IP Geolocation API Header request with php - php

I am trying to use ip-api.com (IP Geolocation) to retrieve usage limit.
1st - I've managed to use the api with php, but they don't give the usage limit (max 45/minute) in the response format.
They say that that information is returned in the HTTP header.
2nd - So I opened chrome developer network to see if I find the variables (X-R1 and X-Ttl) or whatever they called in the HTTP header but I don't see them there.
3rd - What I've managed to do is using php function (get_headers($url)), it works fine but when ever the script is run it counts as 2 requests for the API, so the usage limits always counts as 2.
How do I find them in the 2nd step or with some php function so I don't have to make another request like i did in the 3rd?
<?php
//1st request
function getClientIp(){
if(!empty($_SERVER['HTTP_CLIENT_IP'])){
//ip from share internet
$ip = $_SERVER['HTTP_CLIENT_IP'];
}elseif(!empty($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'])){
//ip pass from proxy
$ip = $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'];
}else{
$ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
}
return $ip;
}
$clientIp = getClientIp();
$query = #unserialize(file_get_contents('http://ip-api.com/php/'.$clientIp));
if ($query['status'] == 'success'){
echo $query['city'];
echo '<br>';
echo $query['query'];
};
//2nd Request
echo '<br><br>';
$url = 'http://ip-api.com/php/'.$clientIp;
//print_r(get_headers($url));
print_r(get_headers($url, 1)['X-Rl']);

My solution in the end was just using the array variable $http_response_header.
Like this I can get the API response + header in a single request.
<?php
function getClientIp(){
if(!empty($_SERVER['HTTP_CLIENT_IP'])){
//ip from share internet
$ip = $_SERVER['HTTP_CLIENT_IP'];
}elseif(!empty($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'])){
//ip pass from proxy
$ip = $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'];
}else{
$ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
}
return $ip;
}
function parseHeaders( $headers )
{
$head = array();
foreach( $headers as $k=>$v )
{
$t = explode( ':', $v, 2 );
if( isset( $t[1] ) )
$head[ trim($t[0]) ] = trim( $t[1] );
else
{
$head[] = $v;
if( preg_match( "#HTTP/[0-9\.]+\s+([0-9]+)#",$v, $out ) )
$head['reponse_code'] = intval($out[1]);
}
}
return $head['X-Rl'];
}
//body request
$clientIp = getClientIp();
$query = #unserialize(file_get_contents('http://ip-api.com/php/'.$clientIp));
if ($query['status'] == 'success'){
echo $query['city'];
echo '<br>';
echo $query['query'];
}
//header request
echo '<br>Available requests: '.parseHeaders($http_response_header);

PHP - sending GET request with cURL

I am following documentation in the RackSpace API to create a temp URL to a file in our cloud files. It appears I need to send a GET request to a specific URL, but there are these other 2 parameters I don't understand how they get passed. I am using cURL for the GET request.
Here is the sample code:
<?php
if ($argc != 5) {
echo "Syntax: <method> <url> <seconds> <key>";
echo "Example: GET https://storage101.dfw1.clouddrive.com/v1/" .
"MossoCloudFS_12345678-9abc-def0-1234-56789abcdef0/" .
"container/my_cat.jpg 60 my_shared_secret_key";
} else {
$method = $argv[1];
$url = $argv[2];
$seconds = $argv[3];
$key = $argv[4];
$method = strtoupper($method);
list($base_url, $object_path) = split("/v1/", $url);
$object_path = "/v1/$object_path";
$seconds = (int)$seconds;
$expires = (int)(time() + $seconds);
$hmac_body = "$method\n$expires\n$object_path";
$sig = hash_hmac("sha256", $hmac_body, $key);
echo "$base_url$object_path?" .
"temp_url_sig=$sig&temp_url_expires=$expires";
}
?>
And it says this line above that code which may help: "In the following examples, a TempURL that will be available for 60 seconds is generated for the my_cat.jpg object. The key in the examples is the value of X-Account-Meta-Temp-Url-Key."
I've already set the "X-Account-Meta-Temp-Url-Key" header with a POST command previous to this.
Basically, I am confused about how to pass the '60' and the 'my_shared_secret_key' in with the URL.
Here is the full documentation: https://developer.rackspace.com/docs/cloud-files/v1/use-cases/public-access-to-your-cloud-files-account/#tempurl

How to Send via email the Entire Request in PHP

I'm trying to create a php that sends via email all possible information about the request. Currently I'm using something like:
Email request php:
<?php
$remoteIp = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
$remoteHost = $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'];
$remoteRef = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
$remoteUrl = $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];
$userAgent = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
$yourEmailAddress = "user#mail.com";
$emailSubject = "New request from: ".$remoteIp;
$emailContent = "The URL Request was made to: $remoteUrl
The request REFERER was: $remoteRef
The IP was $remoteIp
The User Agent was: $userAgent";
// send the message
mail($yourEmailAddress, $emailSubject, $emailContent);
?>
I like to add the Entire http request (GET OR POST) to the email been send so $emailContent it look like this:
$emailContent = "The URL Request was made to: $remoteUrl
The request REFERER was: $remoteRef
The IP was $remoteIp
The User Agent was: $userAgent"
The Full request was:
$fullrequest";
Looking around I found this https://gist.github.com/magnetikonline/650e30e485c0f91f2f40 which allows you to create file but I'm not sure on how to put it together with my PHP so it sends me an email with the request. (Creating the file is not necessary)
This PHP I like to integrate to my Email request php
<?php
// https://gist.github.com/magnetikonline/650e30e485c0f91f2f40
class DumpHTTPRequestToFile {
public function execute($targetFile) {
$data = sprintf(
"%s %s %s\n\nHTTP headers:\n",
$_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'],
$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'],
$_SERVER['SERVER_PROTOCOL']
);
foreach ($this->getHeaderList() as $name => $value) {
$data .= $name . ': ' . $value . "\n";
}
$data .= "\nRequest body:\n";
file_put_contents(
$targetFile,
$data . file_get_contents('php://input') . "\n"
);
echo("Done!\n\n");
}
private function getHeaderList() {
$headerList = [];
foreach ($_SERVER as $name => $value) {
if (preg_match('/^HTTP_/',$name)) {
// convert HTTP_HEADER_NAME to Header-Name
$name = strtr(substr($name,5),'_',' ');
$name = ucwords(strtolower($name));
$name = strtr($name,' ','-');
// add to list
$headerList[$name] = $value;
}
}
return $headerList;
}
}
(new DumpHTTPRequestToFile)->execute('./dumprequest.txt');
Can any one help me to add class DumpHTTPRequestToFile to $fullrequest?
Something like
<?php
$message="The following request was made:\n";
foreach($_REQUEST as $k=>$v){
$message.=$k." : ".$v."\n\n";
}
mail($to_address, $subject, $message, $headers);
?>
Replace $_REQUEST with the super global of your choice. Or run similar loops across multiple superglobals ($_SERVER, etc) if $_REQUEST doesn't have all you want in it.

Force download on GCS via App Engine using Signed URL

I get my file via:
require_once 'google/appengine/api/cloud_storage/CloudStorageTools.php';
use google\appengine\api\cloud_storage\CloudStorageTools;
$public_link = CloudStorageTools::getPublicUrl("gs://bucket/file.pdf", false);
If I go to $public_link in the browser, it shows the PDF inside the browser. I am trying to figure out how I can force the download of this file.
Google App Engine only has a 60 second timeout so I'm afraid the serve function wont work via GAE. Does anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT
Andrei Volga's previous answer in this post suggests I use a Signed URL with a response-content-distribution header.
So far, I am able to create a signed URL that successfully shows the file but I am not able to generate a signed url that has any sort of header at all aka create a signed URL that will force the download instead of just showing it.
This is what I have so far, most of which is courtesy of mloureiro.
function googleBuildConfigurationString($method, $expiration, $file, array $options = [])
{
$allowedMethods = ['GET', 'HEAD', 'PUT', 'DELETE'];
// initialize
$method = strtoupper($method);
$contentType = $options['Content_Type'];
$contentMd5 = $options['Content_MD5'] ? base64_encode($options['Content_MD5']) : '';
$headers = $options['Canonicalized_Extension_Headers'] ? $options['Canonicalized_Extension_Headers'] . PHP_EOL : '';
$file = $file ? $file : $options['Canonicalized_Resource'];
// validate
if(array_search($method, $allowedMethods) === false)
{
throw new RuntimeException("Method '{$method}' is not allowed");
}
if(!$expiration)
{
throw new RuntimeException("An expiration date should be provided.");
}
return <<<TXT
{$method}
{$contentMd5}
{$contentType}
{$expiration}
{$headers}{$file}
TXT;
}
function googleSignString($p12FilePath, $string)
{
$certs = [];
if (!openssl_pkcs12_read(file_get_contents($p12FilePath), $certs, 'notasecret'))
{
echo "Unable to parse the p12 file. OpenSSL error: " . openssl_error_string(); exit();
}
$RSAPrivateKey = openssl_pkey_get_private($certs["pkey"]);
$signed = '';
if(!openssl_sign( $string, $signed, $RSAPrivateKey, 'sha256' ))
{
error_log( 'openssl_sign failed!' );
$signed = 'failed';
}
else $signed = base64_encode($signed);
return $signed;
}
function googleBuildSignedUrl($serviceEmail, $file, $expiration, $signature)
{
return "http://storage.googleapis.com{$file}" . "?GoogleAccessId={$serviceEmail}" . "&Expires={$expiration}" . "&Signature=" . urlencode($signature);
}
$serviceEmail = '<EMAIL>';
$p12FilePath = '../../path/to/cert.p12';
$expiration = (new DateTime())->modify('+3hours')->getTimestamp();
$bucket = 'bucket';
$fileToGet = 'picture.jpg';
$file = "/{$bucket}/{$fileToGet}";
$string = googleBuildConfigurationString('GET', $expiration, $file, array("Canonicalized_Extension_Headers" => ''));
$signedString = googleSignString($p12FilePath, $string);
$signedUrl = googleBuildSignedUrl($serviceEmail, $file, $expiration, $signedString);
echo $signedUrl;
For small files you can use serve option instead of public URL with save-as option set to true. See documentation.
For large files you can use a Signed URL with response-content-disposition parameter.
You can add and additional query string only.
https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/xml-api/reference-headers#responsecontentdisposition
response-content-disposition
A query string parameter that allows content-disposition to be overridden for authenticated GET requests.
Valid Values URL-encoded header to return instead of the content-disposition of the underlying object.
Example
?response-content-disposition=attachment%3B%20filename%3D%22foo%22

Cannot get required headers from some IPs and ports to parse song title using ShoutCast protocol

I'm trying to extract song title from live mp3 streams using SC protocol. The php script works fine with some IPs and ports, however with some IPs and ports I cannot get required headers from the response to determine the meta-block frequency, therefore I cannot find the location of the song title in the stream. Here's my code:
<?php
while(true)
{
//close warning messages (re-open for debugging)
error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_PARSE);
//create and connect socket with the parameters entered by the user
$sock = socket_create(AF_INET,SOCK_STREAM,SOL_TCP);
echo "Establishing connection to the given adress...\n";
$fp = fsockopen($argv[1], $argv[2], $errno, $errstr, 10);
if($fp)
{
echo "Connection established.\n";
$result = socket_connect($sock, $argv[1], $argv[2]);
//prepare request
$request = "GET / HTTP/1.1\r\n";
$request .= "Icy-MetaData: 1\r\n\r\n";
//send request
socket_write($sock,$request,strlen($request));
//set sentinel boolean value's initial value
$headers = true;
//put the segment to be parsed into a string variable
$l = socket_read($sock,2048);
$meta = "";
$streamurl = "";
$checkContentType = false;
//Parsing metadata frequency and streamurl from response's headers.
foreach(preg_split("/((\r?\n)|(\r\n?))/", $l) as $line)
{
if(!(strpos($line, "metaint:") === false))
{
$meta = $line;
}
if(!(strpos($line, "icy-url:") === false))
{
$streamurl = $line;
}
if(!strpos($line, "audio/mpeg") === false)
{
$checkContentType = true;
}
}
echo $l;
//Checking if the content of the stream is mpeg or not
if($checkContentType)
{
$pos = strpos($meta, ":");
$interval = intval(substr($meta,$pos+1));
$pos = strpos($streamurl, ":");
$streamurl = substr($streamurl, $pos+1);
$flag = false;
//initialize bytecount to 0
$bytecount = 0;
//Extracting song title using SC protocol
while($headers)
{
$l = socket_read($sock,PHP_NORMAL_READ);
$bytecount++;
if($bytecount == $interval )
{
$headers = false;
$flag = true;
}
if($flag)
{
$len = ord($l);
}
}
//Determining length variable
$len = $len * 16;
$string = socket_read($sock,$len);
$pos2 = strpos($string, "'") + 1;
$pos3 = strpos($string, ";",$pos2) -1;
$songtitle = substr($string, $pos2, ($pos3-$pos2));
//Formatting the log entry
$finalstr = "[".date("c")."]"."[".$streamurl."]".$songtitle."\n";
echo "logged".$finalstr;
//finalize connection
socket_close($sock);
//Writing the requested info to a log file
file_put_contents("log.txt", $finalstr,FILE_APPEND | LOCK_EX);
//waiting 5 minutes
echo "Logging next entry in five minutes. \n";
sleep(300);
}
else
{
echo "Content of the stream is not suitable.\n";
exit;
}
}
else
{
echo "Unable to connect to the given ip and port.\n Exiting...\n";
socket_close($sock);
exit;
}
}
?>
I've never tried to access shoutcast programatically but I've run streaming audio servers in the past. There are actually two different flavours of shoutcast server and I would guess your program is trying to talk to one and these broken servers are the other type.
From the post READING SHOUTCAST METADATA FROM A STREAM:
Turns out that SHOUTcast and Icecast (two of the most popular server
applications for streaming radio) are supposed to be compatible, but
the response message from each server is slightly different.

'Node no longer exists' error in PHP

I'm using the following code to turn user's IP into latitude/longitude information using the hostip web service:
//get user's location
$ip=$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
function get_location($ip) {
$content = file_get_contents('http://api.hostip.info/?ip='.$ip);
if ($content != FALSE) {
$xml = new SimpleXmlElement($content);
$coordinates = $xml->children('gml', TRUE)->featureMember->children('', TRUE)->Hostip->ipLocation->children('gml', TRUE)->pointProperty->Point->coordinates;
$longlat = explode(',', $coordinates);
$location['longitude'] = $longlat[0];
$location['latitude'] = $longlat[1];
$location['citystate'] = '==>'.$xml->children('gml', TRUE)->featureMember->children('', TRUE)->Hostip->children('gml', TRUE)->name;
$location['country'] = '==>'.$xml->children('gml', TRUE)->featureMember->children('', TRUE)->Hostip->countryName;
return $location;
}
else return false;
}
$data = get_location($ip);
$center_long=$data['latitude'];
$center_lat=$data['longitude'];
This works fine for me, using $center_long and $center_lat the google map on the page is centered around my city, but I have a friend in Thailand who tested it from there, and he got this error:
Warning: get_location() [function.get-location]: Node no longer exists in /home/bedbugs/registry/index.php on line 21
So I'm completely confused by this, how could he be getting an error if I don't? I tried googling it and it has something to do with parsing XML data, but the parsing process is the same for me and him. Note that line 21 is the one that starts with '$coordinates =' .
You need to check the service actually has an <ipLocation> listed, you're doing:
$xml->children('gml', TRUE)->featureMember->children('', TRUE)->Hostip->ipLocation
->children('gml', TRUE)->pointProperty->Point->coordinates
but the XML output for my IP is:
<HostipLookupResultSet version="1.0.1" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://www.hostip.info/api/hostip-1.0.1.xsd">
<gml:description>This is the Hostip Lookup Service</gml:description>
<gml:name>hostip</gml:name>
<gml:boundedBy>
<gml:Null>inapplicable</gml:Null>
</gml:boundedBy>
<gml:featureMember>
<Hostip>
<ip>...</ip>
<gml:name>(Unknown City?)</gml:name>
<countryName>(Unknown Country?)</countryName>
<countryAbbrev>XX</countryAbbrev>
<!-- Co-ordinates are unavailable -->
</Hostip>
</gml:featureMember>
</HostipLookupResultSet>
The last part ->children('gml', TRUE)->pointProperty->Point->coordinates gives the error because it has no children (for some IPs).
You can add a basic check to see if the <ipLocation> node exists like this (assuming the service always returns at least up to the <hostIp> node):
function get_location($ip) {
$content = file_get_contents('http://api.hostip.info/?ip='.$ip);
if ($content === FALSE) return false;
$location = array('latitude' => 'unknown', 'longitude' => 'unknown');
$xml = new SimpleXmlElement($content);
$hostIpNode = $xml->children('gml', TRUE)->featureMember->children('', TRUE)->Hostip;
if ($hostIpNode->ipLocation) {
$coordinates = $hostIpNode->ipLocation->children('gml', TRUE)->pointProperty->Point->coordinates;
$longlat = explode(',', $coordinates);
$location['longitude'] = $longlat[0];
$location['latitude'] = $longlat[1];
}
$location['citystate'] = '==>'.$hostIpNode->children('gml', TRUE)->name;
$location['country'] = '==>'.$hostIpNode->countryName;
return $location;
}
