I have set an alert message on the api script but when it successful run on the frontend wont be able to prompt the alert successful message
here my code, this is the frontend code which expected to return the message from the server
fetch(InsertAPIURL, {
mode:'no-cors',
method: 'POST',
headers: headers,
body: JSON.stringify(Data)
})
.then((response) =>response.json())
.then((responseJson)=>{
Alert.alert(responseJson);
}).catch((error) => {
console.error("Error"+error);
})
here is the backend script code
$register = mysqli_query($CN, $insertuserid);
if ($register) {
$Message = "Member has been registered successfully";
$EncodedData=json_encode($Message);
echo $EncodedData;
}
else {
echo "Server Error... please try latter";
}
after execute the data successful insert into the server but it wont prompt anything hope u guys help, thanks in advance
Backend Php: you write the following below:
//backend php
if(ok){
echo json_encode(array("success"=>1,"messsage"=>"successfully"));
}
else{
echo json_encode(array("success"=>0,"messsage"=>"Error Register"));
}
//frontEnd React
fetch(URL,options).then(res=>res.json()).then(result=>{
if(result.success===1){
//write code successfully
Alert.
}
else{
//write code error register
Alert.
}
});
Alert Doc: https://reactnative.dev/docs/alert#alert

I am trying to call a simple php file from my React application which will send an email with the details from a contact form. For some reason when the React code executes the fetch of the PHP file, it returns a 409. However, if I manually post the URL into another tab it works as expected, and subsequent calls from my React application then work as expected!
This is my React code:
var url = '/backend/sendmail.php?subject=New Website Enquiry&to=info#site.co.uk&msg=' + msg
console.log(url)
console.log('sending')
fetch(url,
{
'headers': {
'Accept': 'text/html',
'Content-Type': 'text/html'
},
'method': 'GET',
})
.then(
(result) => {
console.log(result.status)
if (result.status === 200) {
console.log('success')
this.togglePop();
this.setState({
name: "",
email: "",
phone: "",
message: "",
terms: false,
})
} else {
console.log('failed')
this.setState({ openError: true })
}
},
(error) => {
console.log('ERROR')
console.log(error)
this.setState({ openError: true })
}
)
And this is my PHP file:
<?php
//header("Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *");
header('Content-Type: text/html');
// error handler function
function customError($errno, $errstr) {
error_log($errstr);
http_response_code(500);
}
// set error handler
set_error_handler("customError");
http_response_code(200);
// send email
mail($_GET["to"],$_GET["subject"],$_GET["msg"],"From: donot.reply#site.co.uk","-f donot.reply#site.co.uk");
error_log($_GET["subject"].":\n".$_GET["msg"], 0);
echo 'OK';
?>
I have spent several days trying to figure out why this is happening. My htaccess file seems OK as once I have made one succesful call to the PHP file it works after that!
It's not a CORS issue as the file is on the same domain.
Anyone got any ideas?
You are sending the wrong request to the server, and that's why you get a 409 error. You should encode the URL params before sending a request
const url = '/backend/sendmail.php?subject=New Website Enquiry&to=info#site.co.uk&msg=' + msg;
const encoded = encodeURI(url);
console.log(encoded)
// expected correct URI: "/backend/sendmail.php?subject=New%20Website%20Enquiry&to=info#site.co.uk&msg="
You can read more about it here
I have 3 files (HTML,JS and PHP) in the HTML save de info in variable called DatosPaciente in JavaScript
function Tomar_DATOS(){
DatosPaciente={
id:document.getElementById("paciente_id").value,
fecha:document.getElementById("fecha").value
};}
Then i use a function called Tiene_Cita_Hoy inside of a JS file
Tiene_Cita_Hoy(DatosPaciente)
in the JS file i try to use the Fetch API to send info to the PHP file
function Tiene_Cita_Hoy(Datos){
console.log(Datos);//"{id: "8", fecha: "2020/09/03"}" here everything is fine
fetch('tiene_cita.php',{
method: 'POST',
body: Datos
})
.then(res => res.json())
.then(data => {
console.log(data); //to see the result
})
}
then in a PHP file, then tried to receive the information via POST
$VALOR_id_paciente=$_POST['id'];
$VALOR_fecha=$_POST['fecha'];
and then I assign those values to a query
$SQL="SELECT * FROM vhsagenda WHERE PACIENTE='".$VALOR_id_paciente."' AND FECHA='".$VALOR_fecha."'";
echo json_encode($SQL);//just to see what information have
but the result is always: SELECT * FROM vhsagenda WHERE PACIENTE='' AND FECHA=''
apparently the information never reaches the PHP file
I have made some proper way for this method to get working.
You need to make an object first, then pass it in 'for loop'. It will generate string like this for example (test=123&test_two=444)
async function catch_something(url, bodyContent = {test: 123, test_two: 444}){
let bodyContent_string = '';
if(bodyContent instanceof Object){
for(const form_key of Object.keys(bodyContent)){
if(form_key != Object.keys(bodyContent)[Object.keys(bodyContent).length - 1]){
bodyContent_string += `${form_key}=${bodyContent[form_key]}&`;
}else{
bodyContent_string += `${form_key}=${bodyContent[form_key]}`;
}
}
}
const response = await fetch(url, {
method: 'POST',
mode: 'cors',
cache: 'no-cache',
headers: {
'X-Requested-With': 'XMLHttpRequest',
'Content-Type': 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'
},
body: bodyContent_string
}).catch((error) => {
console.error('Error:', error);
});
if(!response.ok){
throw new Error(`HTTP error! status: ${response.status}`);
}
return response.json();
}
You should send the parameters as a URL-encoded string.
function Tomar_DATOS(){
DatosPaciente = 'id=' + encodeURIComponent(document.getElementById("paciente_id").value) + '&fecha=' + encodeURIComponent(document.getElementById("fecha").value);
}
You've passed a plain object to the body parameter, but fetch doesn't know what to do with that data type (so it converts it to the useless string "[object Object]").
You should pass something that fetch knows how to convert into something supported by PHP instead.
e.g. a FormData object.
DatosPaciente = new FormData(document.getElementById("form_containing_your_inputs"));
I have PHP page on a web server to upload image from React Native.
Using Postman method POST, form-data key:avatar value: image_file everything works as expected.
In React Native I tried:
let uploadData = new FormData();
uploadData.append('avatar', uploadUri);
fetch(base_url, { method: 'post,', body: uploadData }).then(
(res) => {
var myresponse = res;
console.log(JSON.stringify(myresponse));
//console.log(res);
}
);
I am getting from server error:
{"type":"default","status":400,"ok":false,"headers":{"map":{"server":"Apache","connection":"Upgrade,
close","content-type":"text/html","vary":"Accept-Encoding,User-Agent","date":"Wed,
20 May 2020 15:29:15
GMT","accept-ranges":"bytes","upgrade":"h2,h2c"}},"url":"http://www./uploadImage.php","_bodyInit":{"_data":{"size":10154,"offset":0,"blobId":"D8041FEE-0479-4CD5-8438-4EFD737561DE","type":"text/html","name":"uploadImage.php","__collector":{}}},"_bodyBlob":{"_data":{"size":10154,"offset":0,"blobId":"D8041FEE-0479-4CD5-8438-4EFD737561DE","type":"text/html","name":"uploadImage.php","__collector":{}}}}
Than I tried using axios:
let uploadData = new FormData();
uploadData.append('avatar', uploadUri);
axios.post(base_url, uploadData).then((res) => {
console.log(res);
});
I get this response from the server:
"error": true,
"message": "No file was sent!",
"status": "error",
It is failing on: if($_FILES['avatar']), in PHP.
I have no idea what to do any more, again in Postman everything works fine as expected.
Does anybody have any idea what to do?
I tested it again and it is to be a problem with the URI that I am sending, for sure.
ie. if I look in Postman the request that I am sending:
avatar=#/Users/......image.jpg
and in React Native I am sending:
"avatar","file:///Users/.....image.jpg
By the way, I am using expo-image-picker to select the image.
It looks like this did the work..
let body = new FormData();
//Appending file to body
body.append('avatar', {
uri: uploadUri,
type: 'image/jpeg', //This is the file type .. you can define according to your requirement
name: 'avatar.jpg', //File name you want to pass
});
//Service call
fetch(base_url, {
method: 'POST',
headers: new Headers({
'Content-Type': 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded',
}),
body: body,
})
.then((res) => res.json())
.then((responseJson) => {
//GET RESPONSE SUCCESS OF FAILURE
console.log(JSON.stringify(responseJson));
})
.catch((error) => {
//ERROR
console.log(JSON.stringify(error));
});
I'm trying to make a like/dislike button in ajax. The ajax is sending my data to a separate file where it is saved in a database and that file sends back the successful response {"status":"success","message":"Like has been saved.","data":{"like":"1"}} that I got from the chrome network response window. However the code in $ajax(...).done isn't working
I have console.logged and var.dumped every bit of code i possibly could. my data IS being sent to my database which should mean that the SQL and the like class is correct. I've also tried simply console.log 'ging the response "res" and putting the rest in comments, but that again gives me nothing
<div>
Like
Dislike
<span class='likes' data-id="<?php echo $post->id ?>"><?php echo $post->getLikes(); ?></span> people like this
</div>
$("a.like, a.dislike").on("click",function(e){
var postId = $(this).data("id");
if($("a.like")){
var type = 1;
}else if($("a.dislike")){
var type = 0;
}
var elLikes = $(this).siblings(".likes");
var likes=elLikes.html();
$.ajax({
method: "POST",
url: "ajax/postlike.php",
data: {postId: postId, type:type},
dataType: "json",
})
.done(function( res ) {
console.log(res);
if(res.status=="succes"){
console.log(res);
if(res.data.like=="1"){
likes++;
elLikes=html(likes);
$("a.like").css("display","none");
$("a.dislike").css("display","inline-block");
} else if(res.data.like=="0"){
likes--;
elLikes=html(likes);
$("a.dislike").css("display","none");
$("a.like").css("display","inline-block");
}
}
});
e.preventDefault();
});
if(!empty($_POST)){
try {
$postId=$_POST['postId'];
$type=htmlspecialchars($_POST['type']);
$userId=$_SESSION['user_id'];
$l = new Like();
$l->setPostId($postId);
$l->setUserId($userId);
$l->setType($type);
$l->save();
$res = [
"status" => "success",
"message" => "Like has been saved.",
"data" =>[
"like" => $type
]
];
}catch (trowable $t) {
$res = [
'status' => 'failed',
'message' => $t->getMessage()
];
}
echo json_encode($res);
var_dump($res);
}
what I expected to happen was that Ajax sent the JSON data to the php code, that put it in a database, which works. Then gives a successful response to the Ajax, also works. The Ajax would then switch out the like/dislike buttons whilst adding or taking 1 like from the span "likes". It however does absolutely nothing
I'm almost 100% certain that the problem is something stupid that I'm overlooking, but i really can't find it.
Typo in 'success' in on line: if(res.status=="succes"){
you can try with this:
error: function(xhr, status, error) {
console.log(error)
},
success: function(response) {
console.log(response)
}
in your Ajax function, to know what happen in the server side with the response.
If you specify a return data type for the ajax request to expect, and the actual returned value isn't what you specified, then your error/fail function will be triggered if you have one. This is because adding dataType: "json" causes you're ajax try and parse your return value as json and when it fails, it triggers your error handler. It's best to omit the dataTaype and then add a try catch with JSON.parse in your done function, to get around this.
E.G
.done(function (string_res) {
console.log(string_res);
try {
var json_obj = JSON.parse(string_res);
console.log(json_obj);
} catch (e) {
console.log('failed to parse');
}
// do work/operations with json_obj not string_res
})
.fail(function (jqXHR, textStatus) {
console.log('failed')
});
I wanted perform checking if the PHP Webhost is complete whenever perform a update function, if everything doing fine then send an notification and let the Application know the Operation is Doing fine.
Basically I wanted to know if the query in PHP work and use my application to notify the user.
is there any way or method to do so?
I using this method to fetch data from PHP in my React Native App
RecipeUpdation = () =>{
const { ID } = this.state ;
const { Name } = this.state ;
const { Type } = this.state ;
const { Ingredient } = this.state ;
const { Step } = this.state ;
return fetch('https://www.update.php', {
method: 'POST',
headers: {
'Accept': 'application/json',
'Content-Type': 'application/json',
},
body: JSON.stringify({
RecipeID : ID,
RecipeName : Name,
RecipeType : Type,
RecipeIngredient: Ingredient,
RecipeStep: Step
})
}).then((response) => response.json())
.then((responseJson) => {
}).catch((error) => {
console.error(error);
});
}
Basically we can verify if the Operation in PHP is successful or not by Checking the Query Execution Status. A very Basic way to do the checking is using If Else to see if the Query Function return True(Success) or False(Fail). You can also always return some Message through JsonResponds.
Here some example Code for PHP checking and Return Some Message:
// Using If Else to Check if operation Success or Not
if(mysqli_query($connection,$Your_Query)){
$MSG = 'Success' ;
// Convert message into Json format first
$json = json_encode($MSG);
// This is where it return the message to Application.
echo $json ;
}
else{
$MSG = 'Failed' ;
$json = json_encode($MSG);
echo $json ;
}
In your Application Code you already have the implementation to retrieve the JsonResponds(the Message) which have been echo in the PHP Code, I would suggest use a simple method which is Alert to pop out the message in your React Native Application to notify the User the Operation Status.
}).then((response) => response.json())
.then((responseJson) => {
// this responseJson Already have the echo Message from PHP
// just Display the Status with Alert Function
Alert.alert(responseJson);
}).catch((error) => {
console.error(error);
});
Hope this would help.
