Zend Framework using built in PHP server? - php

I am trying to connect to MSSQL Server.
Does Zend have its own server or does it under Apache server in XAMP?

Zend is a company.
There is such a thing as Zend Server.
If however you mean the Zend Framework, then yes it must run on a Web Server, be it Apache, NginX, or Zend Server.

Host Zend Framework 2 and PHP site one AWS Ubuntu server

How can i solve this issue

Zend Studio and MAMP?

Do you use Zend Studio on a Mac? Do you use it with MAMP or Zend Server CE? Can you share your experience? How hard/easy was it to configure for either server? Has it helped your development productivity much, say, over Eclipse+PDT (which is free)?
Basically, I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying Zend Studio. And, since I'm on a Mac, how hard it is to configure for use with MAMP.
I was using MAMP + Zend Studio for 2 years. Then switched to Zend Studio + Zend Server CE. I see no gain in using zend server ce. Right now I've left Zend Studio to a better ide: PhpStorm. Give it a try. I's full featured and not as heavy as zend studio.

Using ZendStudio with XAMPP

I had installed XAMPP, as a matter of convenience, since it installs php, apache (which is what I need) and, in addition, it installs other things like MySQL, but I'm not going to use now.
In XAMPP, I enabled the mssql module (editing the php.ini), to use the connection to Microsoft SQL, and everything works fine.
Now, I'm wanting to debug a script in PHP debugger with ZendStudio and I notice that there are two ways:
Internal
Server
[Internal], uses the ZendStudio "internal" PHP.
[Server], connect to a server (which is what I need).
The point is that I can not do it, I can not understand how it is configured.
I would like to use with the XAMPP apache and php.
I use Internal for now, but I get problems with the mssql module. I was looking at the Zend internal php, copied by hand the mssql dll and edited the php.ini (I am talking about the Zend) but still not working.
Any ideas?
You will need to install either Zend Debugger or xdebug on the server, and then configure Zend Studio accordingly. Both are fairly easy to install on XAMPP, and there are many articles available through Google that detail installation better than I can here.
If you choose to go with Zend Debugger, you shouldn't need to do anything else in Zend Studio, as it is the default debugger. If you opt for xdebug, you will need to edit your Studio configuration to use xdebug instead. This option can be found under PHP > Debug, and is a drop-down labeled PHP Debugger.
Now you can start a debugging or profiling session using the Zend Studio browser toolbar, or from the Remote Debug or Remote Profiling buttons in Studio. I highly suggest reading the Zend Studio manual for some more advanced debugging information.
Also, just to throw this out there, you can replace XAMPP with Zend Server Community, which has Zend Debugger installed and configured by default. Studio 7+ will pick up a Server installation and configures itself to use it automatically.
I'm not all that familiar with ZendStudio, but wouldn't you just use the "Server" option and point to http://localhost/ for the server to connect to?

Zend Server with xampp MySQL

I am running Zend Server,Zend Studio (Trial versions) on Ubuntu 9.10. I am also using xampp to do most of my development. I plan to use Zend Server only to do URL profiling to know function level performance of my code. Is it possible to configure Zend Server to use XAMPP's MySQL database instead of installing a new mysql instance for Zend Server?
No configuration is needed. You don't need to install the MySQL server with Zend Server and just use your regular credentials to connect to the Xampp MySQL instance.

Zend Studio cannot detect Zend Server

PHP Version 5.3.1, Zend Studio 7.1.1.v20091227
Zend Server Community Edition 5.0 (Build: ZendServer-CE-5.0.0GA_RC181-5.3.1-Windows_x86)
Apache/2.2.14 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8k
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I have installed Zend Studio, downloaded and installed Zend Server. Zend Studio does not automatically detect Zend Sever. When Zend Studio is started I am getting the following warning bubble
No local installation of Zend Server
was detected. Click here to find out
more about Zend Server.
The Zend Server is definately up and running correctly. I am able to use the Zend Server web interface and run my PHP applications without any problems.
I have tried manually adding a server in Zend Studio by the following steps:
Servers > New Server
Add Server Name = Zend Server
URL document root = http://localhost
Finish
Set Properties (Zend Server tab)
Enable Zend Server integration = Y
Zend Server URL, Use Default = N
Zend Server URL, URL Suffix = /ZendServer
Zend Server URL, Port Number = 80
Authentication Password =
When I select the 'Show Server Event List' option, Zend Studio correctly opens a browser window with the Zend Server web interface displayed (with 'This feature is supported in the Zend Server Commercial Edition only'.)
Restarting Zend Studio results in the same warning message about Zend Server not detected.
I thought at first that maybe Zend Server Community Edition was not compatible with Zend Studio, but that does not seem to be the case.
Is it possible that there is a version conflict between the installed components or some Windows 7 64-bit incompatibility? Any help would be greatly appretiated.
This identical question was addressed by the Zend developers on the Zend Forum here: http://forums.zend.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=5809
I had the same problem with integrating Zend Studio 10.1 and Zend Server 6.3.
The solution is to add your computer IP address in Zend Server.
You can do this in Zend Server Configuration -> Studio Integration -> Allowed hosts.
