How to change to multiple file upload?

I now have a code to upload a single file to my website, I want to change this to a multiple file upload. I want people to be able to select multiple files at once. Does someone know what I need to change about my code?
HTML
<html>
<body>
<form action="upload.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">
Select image to upload:
<input type="file" name="fileToUpload" id="fileToUpload">
<input type="submit" value="Upload Image" name="submit">
</form>
</body>
</html>
PHP
<?php
$target_dir = "gallery-images/";
$target_file = $target_dir . basename($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["name"]);
$uploadOk = 1;
$imageFileType = pathinfo($target_file,PATHINFO_EXTENSION);
// Check if image file is a actual image or fake image
if(isset($_POST["submit"])) {
$check = getimagesize($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["tmp_name"]);
if($check !== false) {
echo "File is an image - " . $check["mime"] . ".";
$uploadOk = 1;
} else {
echo "File is not an image.";
$uploadOk = 0;
}
}
// Check if file already exists
if (file_exists($target_file)) {
echo "Sorry, file already exists.";
$uploadOk = 0;
}
// Check file size
if ($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["size"] > 500000000) {
echo "Sorry, your file is too large.";
$uploadOk = 0;
}
// Allow certain file formats
if($imageFileType != "jpg" && $imageFileType != "png" && $imageFileType != "jpeg"
&& $imageFileType != "gif" && $imageFileType != "JPG" ) {
echo "Sorry, only JPG, JPEG, PNG & GIF files are allowed.";
$uploadOk = 0;
}
// Check if $uploadOk is set to 0 by an error
if ($uploadOk == 0) {
echo "Sorry, your file was not uploaded.";
// if everything is ok, try to upload file
} else {
if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["tmp_name"], $target_file)) {
echo "The file ". basename( $_FILES["fileToUpload"]["name"]). " has been uploaded.";
} else {
echo "Sorry, there was an error uploading your file.";
}
}
?>
All you need to make work it on front end is simply add MULTIPLE attribute to your input - it also works with drag and drop with couple browsers.
<form action="upload.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">
Select image to upload:
<input type="file" name="fileToUpload" id="fileToUpload" multiple>
<input type="submit" value="Upload Image" name="submit">
</form>
Let me know if You want to send it one by one in ajax

echo "The file ". basename( $_FILES["fileToUpload"]["name"]). " has been uploaded.";
} else {
echo "Sorry, there was an error uploading your file.";
}
}
?>
Try to check the directory of fileUpload.php
And don't you want to have that moving process inside if(isset($_POST["submit"])) ?
Your code is working fine. I am able to upload JPG, JPEG, PNG & GIF files. Please check your file structure.
You can check the file destination path before upload by using file_exists() function

PHP : File Upload on chrome browser

I am trying to upload an image via simple image upload script in PHP.
But, there is one problem which my testers have pointed out.
They are saying when they browse the image and then change the name of the source image and proceed with the upload.. Its not working.
Like before browe it was abc.jpg and after browe but before
uploading made it abc1.jpg
I tried to figure out this issue and found that when the above case is done I encounter a page not found error.
Can anyone tell me how can I fix this problem?
This is chrome specific only!
