require 'phpmailer/PHPMailerAutoload.php';
$mail = new PHPMailer(true);
// $mail->SMTPDebug = 4; // Enable verbose debug output
$mail->isSMTP(); // Set mailer to use SMTP
$mail->Host = 'smtp.gmail.com'; // Specify main and backup SMTP servers
$mail->SMTPAuth = true; // Enable SMTP authentication
$mail->Username = 'myemail#gmail.com'; // SMTP username
$mail->Password = 'secret'; // SMTP password
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'tls'; // Enable TLS encryption, `ssl` also accepted
$mail->Port = 587; // TCP port to connect to
$from = $_POST['email'];
$subject = $_POST['subject'];
$mail->From = $from;
$mail->FromName = $_POST['name'];
$mail->addAddress('specialeducationnotes1#gmail.com'); // Add a recipient
$mail->isHTML(true); // Set email format to HTML
$mail->Subject = $subject;
$mail->Body = '<h2 style="text-align: center;"s>Name: '.$_POST['name'].'<br>Email: '.$_POST['email'].'<br>Message: '.$_POST['query'].'</h2>';
$mail->AltBody = 'Hello! Hola! Namaste!';
if(!$mail->send()) {
//echo 'Message could not be sent.';
echo "<script>alert(' Your message could not be sent!');</script>";
echo 'Mailer Error: ' . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
//echo 'Message has been sent';
echo "<script>alert(' Your message is sent!');</script>";
echo "<script>document.location.href='index.php'</script>";
}
}
?>
I just get a blank page with no error message or any text and email is also not sent. Can you tell what's wrong with my code?

I am using PHPMAILER and I am fairly new in it.
I have used the following code but for some reason the email is being sent to spam. Please have a look at the code and tell me what I need to fix. (I am new to using email
<?php
require 'php-mailer-master/PHPMailerAutoload.php';
$mail = new PHPMailer;
//$mail->SMTPDebug = 3; // Enable verbose debug output
$mail->isMail(); // Set mailer to use SMTP
$mail->Host = 'smtp.gmail.com'; // Specify main and backup SMTP servers
$mail->SMTPAuth = true; // Enable SMTP authentication
$mail->Username = 'kfhcareer#gmail.com.com'; // SMTP username
$mail->Password = 'password12345'; // SMTP password
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'tls'; // Enable TLS encryption, `ssl` also accepted
$mail->Port = 587; // TCP port to connect to
$mail->setFrom('kfhcareer#gmail.com', 'KFH Bahrain');
$mail->addAddress('kfhcareer#gmail.com', 'Joe User'); // Add a recipient
$mail->AddReplyTo( 'mailer#blah.com', 'Contact BLah' );
$mail->isHTML(true); // Set email format to HTML
$mail->Subject = 'KFH house bahrain';
$mail->Body = 'This is tthe message <b>in bold!</b>';
if(!$mail->send()) {
echo 'Message could not be sent.';
echo 'Mailer Error: ' . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo 'Message has been sent';
}
require("PHPMailer/class.phpmailer.php");
$sender = "sender#gmail.com"; //gmail of the sender
$password = "senderpassword"; //the password
$receiver = "receiver#gmail.com"; // the receiver email
$mail = new PHPMailer();
$mail->IsSMTP(); // set mailer to use SMTP
$mail->SMTPDebug = 2;
$mail->From = $sender;
$mail->FromName = $sender;
$mail->Host = "smtp.gmail.com"; // specif smtp server
$mail->SMTPSecure= "ssl"; // Used instead of TLS when only POP mail is selected
$mail->Port = 465; // Used instead of 587 when only POP mail is selected 465
$mail->SMTPAuth = true;
$mail->Username = $sender; // SMTP username
$mail->Password = $password; // SMTP password
$mail->AddAddress($receiver, $receiver); //replace myname and mypassword to yours
$mail->AddReplyTo($receiver, $receiver);
$mail->WordWrap = 50; // set word wrap
$mail->IsHTML(true); // set email format to HTML
$mail->Subject = "This is Subject";
$mail->Body = "This is Body";

code source: 'github'
<?php
require 'phpmailer/PHPMailerAutoload.php';
$mail = new PHPMailer;
//$mail->SMTPDebug = 3; // Enable verbose debug output
$mail->isSMTP(); // Set mailer to use SMTP
$mail->Host = 'smtp.1and1.com'; // Specify main and backup SMTP servers
$mail->SMTPAuth = true; // Enable SMTP authentication
$mail->Username = 'myemail#server.com'; // SMTP username
$mail->Password = '*********'; // SMTP password
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'ssl'; // Enable TLS encryption, `ssl` also accepted
$mail->Port = 993; // TCP port to connect to
$mail->setFrom('myemail#server.com', 'Mailer');
$mail->addAddress('receiver#gmail.com', 'Shaur'); // Add a recipient
//$mail->addAddress('shaurshori#gmail.com'); // Name is optional
//$mail->addReplyTo('shaurshori#gmail.com', 'Information');
//$mail->addCC('cc#example.com');
//$mail->addBCC('bcc#example.com');
//$mail->addAttachment('/var/tmp/file.tar.gz'); // Add attachments
//$mail->addAttachment('/tmp/image.jpg', 'new.jpg'); // Optional name
$mail->isHTML(true); // Set email format to HTML
$mail->Subject = 'Here is the subject';
$mail->Body = 'This is the HTML message body <b>in bold!</b>';
$mail->AltBody = 'This is the body in plain text for non-HTML mail clients';
if(!$mail->send()) {
echo 'Message could not be sent.';
echo 'Mailer Error: ' . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo 'Message has been sent';
}
?>
date_default_timezone_set('Etc/UTC');
require 'vendor/autoload.php';
$mail = new PHPMailer;
$mail->isSMTP();
//Enable SMTP debugging
// 0 = off (for production use)
// 1 = client messages
// 2 = client and server messages
$mail->SMTPDebug = 2;
$mail->Debugoutput = 'html';
$mail->Host = 'smtp.mailgun.org';
$mail->Port = 587;
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'tls';
$mail->SMTPAuth = true;
$mail->Username = "#email.com";
$mail->Password = "**************";
$mail->setFrom('emailTo','name' );
$mail->addAddress('emailFrom', 'name');
$mail->addAddress('');
$mail->Subject = 'Test';
$mail->msgHTML("<h1>Succes!</h1>");
$mail->AltBody = 'Succes';
if (!$mail->send()) {
echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo "Message sent!";
}
I have soomething that works
Change
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'ssl';
to
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'tls';
As it states on the 1and1 email outgoing server info "Outgoing port (TLS must be activated)"
Code: -
$mail = new PHPMailer();
$body="<b>This mail is sent using PHP Mailer</b>";#HTML tags can be included
$mail->IsSMTP();
$mail->SMTPAuth = true; #enable SMTP authentication
$mail->SMTPSecure = "tls"; #sets the prefix to the server
$mail->Host = "smtp.gmail.com"; #sets GMAIL as the SMTP server
$mail->Port = 587; #set the SMTP port
$mail->Username = "morelifelondon#gmail.com"; #your gmail username
$mail->Password = "***********"; #Your gmail password
$mail->From = $email;
$mail->FromName = $name ;
$mail->Subject = "Enquiry";
$mail->Body = $messages;
$mail->AddAddress("morelifelondon#gmail.com","contact");
$mail->IsHTML(true); // send as HTML
if(!$mail->Send()) {
echo 'Message was not sent.';
echo 'Mailer error: ' . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo 'Mail has Been Sent.';
}
}
I want that morelifelondon#gmail.com is replaced by abhishek#gmail.com. Is this possible ?
$mail->AddAddress("abhishek#gmail.com","contact");
or use
$mail->AddCC("abhishek#gmail.com","contact");

try this code... its working....
If you are using PHP Mailer from Github,
then you can set the Sender name by,
$mail->SetFrom("info#mibckerala.org", "MIBC");
I'm trying to configure PHPMailer I've uploaded 1 file which is class.phpmailer.php and created another php file with this content:
<?php
require('class.phpmailer.php');
$mail = new PHPMailer(); // create a new object
$mail->IsSMTP(); // enable SMTP
$mail->SMTPDebug = 1; // debugging: 1 = errors and messages, 2 = messages only
$mail->SMTPAuth = true; // authentication enabled
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'ssl'; // secure transfer enabled REQUIRED for GMail
$mail->Host = "smtp.gmail.com";
$mail->Port = 465; // or 587
$mail->IsHTML(true);
$mail->Username = "myemail#gmail.com";
$mail->Password = "mypassword";
$mail->SetFrom("the same email address");
$mail->Subject = "Test";
$mail->Body = "hello";
$mail->AddAddress("the same email address");
if(!$mail->Send())
{
echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
}
else
{
echo "Message has been sent";
}
?>
and i get nothing at all not a success message nor a failure message. http://www.mawk3y.net/mailtest/test.php
all answers are outdated now. Most current version (as of Feb 2018) does not have autoload anymore, and PHPMailer should be initialized as follows:
<?php
include_once(FCPATH.'PHPMailer/src/PHPMailer.php');
include_once(FCPATH.'PHPMailer/src/SMTP.php');
include_once(FCPATH.'PHPMailer/src/Exception.php');
$msj="My complete message";
$mail = new PHPMailer\PHPMailer\PHPMailer();
$mail->IsSMTP(); // enable SMTP
$mail->SMTPDebug = 1; // debugging: 1 = errors and messages, 2 = messages only
//authentication SMTP enabled
$mail->SMTPAuth = true;
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'ssl'; // secure transfer enabled REQUIRED for Gmail
$mail->Host = "smtp.gmail.com";
//indico el puerto que usa Gmail 465 or 587
$mail->Port = 465;
$mail->Username = "xxxxxx";
$mail->Password = "xxxx";
$mail->SetFrom("xxxxxx#xxxxx.com","Name");
$mail->AddReplyTo("xxx#xxx.com","Name Replay");
$mail->Subject = "Test";
$mail->MsgHTML($msj);
$mail->AddAddress("xxxxxx#xxxxx.com");
if(!$mail->Send()) {
echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo "Message has been sent";
}
?>
The problem is with the require method.
You first have to extract all file of phpMailer repository.
instead of writing
require('class.phpmailer.php');
you need to include path where your PHPMailerAutoload.php file extracted.so you can replace it with.
require('path-of-extracted-folder/PHPMailerAutoload.php');
for more reference you can visit it's GitHub link
https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer
I had same problem but I solved.This is the way I code
<?php
require 'PHPMailer-master/PHPMailerAutoload.php';
//Create a new PHPMailer instance
$mail = new PHPMailer;
// Set PHPMailer to use the sendmail transport
$mail->isSMTP();
$mail->Host = 'smtp.gmail.com'; // Specify main and backup SMTP servers
$mail->SMTPAuth = true; // Enable SMTP authentication
$mail->Username = 'abc#gmail.com'; // SMTP username
$mail->Password = 'abc'; // SMTP password
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'tls'; // Enable TLS encryption, `ssl` also accepted
$mail->Port = 587; // TCP port to connect to
//Set who the message is to be sent from
$mail->setFrom('abc1#gmail.com', 'First Last');
//Set an alternative reply-to address
//Set who the message is to be sent to
$mail->addAddress('abc#gmail.com', 'Shehan');
//Set the subject line
$mail->Subject = 'Test Mail';
$mail->Body = 'This is Test Mail';
//send the message, check for errors
if (!$mail->send()) {
echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo "Message sent!";
}
?>
