Upgrading from php7.0.33 to php7.3 on Debian 10 (Buster)

I have a web server running on virtual machine Debian 10 (Buster)
I need to upgrade the PHP 7.0.33 to PHP 7.1 or higher, and as you know, debian buster already has PHP 7.3 ready to be installed.
the problem is when i try to sudo apt-get install php7.3-cli or any other php extension it asks me to remove local custome packages which are essential for the web server becase they depends on the old php version.
I tried to do sudo apt-mark hold <custom_package>, but it is still asking me to remove them and preventing me from upgrading/installing the new php version.
How to fix this issue?
Am i doing something wrong?
the reason for upgrading the php is that the upgraded version of web server content requires php version to be 7.1 or higher, i even tried to neglect this platform check, the web server worked but with issues which make the server unfuntional.
Sorry, i'm new to this and just trying to resolve the problem.

How to enable curl in php 7.3+ in uwamp server

I'm running Uwamp server under windows7 and it works perfectly with php versions from 5.5 to 7.0.3 and with curl enabled.
When I switch to php 7.2, 7.3 or latest 7.4.3 uwamp server still working - but without curl.
php_curl.dll file is enabled under extensions (ext) but phpinfo() confirms that curl extension is missing / not enabled. I compared php.ini with previous php versions, modified it but it still doesn't work.
cURL is NOT installed on this server
I have testet xampp and this server has no problem with curl and php 7.3/7.4. I compared php.ini etc. but curl extension still not working under Uwamp.
It seems that the author of the project has abandoned it, because there have been no updates or activities since many years. Maybe someone using it and can help me to solve it.
Any idea would be greatly appreciated!
finally got a working solution for this problem of uwamp and running an up to date version of php and getting curl working.
I have sat here for a couple of days trying to work why you couldn't get a later version of php 7.0.3 without breaking uwamp and curl. So I learnt how to integrate and test php apache as standalones and then working on updating uwamp. Lots of head scratching of working out how uwamp uses its on the fly configuration setup.
I will list all the steps to update your version of uwamp (to apache 4.2 and php 7.4.4 as of Mar 2020)
Download uwamp (portable or installer)
Download c++ runtime https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/VC_redist.x86.exe (taken from the windows php page)
Install the runtime above
Install uwamp to a directory (in this example will just use c:\ making it install to c:\uwamp after expanding)
Before running uwamp
Goto to apache lounge website and download the latest 32 build of apache (4.2)
https://www.apachelounge.com/download/VS16/binaries/httpd-2.4.41-win32-VS16.zip
Expand this archive, it should create a folder called apache2.4
Step in to this directory and copy all the files and paste them here in your uwamp folder (c:\uwamp\bin\apache). This should overwrite all the apache files and add the latest apachephp dll
TIP. Just make sure you havent expanded the apache2.4 zip in the uwamp apache folder, easy to tell as you will see a apache24 appear
Goto to php.net and download the latest THREAD SAFE version of php (7.4.4)
https://windows.php.net/downloads/releases/php-7.4.4-Win32-vc15-x86.zip
Extract the php zip this folder in to the c:\uwamp\bin\php in to a new folder with name of php-7.4.4 (so the files should be in c:\uwamp\bin\php\php-7.4.4)
There you are, you have completed your manual upgrade of uwamp , run uwamp and if no errors appear with in the GUI, everything should be working. Test by opening a browser and use http://localhost/uwamp/phpinfo or http://127.0.0.1/uwamp/phpinfo or click the "phpinfo button" in the uwamp GUI
This way seems to allowed an upgrade of uwamp (except sql) but resolve a common problem of php and curl not working / breaking.
This works for x86 version installed on a 32/64 bit system.
Still trying to work out the kinks for uwamp to be running 64 bit apache and php but should be possible.
Try and delete the version of PHP that is affected by the missing Curl extension and then re-download the version from inside the AWamp interface. I have had similar problems with other extensions and have solved it this way.

How can i install the php-pgsql on windows?

whenever I initiate my localhost webpage, it returns me
Call to undefined function pg_connect()
And i found out the am missing the php-psql on it. Now, how can i install it on windows as all the threads regarding that are on a Ubuntu environment.
I too had the same issue where pdo_pgsql and pgsql were not loading in PHP 7.1.8 even though I had the latest PostgreSQL 9.4.6 and Apache 2.4.26 on Windows Server 2016. The solution was pointing Apache's httpd.conf to the correct libpg.dll in PostgreSQL/bin folder. Then the modules loaded correctly in PHP 7.
See pgsql extension is not loading

Couldnt find class memcached

I have been trying to install memcached on an ubuntu server and I followed a lot of tutorials over the internet. I am using 32-bit ubuntu 12.04, php version 5.4.7, xampp server 1.8.1 which are all 32-bit versions. In the end, I followed the tutorial in the below link and I installed all the things listed with no error.
http://stevelove.org/2009/09/30/how-to-install-php-memcached-on-an-ubuntu-server/
The only problem I have is that when I installed memcached using "sudo pecl install memcached" command, the extension couldn't be added to php.ini file. Then I used phpinfo() to learn which php.ini file I am using and added extension=memcached.so to the ini file. When I restarted xampp server, php.ini file doesn't work and it tries to download the pages. In the php error log, I get this error.
[30-May-2013 16:42:48 UTC] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/opt/lampp/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20100525/memcache.so' - /opt/lampp/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20100525/memcache.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
Since I couldn't enable the extension, even though memcached is listed as installed with php -m command, I get Class memcached not found error when I try to execute my php code.
Can someone please help me with this issue?
Maybe because you installed the server but not the extension, try
sudo apt-get install php5-memcached
ps: memcache != memcached
Firstly, thank you for your answer Mohammad. I know that memcache is not memcached and as I said, when I list modules, memcached seems installed (not memcache) but when I use phpinfo(), memcached is not listed.
It turns out that even though I installed memcached, problem was xampp installation. I removed lampp and php5 installed in ubuntu and purged everything I installed. Then I installed xampp with development packages and re-installed libmemcached etc. It works fine now.
If there is anybody having similar problem, I can explain in detail.

Memcache PHP Extension on Windows

I have found plenty of tutorials covering how to install memcache in Windows and install the PHP extension. My situation though is slightly unusual:
I'm using iis, not apache.
I don't need to install memcache on the server (it has its own dedicated server already setup). I ONLY need to install the extension.
I thought I simply needed to add the PHP_memcache.dll extension to the PHP extension folder and add it to PHP.ini
This causes an error loading the PHP module (unable to load dynamic library).
Is this error likely to be caused because memcache isn't installed on the server and what can I do to solve it?
Errors while loading extensions in Windows are not as helpful as they are in Linux, so you need a tool like dependency walker to fish out the problem.
http://www.dependencywalker.com/
If you are using XAMPP on Windows you probably have installed the 32bit-XAMPP version.
So make sure you are using the 32bit (x86) DLL of Memcache.
The DLL download List for windows can be found here: http://pecl.php.net/package/memcache/3.0.8/windows
