PHPUnit OOP Declaration - php

I'm trying to understand OOP and inheritance for the code i'm cleaning up.

Since I've already initialize to call OciConnect but when i try to pass over the object to trigger oci_parse
I'm getting the following error :-
PHP Warning: oci_parse() expects parameter 1 to be resource, object given in /I/main.php on line 46
The $conn itself is an object from Oracle class but when i overwrite my object $upSell i can't seem to parse the connection into oci_parse.

You should not be passing the class into the oci_parse function. It is expecting a connection resource. You can get the resource by calling oci_connect. In your class, your function is already doing that, therefore you can return that in the function. See below.

Passing PHP array as parameter for SQL WHERE clause

Adapting an answer from here to try and pass an array as the parameter for a WHERE clause in MySQL. Syntax seems okay but I'm just getting null back form the corresponding JSON. I think understand what it is supposed to do, but not enough that I can work out where it could be going wrong. The code for the function is;

OOP PHP Database results to Array

I am new to the idea of oop php and i am trying to write an irc php.
What I'm trying to do:
I am trying to query my database, get results from my database and put it into an array inside my program.
I tried making a new function to carry out the task and called it in the __construct function.
I have shortened the code but it pretty much looks like this:

Changes
1) Change if ($mysqli->connect_errno) to if ($conn->connect_errno)
2) Change $array[] = $row(); to $array[] = $row;
3) Add return $array; in function database_fetch()
4) Call database_fetch() function inside main() function instead of constructor.
5) Add $this->conn in mysqli_query() (Thanks #devpro for pointing out.)

First of all you need to fix error from your constructor, you can modify as:

Here, you need to replace $mysqli with $conn because your link identifier is $conn not $mysqli
No need to call database_fetch() here.
You need to use $conn as a property.
Now you need to modify database_fetch() method as:

Here, you need to pass add first param in mysqli_query() which should be link identifier / database connection.

Check database connection
Check query syntax
You have to pass connection object in mysqli_query function in you case it is ' $this->conn '

Ok got it,
In your call to db your calling new DB(); which mean you're trying to call the constructor of your DB class.
In your DB class it looks like you're trying to create a singleton, but something is missing normally there would be something to assign the instance the database connection, and something that asks the instance if it's empty create a new connection or if it's not use the same instance.
At the end of the day to make this work you can change your constructor to public.

Your constructor is marked as private which means new DB will raise an error. I see you have a private property to store an instance, are you missing the singleton method to return a new object?

mysqli connection and query

I am new to mysqli and was going through a tutorial from: http://www.binpress.com/tutorial/using-php-with-mysql-the-right-way/17#comment1
I was able to connect to my database using this:

But then I tried wrapping it in a function (as discussed in the tutorial)... I saw that you call the connection function from another function... in the tutorial each function keeps getting called from another and another... and I never quite found where the initial call started from to get the domino effect of functions calling eachother.. so anyway, I tried to stop it at two just to test and teach myself.. but it's not working and I don't know why:
