Now my goal is to copy every row to new csv where every row is copied with _x end for 5 times. So final csv would look like this:

so trying to read a csv file and extracting details from the file and wish to store specific columns of the csv to another csv file.
I have managed to extract the specific columns of the input csv file but not really sure how I can write those extracted columns to another csv file.
Here is the part of my work:

The data that is extracted is basically first and the second column (data[0], data[1]). Just need this to write to another CSV file. The input csv is just a comma delimited file with 5 columns. Any idea how I can modify the foreach loop and the use the fputcsv method?

fputcsv accepts an array on the second parameter.

Instead of reinventing the wheel, you can use php's inbuilt csv functions fgetcsv and fputcsv respectively to ease your work. First read in each row with fgetcsv and store the data in a multidimensional array:

Next edit the rows to add the extra columns using array_merge:

I tried to put the content of the array $parserCsv using the method fputcsv(), with that script:

Is the file open in some other software? (like MS Excel?)

I've searched the web and looked through existing answers but cant find a solution to this one. I want to use php to do the following task. Here are my files:
csv file 1: member.csv

csv file 2: classes.csv
member1|massage|swimming|weights
member2|gym|track|pilates
member3|yoga|running|stretches
I want to output a third file called file3.csv which merges the two above files together based on the key field which is the member number. the output should be like this:
member1|john|smith|2009|massage|swimming|weights
member2|adam|jones|2007|gym|track|pilates
member3|susie|rose|2002|yoga|running|stretches
the delimiter is a bar character. I want to do this just using php - no other languages.
I would be very greatful for a solution.

Assuming the CSV is a file (if not, make the CSV match the $csv, which is essentially the file broken down in the separate lines), here is a very simple way:
$csv = file('mycsv.csv'); $result = array();
//iterate the lines
foreach ($csv as $line)

$result[] = explode(',',$result);
//show the results

Though fgetcsv is probably a safer bet (as others have mentioned) (See the docs).
