I need to put hand written signature to pdf.
This pdf is created by dompdf and it works fine.
Open pdf and put signature in pdf is to complicate for workers :)
This must be easy to use.
I find jSignature and I think its perfect for this project.
I didn't know jQuery.
My question is: How can I take signature (svg, png) to variable in php?

I've been looking for a solution to generate PDF from some data I have on a database. Currently I put it on an HTML and then print to PDF, but they asked me to save directly to PDF. These are documents that vary a lot in design, so before it was easy to change a margin or a font size, but now they asking for a direct PDF output it's more difficult, so I saw that LiveDocx is a great solution for me... but these documents are very private (illneses, income...) and my bosses don't want to send any document to a server. So I'm looking for some other solutions. The perfect workaround is doing what LiveDocx proposes (You have a template in a Docx format that you can modify whenever you want, and then you can send some data to the template to fill the gaps and of course save to PDF) but in my own server. Do you know something like this?
My platform is based on PHP+Zend Framework, so it should be compatible with that.
Thank you!!
Well instead of using LiveDocx, i found a really cool Library. mPDF an MIT Licensed library that transfers HTML Code to a pdf document. Its simple and great. Let me know if this helped you and if you need more help.
AND ontop of all that, you can write your data directly to the pdf document. You can input an html file into the pdf writer IF you want. If not then yes you can use their write function to write data directly to pdf.
Is this possible? Because as what I have researched, most are using converters. How can I convert images to PDF using only PHP (Yii 2.0 framework, specifically) without the help of any converter software?
In my web application, user is to fill up a form and attach an image. I would like to convert that attached image to a PDF file.
Anyone might be of help? Thanks in advance.
Edit: I am not sure if a source code is needed here. So if you need it, just let me know.
I am using PHP 5.0 pdf library to convert files dynamically into PDF.
I am using this reference from the official PHP website using PDF_new(), creating its object and using PDF_set_info and PDF_get_buffer functions.
This works fine, but when I want to create PDF pages and writing the content inside of it, there is no reference given anywhere on how to convert an already existing page to PDF. Say a page in my folder bill.php with CSS too needs to be converted to PDF on the fly.
Well converting HTML to PDF is not that easy, there are several libraries out there that might fit your needs. But none has full html/css capabilities, especially not css3.
FPDF
http://www.fpdf.org
TCPDF
http://www.tcpdf.org
DOMPDF
http://code.google.com/p/dompdf/ (this class allows you to easily convert simple layouted websites to pdf. i used this class quite often with almost no problems. sadly this library does not support converting of forms to usable input fields.)
WKHTMLTOPDF
http://code.google.com/p/wkhtmltopdf/ (actually a linux package but php wrappers are existing. this gives almost full html capabilities and awesome results)
html2PDF is a nice library to use. Make sure you change the default language to English though. I've used it many times to create dynamic invoices with tables and divs. Works really well.
Refer some of the articles, which may help to improve your knowledge as well as clear some of doubt of you.

I'm developing an app where the user adds items to a list. That list is stored in an array and passed to PHP with JSON.
The objective is to then create a PDF with all the values extracted from the user. The PDF is quite complicated. It includes images depending on what the user selects and the text varies depending on the images and the input data.
The first idea was to generate the pdf in php with one of those pdf libraries, but that's going to be a real hassle.
Then I thought of creating an html & css (much easier) and the convert it to PDF. But since the html & css are quite complex I don't think those pdf converters will work with this.
Then I thought I could convert the html to jpg and then to pdf.
It'll be much simpler if I could just use html but the output needs to be pdf.
What do you suggest?
Here's a post that discusses creating PDF files with PHP and the PDFLib extension.
Generate PDFs with PHP it's on sitepoint.
Or if you want to go from HTML to the PDF it looks like TCPDF might work.
You can try using FPDF

wkhtmltopdf to the rescue! If you are on a VPS or dedicated machine, it's probably the best (open source) HTML-to-PDF engine out there. It leverages Webkit, the rendering engine used by Google Chrome and Apple Safari, amongst others.
Otherwise, your only other options are going to involve drawing every aspect of the PDF or image yourself, "by hand" in your code.
First of all my apologies to all the people who think this question is a repeated one or they find a similar question to this.
I am working on a project in which I have an online form and some PDFs stored on the server.
Functionality
On the submit action I have to get the data from the form, fill it to the copy of PDF and finally download it.
Approach
I followed these steps to achieve this functionality:
Converted the pdfs to html with this http://www.pdfdownload.org/free-pdf-to-html.aspx online tool.
Embedded the html with form variables and regenerated the PDFs with this library / dompdf library.
Problem
The approach is a brute force one as the html generated are far away from the real ones. So lot of effort is wasted in adjusting the html.
The process is so slow and not reliable as most of the time I get memory error or some other issues.
I need to to automate this process. What I have found through searching is I should create an FDF file that contains my variable and pass it to the PDF using some library and then download it.
I am able to create the FDF file but missing any library in PHP (I found one in JAVA) that I can use to create the PDF and download it. One library that I found is pdf tool kit but that is a command line tool and I am not able to use it on the server at run time and download the PDF file.
Anybody having done this before please help.
(Sorry for this long post)
Thanks,
Madhup
Check out FPDI. It allows you to load some existing PDF, draw on it programatically, and output a new PDF. Which, if I read your question right, is what you're trying to do.
There's some example code here.
