I have no idea of web.config I have written some rewrite rules in .htacess , but how to convert those in web.config. I found out about IIS but I was not able to understand anything.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.php [L]
RewriteRule ^payment/([^/]*)$ /vhil/checkout?id=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^product/([^/]*)$ /vhil/product-desc?p=$1 [L]
#admin rules
RewriteRule ^admin/edit/product/([^/]*)$ /vhil/admin/editProduct?id=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^admin/edit/banner/([^/]*)$ /vhil/admin/editBanner?id=$1 [L]

in my website two rewrite rule are conflicting with each other
i have url for my users like= http://twekr.com/sam
and all my website pages open like http://twekr.com/login
now here is htaccess file rules
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^([^\.]+)$ $1.php [NC,L]
RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)$ profile.php?user=$1
RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)/$ profile.php?user=$1
Now only this rule works because its loaded first =
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
And if i put profile rewrite rule above
RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)$ profile.php?user=$1
RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)/$ profile.php?user=$1 (then this works)
and this doesnt
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d (does not work)
What is the problem in htaccess rule?
You should check for presence of .php file before adding .php extension:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.+?)/?$ $1.php [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^([\w-]+)/?$ profile.php?user=$1 [L,QSA]
Here is my files
index.php
blog.php
about.php
I am accessing it as
localhost/index.php or localhost
localhost/blog.php
localhost/about.php
How can i rewrite .htaccess so that i can access it by
localhost/
localhost/blog
localhost/about
Update
My image are not displaying once i applied the below provided .htaccess, can any give fix this ?
Simple try this in .htaccess file :
RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)$ $1.html
Options -MultiViews # optional Depends on Server
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^([^\.]+)$ $1.php [NC,L]
EDIT:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.php [NC,L]
In your .htaccess file
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.php
I'm trying clean my url from
localhost/xxx/profile.php?name=google to
localhost/xxx/google
Below is my htaccess file
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /creatorsink/
RewriteRule ^([a-z]+)/?$ profile.php?name=$1 [L,QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.php [L]
If i remove RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.php [L] it's working properly, if i do so then url not opening without .php extension
Is there any way to use both without conflicting each other.
Ordering of rule is causing problem. Your first rule is grabbing every URI. Reverse the order and make your first rule little more smart.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /creatorsink/
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/?$ profile.php?name=$1 [L,QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/creatorsink/$1.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.+?)/?$ $1.php [L]
I have a .htaccess file that has multiple rules to make the url's look "pretty".
This is the file:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^property/([^/]*)/?([^/]*)/?$ /property.php?ID=$1&Image=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^property$ /property.php [L]
RewriteRule ^enquire/([^/]*)/?([^/]*)/?$ /enquire.php?ID=$1&Data=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^enquire$ /enquire.php [L]
RewriteRule ^contact/?$ /contact.php [L]
RewriteRule ^home/?$ /index.php [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(property|property/.*|enquire|enquire/.*|contact|contact/.*|home|home/.*)$
RewriteRule ^([^/]*)$ /custompages.php?ID=$1 [L]
The first set of rules works for property, enquire, contact and home.
If the url is not one of these, e.g. www.foo.com/about-us, I want it to call the file custompages?ID=about-us but with this code, it isn't working. I am quite new to using .htaccess files and I can't figure out what the issue is myself.
Your last rule is not correct. Change that to:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/?$ /custompages.php?ID=$1 [L]
i have a rewrite rule.
RewriteRule ^pages/(.+)$ info_pages.php?page_url=$1 [L]
this was working well Before.
my url like this but at localhost
http://dressgirls.com/demo2/pages/contact-us.html
this pointing to
http://dressgirls.com/demo2/info_pages.php
when i use this
echo $_GET['page_url'];
it gives me. contact-us.html/contact-us.html/contact-us.html
it should give contact-us.html one time only.
do you have idea what is wrong here.?
This is full code
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^pages/(.+)$ info_pages.php?page_url=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^reviews/(.+)$ edit_review.php?review_id=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^deals/(.+)$ category.php [L]
RewriteRule ^city/(.+)$ location_deals.php [L]
#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} =-f
#RewriteRule ^(.*)\.php$ $1.html [NC,L]
#RewriteRule ^(.*)\.html$ $1.php [NC,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} ^(.*)\.html$
RewriteCond %1.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.*)\.html$ $1.php [L,QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ deal-detail-page.php [QSA,L]
</IfModule>
Thanks.
Change code to:
RewriteBase http://dressgirls.com/
RewriteRule ^pages/(.+)$ info_pages.php?page_url=$1 [L]
and try.
