Why won't this PHP Email Script send to my Yahoo email? - php

so I have this script and I've been trying to figure out why it won't send to my Yahoo email account.
<?php
require 'Exception.php';
require 'PHPMailer.php';
require 'SMTP.php';
require 'autoload.php';
//PHPMailer Object
$mail = new PHPMailer(true);
$mail->SMTPDebug = 2;
$mail->Host = "tampabaydowns#tbdseats.com";
$mail->SMTPAuth = true;
$mail->Username = "tampabaydowns#tbdseats.com";
$mail->Password = "~~~";
$mail->SMTPSecure = "SSL";
$mail->Port = 465;
$mail->From = "tampabaydowns#tbdseats.com";
$mail->FromName = "Tampa Bay Downs";
$mail->addAddress("~~#yahoo.com", "Austin");
$mail->Subject = 'PHPMailer GMail SMTP test';
$mail->Body = 'This is a plain text';
try {
$mail->send();
echo "Message has been sent successfully";
} catch (Exception $e) {
echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
}
?>
When I load the script page it says sent successfully but on the server, the email bounces back with this
~~#yahoo.com
host mta6.am0.yahoodns.net [67.195.~~]
SMTP error from remote mail server after pipelined MAIL FROM:<~~~#server.tbdseats.com> SIZE=1759:
553 5.7.2 [TSS09] All messages from 217.~~ will be permanently deferred; Retrying will NOT succeed. See https://postmaster.verizonmedia.com/error-codes
I am unsure why this isn't working. When I replace my yahoo email with my gmail, it sends and my gmail gets the email from the server. Is there something different that has to be done with Yahoo?
My Yahoo email isn't blocking any incoming email addresses and it isn't in my spam.
I added ~~~ to the secure information, that is why that is there.
Can someone please help, I've been trying to figure this out for the past 3 hours :( :(

The IP address of your provider's email server is blocked by yahoo. Use another server or service to relay your messages. As you pointed out gmail is relaying your messages correctly.
You can also ask your email admin to try fix it for you, but Yahoo is difficult to deal with on this kind of errors.

Gmail SMTP using PHPMailer, I am able to send messages but on Gmail account, not showing right sender information

As the title says, I am using PHPMailer to send messages on the contact form. I read quite a lot of questions here related to Gmail SMTP and can send messages. However, when I receive the messages from the sender, it never shows the sender's email address but only MY EMAIL address as the sender's email address but the name is sender's name.
So basically, it failed to receive the sender's email address. Everything else looks fine.
Here is my code below,
use PHPMailer\PHPMailer\PHPMailer;
use PHPMailer\PHPMailer\SMTP;
require 'vendor/autoload.php';
$mail = new PHPMailer();
$mail->isSMTP();
$mail->SMTPDebug = 1;
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'ssl';
$mail->Host = 'smtp.gmail.com';
$mail->Port = '465';
$mail->SMTPAuth = true;
$mail->Username = 'myemail#gmail.com';
$mail->Password = 'mypassword';
$mail->CharSet = 'UTF-8';
$mail->setFrom($your_email, $your_name);
$mail->addAddress('myemail#gmail.com');
$mail->Subject = $subject;
$mail->Body = $content;
if($mail->send()) {
$emailSent = true;
} else {
echo "Your message couldn't be sent. Please try again later.";
}
$your_email is from input inside the form and I already echoed it and it shows the sender's email address.   I use the pretty much same code for receiving the email using my server, not Gmail SMTP and received the right information about the sender, so I highly doubt  something is wrong with this code.
Also, I read this below,
Unable to send email using Gmail SMTP server through PHPMailer, getting error: SMTP AUTH is required for message submission on port 587. How to fix?
and one of the guys suggested to get rid of
$mail->isSMTP();
And then, it actually works fine which mean I receive the email with sender's name as well as email address.
Is it bad not to use $mail->isSMTP();?
If somebody knows how to fix this problem, I would appreciated it.

PHP mail function not working in godaddy account [duplicate]

I'm using godaddy for hosting my site and using default godaddy mail service.
Now i want to sent email using php mail function to other email address from my 1 of my 15 email address of my godaddy's email accounts
How can i fix that from which email address email will be sent and how to place the username and password for the email address ?
Thanks
The PHP mail function uses the mailserver configured for that webhost. You can't change that. Since godaddy controls the mailserver they control what headers it sends. You could try inserting a custom From header but I doubt that will work. It will either get modified, flagged as spam, or rejected.
If you have 15 accounts at godaddy, perhaps it's time to look for a more serious hosting solution?
Instead of using the mail() function, which just calls the OS mail function (i.e. sendmail), try something like SwiftMail (free PHP mail library). It support many different ways of sending mail, including logging into a mail account and sending email, just like you would do from your own computer. You could even send email from a gmail account if you wanted.

I am using godaddy hosting . Just keep some fields blank and send mail it will work .
please see below code its working for me.
<?php
include("class.phpmailer.php");
function sendMail($address,$username,$body){
$mail = new PHPMailer();
$mail->IsSMTP(); // telling the class to use SMTP
//$mail->Host = "smtp.gmail.com"; // SMTP server
$mail->SMTPDebug = 1; // enables SMTP debug information (for testing)
// 1 = errors and messages
// 2 = messages only
// $mail->SMTPAuth = true; // enable SMTP authentication
// $mail->SMTPSecure = "ssl"; // sets the prefix to the servier
// $mail->Host = "smtp.gmail.com"; // sets as the SMTP server
// $mail->Port = 465; // set the SMTP port for the server
// $mail->Username = "xyz#gmail.com"; // username
// $mail->Password = "test121232"; // password
$mail->SetFrom('contact#example.co.in', 'Contact');
$mail->Subject = "Enquiry for tour and travels package";
$mail->MsgHTML($body);
$address = $address;
$mail->AddAddress($address, $username);
$mail->AddCC('contact#example.co.in');
if(!$mail->Send()) {
echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo "Message sent!";
}
}
?>
just changed from email address, so you can send mail through this email id.
$mail->SetFrom('youremail#example.co.in', 'Contact');
I've had this issue on a couple of client accounts.
After MUCH playing around, I found that it didn't matter what email app or code you use.
I finally compared two accounts. One where I know email sends from PHP, and one where it doesn't. The difference I found was:
Working account had these 2 dns entries on the domain:
CNAME / mail / #
MX / # / mail.yourdomainname.com
And the MX Entry set within CPanel Zone Editor of:
Destination: yourdomainname.com
The account that was NOT working was the same, except it did not have the CNAME entry mentioned above. I added it, waited a few minutes and tested my code again and I finally started receiving the emails from my code!
This one worked for me.
I asked Godaddy and support they told me to use relays. So Instead of using mail() function, I used PHPMailer. Kindly check below the configuration for PHP Mailer.
$mail = new PHPMailer;
$mail->isSMTP();
$mail->SMTPDebug = 2;
$mail->Host = "relay-hosting.secureserver.net";
$mail->Port = 25;
$mail->setFrom('from#mail.com', 'From Mail');
$mail->addAddress('to#mail.com', 'To Mail');
$mail->Subject = 'PHPMailer GMail SMTP test';
$mail->msgHTML("test body 123");
$mail->AltBody = 'HTML messaging not supported';
if(!$mail->send()){
echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
}else{
echo "Message sent!";
}
Note: Here from#mail.com is my mail ID which is in cPanel mail accounts.

Sending email through local smtp server

Code:
<?php
require 'PHPMailer/PHPMailerAutoload.php';
$mail = new PHPMailer;
$mail->CharSet="utf-8";
$mail->isSMTP(); // Set mailer to use SMTP
$mail->Host = '172.17.224.12'; // Specify main and backup SMTP servers
$mail->SMTPAuth = false; // Enable SMTP authentication
//$mail->Username = '***'; // SMTP username
//$mail->Password = '***'; // SMTP password
$mail->SMTPSecure = 'TLS'; // Enable TLS encryption, `ssl` also accepted
$mail->Port = 25; // TCP port to connect to
$mail->setFrom('itslt#example.com', 'Company.com');
$mail->addReplyTo('itslt#example.com');
$mail->addAddress('dichitslt#example.com'); // Add a recipient
$mail->isHTML(true); // Set email format to HTML
$bodyContent = '<h1>How to Send Email using PHP in Localhost by CodexWorld</h1>';
$bodyContent .= '<p>This is the HTML email sent from localhost using PHP script by <b>CodexWorld</b></p>';
$mail->SMTPDebug = 2;
$mail->Subject = 'Email from Localhost by CodexWorld';
$mail->Body = $bodyContent;
if(!$mail->send()) {
echo 'Message could not be sent.<br>';
echo 'Mailer Error: ' . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
echo 'Message has been sent';
}
?>
When I run this code, it says message has been sent. However, when I look at my email, there's a notification saying that the email sent through my code was bounced back.
What could be the possible problem? was it the configuration in my code or was it the server?
screencap of the bounce back email
For those who encounter the same problem, what resolved to this problem is smozgur's answer.
I think the server you are trying to send email through php - your
local server - is not authorized to send email and considered as SPAM
(like someone else is trying to send email by using your credentials).
When I need to make my scripts sends email from the server, then I add
my server IP as the SPF record in the DNS records. That way, my email
server knows that IP is sending email in my knowledge and allows. In
your case, I think you can likely add your IP to temporarily solve the
problem. But you need to do that for the production server IP later as
well. If this is the case of course..
I contacted supervisor and told him the status of the email function, which is emails are being sent, but the mail server returns the emails to the sender. Also, the possible cause of the problem, which is the local server is not authorized to send email and considered as SPAM. Lastly, the possible solution, which is add the server IP as the SPF record in DNS record.

What is Gmail changing?
June of 2016 Gmail will change its DMARC policy from p=”none” to p=”reject.” This means any message sent using gmail.com in the from address, will have to originate from Gmail’s infrastructure.
What does this mean for me?
It depends. If you have any mail streams that send messages using gmail.com in the from address, you will have to make changes before June, or risk having those messages filtered or blocked outright.
If you only send email using your own domain or another domain that you control, you have nothing to worry about. However, it’s not uncommon for some applications or websites to send messages using their users’ email addresses. For example, if a user wants to send a message to their friend using your platform, it could make sense to send the message using their personal email address. If their email address happens to be a gmail.com address, this message will no longer deliver once these changes take place. A good alternative to sending mail from your user’s email address is to use their name in the friendly from. A “friendly from” is when you use a name to appear as the from address, instead of the email address itself:
exampleuser#yahoo.com can be sent as “Example User”
This way your recipients still recognize the individual that sent the message, and you’re no longer at risk of violating Gmail’s DMARC policy.
