Listing them works perfectly using https://api.dropboxapi.com/2/files/list_folder and curl.
The json output, I turn into a PHP array, which tells me what files I need.
Subsequently, I call the images using https://content.dropboxapi.com/2/files/get_thumbnail:
<?php
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, "https://content.dropboxapi.com/2/files/get_thumbnail");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAINFO, "cacert.pem");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, '{"path":"/images/1234.jpg","format":{".tag":"jpeg"},"size":{".tag":"w1024h768"}');
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);
$headers = array();
$headers[] = "Authorization: Bearer SECRET_CODE";
$headers[] = "Content-Type: application/json";
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
curl_close ($ch);
?>
According to documentation this returns some metadata and the main body is the image. Now, what I'm struggling with is how to display the image, as if you were directly accessing the image through the URL (so I can out it in an <img src="">).
I recon I need header('Content-Type: image/jpeg'); but I have no other clue on how to continue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Knal
Get thumbnail request are via the header rather than a Post request. try
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, "https://content.dropboxapi.com/2/files/get_thumbnail");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAINFO, "cacert.pem");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0);
$headers = array();
$headers[] = "Authorization: Bearer SECRET_CODE";
$headers[] = "Dropbox-API-Arg: {"path":"/images/1234.jpg","format":{".tag":"jpeg"},"size":{".tag":"w1024h768"}";
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
curl_close ($ch);

Convert Syntax from cURL to php cURL

I have a cURL command which works very well en CLI (via git Bash). See below:
curl -D- -k -o tvdata.xls -u adminid:adminpw -X GET -H "Content-Type: application/vnd.ms-excel" https://localhost/jira/sr/jira.issueviews:searchrequest-excel-current-fields/temp/SearchRequest.xls?jqlQuery=project+%3D+LPCCU+AND+type+%3D+Incident
This command export very well all issues in an excel file (xls) from my JIRA.
Now i want to transform this command to php curl. I have tried this code below:
$url = 'https://build.bnum.laposte.fr/jira/sr/jira.issueviews:searchrequest-excel-current-fields/temp/SearchRequest.xls?jqlQuery=project+%3D+LPCCU+AND+type+%3D+Incident';
$username ='adminid';
$password ='adminpw';
$file = fopen('tvdata.xls', 'w');
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERPWD, "$username:$password");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CUSTOMREQUEST, "GET");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array("Accept: application/vnd.ms-excel"));
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_NOPROGRESS, FALSE);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FAILONERROR, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 15000);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FILE, $file);
curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
fclose($file);
but when i run this php code, he create an empty excel file only, but without to get an error. If somebody can figure out this problem please?
Thanks in advance
Achillix
Have you tried using on-line converters like this one?
From...
curl -D- -k -o tvdata.xls -u adminid:adminpw -X GET -H "Content-Type: application/vnd.ms-excel" https://localhost/jira/sr/jira.issueviews:searchrequest-excel-current-fields/temp/SearchRequest.xls?jqlQuery=project+%3D+LPCCU+AND+type+%3D+Incident
...you get:
// Generated by curl-to-PHP: http://incarnate.github.io/curl-to-php/
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, "https://localhost/jira/sr/jira.issueviews:searchrequest-excel-current-fields/temp/SearchRequest.xls?jqlQuery=project+%3D+LPCCU+AND+type+%3D+Incident");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CUSTOMREQUEST, "GET");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERPWD, "adminid" . ":" . "adminpw");
$headers = array();
$headers[] = "Content-Type: application/vnd.ms-excel";
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers);
$result = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_errno($ch)) {
echo 'Error:' . curl_error($ch);
}
curl_close ($ch);
...compared with your sample code, CURLOPT_URL and CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER are different, and some other options are not set.
